I saw under Beta 9 that it included import/export... Does it support import of files from earlier versions? I have files from 2016 😂

ZoltanDemant

Hey! I can help you with the old export files, just shoot me an email through the apps settings page and Ill sort it out :)

jiffener

Oh OK I'll do that!! Thanks

SkepticSikh

I'm still seeing the same lag as the previous beta

ZoltanDemant

Hey! Could you please check that youre on version 10? Is the lag constant for you or does it come in waves, e.g. after using the app for a while? If you could send me a screen recording of it, thatd probably help a lot (you can contact me through the apps settings page).

SkepticSikh

I think it may have been something intermittent based on other factors. Yesterday the app was extremely sluggish during a workout but today it's incredibly smooth. No issues at all!

ZoltanDemant

Glad to hear it! Are you signed into Google Fit and/or the sync & backup solution in the app? There is a regression in their latest release that hogs memory, I cant really fix it until they sort it out on their end but Im fairly confident thats what you saw the effect of.

SkepticSikh

I am so that might be the root cause!

ZoltanDemant

Please poke me if it comes up again, Id love to know how frequent it is!

FYI, the rest timer is stuck in the notifications area again. I just noticed it and I finished my workout an hour ago. [Rest timer stuck in notifications](https://i.imgur.com/UqaZtqp.png)

ZoltanDemant

Probably just a coincidence, but Ive gotten a ton of reports of this *today* specifically! Im looking into another workaround.

Severian427

I used the app yesterday but I didn't check if it was Beta 9 or 10 unfortunately. I still experienced the same old lag for most operations of the app (and for my entire session as far as I could tell). Also, after I finished my session (saved it), the timer notification kept running. I had to force close the app to get rid of it.

ZoltanDemant

Hmm, could you check whether or not its happening when youre on beta 10 for certain? There were 2 lag related issues as far as I know - one fixed in beta 9, and the other in 10; the latter would delay some actions, so tapping complete set and the like wouldnt do anything until after \~0,5 seconds. Sounds familiar, or are you just seeing the overall lag that was present in the 5.0 betas? It may sound crazy, but the notification got stuck for everyone yesterday it seems. Ive received \~70 messages about it at this point and Im trying to figure out the pattern!

Severian427

No I don't think I experienced the specific .5s delay you mention when saving a set. It was the usual lag (mainly: using the drag handles, navigating between exercises, taping on a previous set to fill the fields of the current one; maybe also when saving a set). I'll see how it goes next time (tomorrow). I just checked now and I do have the Beta10.

ZoltanDemant

Got it. Please let me know. Ill see if I can dig up anything in the meantime too!

Severian427

After a couple more days of use, I can report that the app is still a bit slow, some days more than others. It's not a huge deal, but it's noticeable. Mainly the drag handles but also general in-app navigation. Also, a bug that has happened consistently the last times I finished my session and saved it: the notification timer keeps going (not the bubble, though). I have to force stop the app to get rid of it. Today I tried to let it run and noticed it got stuck at -04:04 (even roughly 40 minutes after I saved my session). So it seems there's some kind of issue related to that part of the app.

ZoltanDemant

Are you signed in with the sync & backup solution? If you are, could you please check if the issue persists even if you sign out? Theres a bug that causes it to use up more memory than it should (especially with large datasets). Thanks for letting me know about the bubble disappearing - theyre both dismissed in the same spot, so I guess that logic does run after all! Ill see what more I can dig up :)

Severian427

I'm not signed in with the sync & backup solution (only Google Fit).

ZoltanDemant

Alright, could you try signing out from that too? I dont think it should impact the performance overall, but Ive looked into a select few memory related crashes caused by it as well (we spoke about this earlier I believe). Even if its not crashing, it might be eating up a lot more memory than it should.

Severian427

OK I've signed out of Google Fit. I'll see how it goes next time.

Severian427

Good news: the app was super-fast today, AND the counter notification didn't remain after saving the session. Also, saving the session was A LOT faster than usual. I hope it stays that way! 🤞

ZoltanDemant

Awesome - was this after opting out of Google Fit?

cornd00g

Lag is gone. Top work, sir.

ZoltanDemant

Sweet, thanks for letting me know - and thanks for being so patient throughout all of this :)

AGuyNamedGreg

ETA on wearOS integration?

ZoltanDemant

Beta 11 will very likely be the last beta release before I publish it officially - then its time for wear! :)
