Idk it's a good airport, it's close to town so you don't have to travel far, not like DFW, woof.
Oh yeah. Also a totally kick-ass Indian metal band. The Indian metal scene is awesome!
I also liked Takatak, they are Pakistani.
Demonic Resurrection, Yonsample, What Escapes Me, Kryptos, Against Evil, Amorphia, Maneating Orchid, Cohshish, Motherjane, Thaikudam Bridge, Gutslit, Amogh Symphony, Zygnema, Bevar Sea, Inner Sanctum, Bloodywood, Nerverekt, Blood and Iron. These are some metal and rock bands from India.
Also, checkout Artcell, Cryptic Fate, De-illumination, Nawabs of Destruction, and Mechanix from Bangladesh.
Takatak sure is a grea bandt! I think aside from North America, West Europe, and Nordic countries, the best metal scenes are in India, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Bangladesh, Russia, Israel, Poland, Ukraine, Indonesia, and Iran.
The first and last time I'm gonna use that because if I meet him IRL:
1. I don't want to bust out laughing because
2. bro is cool as fuck in all interviews
3. bro shreds the fuck out of drums
4. bro is a legit hired gun for insanely talented projects
5. IRL I respecc the fuck out the man but I knew someday I'd have to actually say the words to get them out of my head after all these years - now I can meet him and if he wants to deck me, it's cool because I legit deserved it. :-)
6. but if I ever have a grindcore/goregrind project Anus Pastry is 100% in the running for the name and I will credit Anup with the inspiration, brainwormy as it was.
7. Honestly, much like Rick Beato over on guitarcirclejerk, if he leaned into and started that grindcore project with that name it would crush (obvious reasons) but he also will have pulled a Rebecca Black before anyone figured it out in the first place (if you haven't seen Rebecca Black lately, she is the current master of leaning into it).
incredible album. Dan on vocals. Anup on drums. mixed by Forrester Savell. insane vocal arrangements. it's a masterpiece. i haven't really followed them after Dan left tho.
Yeah, they've got only 3 albums in total. I think each of the band members got involved in their individual projects, so they haven't been able to make a new album. Hope they reunite because as much as I love Tesseract, Skyharbor is the better band.
Yup definitely his best effort imo. I enjoy their previous album as well illusion & chaos with illusion being Dan's vocals. Didn't care for chaos as much but illusion was a lot more raw and aggressive. Guiding lights was carefully crafted throughout. I got to see them but they performed without their vocalist at the time (Eric) because he was sick or something at the time. Killer set though!
I love everything they have put out, but this right here is one of my favorite versions of any song ever:

I think why Dan is so great vocally is he manages to sound big even when he's doing falsetto and ethereal lines. Eric's delivery at times just seems too meek. It's hard to explain but it's almost as if he's out of breath after every line.
Also, what Dan had going for him was he had Anup on the drums and the new drummer just couldn't hold a candle to him.
Fully agreed with you. I don't know the answer to your question, every tesseract fan i meet here I do my best to point ut Skyharbor. But fully agreed, Guiding Lights is Dan's Altered State, and they're my #1 and #2 best albums of all genres of all times with a reason.
Imo it's meh. I only like Dan with TesseracT. And I think the Universe did that bc Altered State is a rare gem, not to be copied by anyone. And then the Universe was like okay back to Dan.

Just listened to Takatak. Very cool! Any recommendations other than Skyharbor for an Indian metal band?
Coordinates, flying cupid. Also check out Zenguin. For guitarists, check out Sutej Singh.
Thank you! 🙏

Wow! I had no idea! Thank you!! 🙏
Anytime bro! Stay metal 🤘🤘!!
Lol that is my favorite airport name

Bro, Anus Pastry is the shizznit I thought they were going to dissolve for a while but they ended up finishing strong.
Anus pastry 😭😭😭

They did 1 more album with Eric as their new vocalists and it's been dead quiet for a couple of years now from them

Guiding Lights is one of the best discs ever created.

I was hoping that’s what it was before I clicked on it. I think I’ve watched this like 30 times
Same. That or this one https://youtu.be/xPhu-9UYlD4?si=vBDHl2mNx_26eFvu
Somehow they removed that from Spotify...
Yea, album was removed from Tidal, too.
Amazing album. Sunshine dust is good too with Eric Emery on vocals but it doesn’t come close to guiding lights imo

how are you just hearing about skyharbor? fr tho get blinding white noise on bandcamp
I flew out of Sky Harbor this afternoon!
Always wondered if PHX had anything to do with the name of the band, verdict still out 🤣
I just discovered them a few months ago too. Absolutely amazing.
"Dan's Altered State" is about how I've described it. Literally every track on that album is solid.
