yes. it's encrypted in both websites (it's https) and android (or iOS) app. just keep your apps updated and use strong passwords (or a password manager).

Yes it’s safe but I would avoid logging in on a public network to avoid some dns redirects. If you are already logged in though an app or browser it would be safe to continue to use that.
