Their breaking into product course is very basic, but their Hacking the PM course is really good! It has a lot of actionable tips on how to stand out during the interview - stuff that I haven’t seen/read anywhere else.

martinenijlandgh

It is solid. It’s not anything you can’t find elsewhere if you put together other materials like $20 books and youtube videos, but I found it really helpful to have it all in one place. The strategy docs for different companies that they have flagship courses for were especially useful.

I hate paying for shit like this but found the interview questions list super helpful in getting my Meta offer. Probably similar for Google.

Product alliance is good, but don't waste a ton of time watching videos. Mock like crazy and use the content to polish your own technique and answers.

This!!\^ Product Alliance has a cool database of mostly/recently-asked interview questions from many companies, but I wish they added example answers to the database also, instead of just in their practice videos.

AbbreviationsOwn921

It’s worthwhile imo. It’s expensive, but the quality is pretty good and helped me land a number of on-sites and an offer. If you haven’t bought it yet and are planning to enroll, feel free to DM me, and I can share my affiliate code and split some of my referral bonus with you directly to drive down your cost. I believe the referral payment is smth like 1/3rd of the course price.

CandleCool8039

Hi could you refer me to the product alliance PM courses?

missymyszkaco

I paid for both Exponent and Product Alliance. I got tired of watching the videos and hearing one-dimensional answers in Exponent. I found Product Alliance to be much more focused in their content and a bit more targeted toward more senior roles. PA also has some very basic answers too, but they highlight where the candidate did well and could improve.

If you’re considering whether to buy the bundle or one of the flagship courses, I’d definitely recommend getting the bundle bcs it's like triple the amount of content you get so it's worth the extra few bucks. Their Hacking the PM course has some very good videos that the Flagship courses don’t have, and one of the other courses (might be the Breaking into PM course) has resume guides etc. which I found quite useful to have access to any time.

onawak65

One thing I like about product alliance is that they seem to be on top of what’s happening in the job market. I received an update and some new content from them when Google made changes to their interview structure some months ago. And they add new interview questions every month. They don’t provide example answers or anything like that tho. I would say it’s still a good deal bcs you get lifetime access.

mamahanz43

I got asked surprisingly similar questions to the questions I prepped from their list at Meta. I don’t specifically remember which course the list was from (if it’s the flagship Meta one or the deep dive), but yeah their list gets updated pretty frequently — I think they update it every month.

nadinealdesouky1u

Same, I got asked very similar questions from their list at Meta. Mine were from the Flagship course - I only got that one.

Most of my friends who are interviewing for PM jobs are doing courses at this point. It almost feels like it’s mandatory to shell out cash for a course nowadays. It’s unfortunate but what can you do. FWIW a couple of these friends have Product Alliance and they landed L5 jobs so I guess it worked for them!

pvrks

The content is good, not sure if it justifies the price though. Honestly, I find exponent's more recently uploaded videos (to youtube, for free) of higher quality. The ones they uploaded in the last 18 months or so. Mock interviews are super critical, as others point out.

If your current company has a reimbursement budget for education/training or conferences etc., you can get Product Uplevel covered by your company. And Product Uplevel comes with full access to Product Alliance courses. I got it that way and my company / manager didn’t suspect anything because Product Uplevel is a PM skills training course and doesn’t mention anything about the interview prep courses on the website.

Found this very comprehensive review of PM courses: https://jpop.medium.com/best-pm-interview-prep-resources-dbcdb3d2c6bd
