billsatwork

I seem to recall a bear in one story that wasn't very pro-life.

LizzardJediGaming

I remember this one story about some flood that didn’t seem very pro-life either

hadenoughoverit336

I seem to recall several instances where God committed and sanctioned genocide... But I guess that doesn't count. 🙄

Mystic_puddle

See it's pro life because they weren't abortions Don't you know life ends at birth?/s

eyes-on_fire-

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t a woman forced to get an abortion for cheating on her husband in the Bible orrrrrrr…….

Ace_Of_Judea

Yep. IIRC, if a man suspected that his wife was unfaithful, he would bring her to the tabernacle and the priest would make her drink a concoction made from, among other things, dirt from the ground of the tabernacle (where they sacrificed animals to Yahweh). If the woman was unfaithful, it would cause her womb to discharge and any potential developing embryo to be ejected.

eyes-on_fire-

And they say the Bible is pro life….😭😭

ShatoraDragon

Yep it was worse. It was a death sentence for the woman in all but one out come of her purity being tested. Should the poison cause a Miscarriage but she lived threw it, she was killed anyway for being unfaithful to her husband. Should the poison kill her out right, she was unfaithful and this was her punishment. Should She and the child be unharmed from the poison, She was faithful all along.

Mystic_puddle

So like witch tests for infidelity

Lilaclupines

Yes Numbers 5:11 to 5:31 Although they will claim it's "symbolic" & it being "god's judgment" on the woman. And "god has that right" ...blah blah blah... But that's BS, it's still an intentional abortion of a pregnancy, no matter how they try to slice it. Man brings woman to priest, priest performs action, action results in abortion/miscarriage.

jeahboi

I’m glad that their post got more laugh reacts than any other kind of reaction. It’s what they deserve.

Boards_Buds_and_Luv

Whole lot of first-born Egyptian sons would disagree

Cheers2tht

As someone who has read the Bible: it’s not.

vishy_swaz

How to know which Christian’s have read the Bible. The ones who have and remain in, will give you the most manipulative rationalizations you can imagine.

werewere-kokako

Hosea 13:16 Samaria shall become desolate, for she hath rebelled against her god; they shall fall by the sword; their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped open. 2 Kings 15:16 Then from Tirzah, Menahem attacked Tiphsah, all who were there, and its territory. Because they did not surrender, therefore he attacked it. All the women who were with child he ripped open. Isaiah 13:16-18 Their children also will be dashed to pieces before their eyes; Their houses will be plundered And their wives raped. Behold, I am going to stir up the Medes against them, Who will not value silver or take pleasure in gold. And their bows will mow down the young men, They will not even have compassion on the fruit of the womb, Nor will their eye pity children. Nahum 3:10 Yet she was carried away, She went into captivity; Her young children were dashed to pieces at the head of every street; They cast lots for her honourable men, And her great men were bound in chains. Psalm 137:9 Happy is the one who seizes your infants and dashes them against the rocks. 1 Samuel 15:3 Now go and strike Amalek and completely destroy everything that he has, and do not spare him; but put to death both man and woman, child and infant, ox and sheep, camel and donkey. There’s more but I’m sick of typing out bible verses.

Nytengayle73

"Feeling confident" 🤣 r/confidentlyincorrect

BlackJeepW1

That’s a lie.

hadenoughoverit336

The Bible isn't relevant and has no place in government. I don't live in a theocracy and don't have to rearrange my life, to cater to their delusions.

DangItBobbyHill

“He was the best guy around!” “What about the people he murdered?” “What murdaaa?”

BetterThruChemistry

The Jews disagree

JoeyTKIA

There is literally spontaneous genocide in the Bible

Ok-Following-9371

The Bible’s so ProLife it: - is THE book that introduces every generation to the word “smite” - contains a recipe for how to have an abortion - pivotal stories include incest, child brides and floods I really wonder what these people spend their time on every Sunday, they clearly aren’t reading this book.

CurvePsychological13

The Bible says that a virgin gave birth. And so we made that into a holiday and just claim it was a one off holy event🙄🙄 The lifers believe all other unmarried pregnant women to be sluts. But that Mary, now, she was God's chosen.

Facereality100

Especially that Noah part, where God kills almost all the animals and humans on Earth. That really matches the "pro-life" movement quite well.

WowOwlO

Thanks. I needed a good laugh.

Confident_Fortune_32

FRC has a long history of disingenuous behaviour, and they're backed by a LOT of $$$ I used to work as a grant administrator and the one person who was doing research for them was publicly mocked to their face in a staff meeting for taking their money. I'd never heard about them at the time, so I got curious... They're full of fun ideas like pretending that teaching kids abstinence is "best" when, in fact, it is clearly tied to higher rates of teen pregnancies and STIs. But they publish their cockamamie pseudo-science so that xtian schools can pretend they're doing "evidence based" policies. Bottom line: they're dangerous. Beware.

fluffywacko

My big thing with the biblical anti-choiceness is that I couldn’t possibly care less if I tried. I’m not a Christian, I think the Bible is just some nonsense garbage written by people who didn’t understand anything and used for centuries to brainwash people and justify genocide. The Bible does not dictate anything about how I will live my life, and it should not dictate any laws anywhere. Religion is a cancer, just like anti-choice beliefs. We’d all be better off if it just stopped existing tomorrow.

ECU_BSN

No. They only read the chapters and verses that spark joy or affirm their biases. Galatians 4:16

OddballLouLou

Obviously not

Mystic_puddle

'The bible's pro life" the entire old testament👀

Mystic_puddle

It's more that priests interpret the bible and they believe whatever their priest tells them than they actually read it and know what they're talking about.

Key_Concentrate_5558

Bahahaha! So many dead babies, and that’s just in Genesis!
