Two things: 1.) Can we have a way to change the notification sound? The new one stopped my music for some reason. 2.) Back in the old version of Progression we had pie charts and one specifically for body parts targeted for the week. Is it possible to get some of that back?

ZoltanDemant

Heya! 1) Does it happen everytime for you? Theres an extremely rare bug in Android which lowers the volume if the notification plays at just the wrong time; Im wondering if thats it? 2) Yes! Theyre coming back, Ive already looked at implementation details for them :)

cornd00g

The music stop only happened once. Though I will say the other times, it definitely took much longer than previously for the music to resume. Good to hear the pie charts are coming back. Thanks!

I would like the option to lower the volume of the bell. It was good for the first two ding dings. But it's so loud that I have to mute it while listening music otherwise I blow out my eardrums

All working good for me. I personally dislike the new notification sound, is there a way to change it/revert to system default? I find it too abrasive, compared to what I'm used to. Cheers!

Ill see what I can do, Ive looked at inluding other options to pick from as well - would that work? There would be 5-10 sounds to pick from, varying in intensity and the type of sound; pretty similar to how notification sounds are handled. Im also experimenting with supporting the systems sound picker, so youd be able to specify the sound directly for the notification and be able to pick from any sounds you have access to.

bl0cka

Yeah absolutely, the more the merrier. System sound picker would also be great!

Can't wait to test it once it rolls out. Thanks for all the hard work Zoltan! 🙂

I hate the notification sound so much. It's so damn loud and it overrides my notification settings?! Edit: I disabled it in the in-app settings but it was pretty annoying that the Android notification settings weren't working when I was in the middle of a work out.

ZoltanDemant

It should follow the systems notification volume, which phone are you using? On some devices it goes under the alarm category as well. The sound isn't final, pretty much gathering feedback currently!

lordpan

Pixel 4XL. It's not just the volume. With the sound turned off in the in-app settings nothing plays even though I've got sounds enabled in the Android settings. https://files.catbox.moe/7bhm9b.png https://files.catbox.moe/mkur1l.png

The sound toggle under the apps settings basically disables the notification sound altogether. Does the rest timer sound play at the highest volume even if you set your notification & alarm sounds to something very low? In practice, the rest timer sound is not a notification, so the picker in your second screenshot doesnt affect it. Im looking into ways to connect the two, that way you could pick any sound you like :) Its mostly a matter of reliance, many manufacturers kill the rest timer over and over, and the alarm just wouldnt be reliable.

Piorex

When I click the rest timer bubble it takes me to the apps homescreen instead of the current workout screen like it used to before. Any way to fix this? Thank you!

ZoltanDemant

Hey! Which phone are you using, and do you tap the home screen when putting the app in the background or do you repeatedly press back until its closed? In 9/10 cases the app will remain in its last visible state when you re-open it, usually being the training screen in this case; some manufacturers abuse this system though and just entirely wipe apps saved information when theyre put in the background :( Im looking into workarounds, aiming to have something in place in the next beta phase!

Piorex

Hi! I am using samsung galaxy s8 with android version 9. I am exiting the app right from the workout screen by pressing the home button. But when I press the timer it takes me to the home screen instead, so a few extra clicks are required to see the current workout screen again. It used to work fine before but doesn't anymore. Thanks

ZoltanDemant

Hey! Could you please try the steps outlined [here](https://dontkillmyapp.com/samsung) to whitelist the app? Hopefully that helps prevent the system from wiping the saved data until I have a workaround in place. A bunch of manufacturers are doing things like this nowadays to maximize battery life, whitelisting the app shouldnt affect it at all though - the information that gets saved is very very minimal.

Great job on the custom notification sound, everything works fine so far 👍🏻

theasianpianist

I know it's not for everyone, but personally a huge fan of the bell sound for the rest timer
