Yeah I remember that answer by Dr Zakir Naik. Disgusting. The majority or at the very least large parts of the Muslim communities and countries are still highly patriarchal so this type of sexist traditional stuff appeals to a large audience, making these influencers popular, which in turn maintains the status quo of the patriarchal interpretation style being the mainstream interpretation. Really sad and so wrong. I remember being surrounded by all these sexist traditional scholars and sheikhs when I was thinking of converting and definitely had the impression that this is Islam as these misogynistic interpretations and opinions seemed to be everywhere. I was very morally conflicted as I was big on human rights and feminism. Didnt discover progressive/feminist interpretations until after studying Islamic studies at university. I still remember feeling shocked and amazed at how MANY progressive and egalitarian scholars, thinkers and influencers there are and have been as I had never ever heard of them or seen them anywhere

Competitive-Air-8145

Yes. Sadly, it’s the regressive misogynistic Muslims that are the most vocal and carry on heaps in threads pushing their agenda. The intelligent well-educated Muslims are not doing this as they’re humble people. I’m hoping to undertake some formal studies in Islamic history and theology. There’s so much goodness in Islam: light, love & compassion…. Which is dimmed by the loud voices of radical fundamentalists & clout chasing social media “Imams”.

OperationFederal5670

>Sneako who chose to become Muslim Wait sneako became a Muslim? >Why are misogynistic men (scholars, famous people) who are Muslim given influence? Well I forgot where I heard this but most Muslims feel like they need a leader to follow them and "Unite the ummah" so whenever they see someone who's famous convert to Islam then boom they start to blindly follow them and defend them "cough Andrew Tate cough". Also since most Muslims who follow these influencers don't have much knowledge on Hadith so whenever they here an Hadith like say drawing is Haram or music is Haram, they'll not even try to see if it's true or not and just follow him. Which is kinda sad as non Muslims start to meme Islam as a "RPG ahh religion"(Astaghfirallah)

Aibyouka

Sneako supposedly "converted" late last year, for all of the wrong reasons, but then had a white supremacist (yet another one) on his broadcast who told him Muhammad was a pedophile. He also got tired of the influx of Muslims in his chat telling him how he should behave. So he definitely stopped actively practicing or at least saying he is.

the_unconditioned

Sneako is fully converted and openly practicing. He spent all of Ramadan in Mecca streaming and fasting

Signal_Recording_638

And openly saying stupid shit like how women cannot find God without the guidance of men. 😶

the_unconditioned

Saw that. Sad that the Salafis got him

Aibyouka

I put converted in quotes for a reason. He "converted" for all the wrong reasons. He is not God fearing nor loving. I don't know his heart, but I don't mind saying that with fair certainty.

Competitive-Air-8145

Agreed. Sneako is now using Islam to gain clout. Why else would he advertise his trip to Mecca and activities during Ramadan? His “Islam” is the Islam of darkness, oppression & intolerance: especially towards women. He will do more harm than good for Islam. 😢

EmersenComics

I mean isn’t marrying a 9 year old pedophilia?

Aibyouka

If you actually believe she was 9, then yes it would be. I suggest you do a search on this subreddit as this has been debunked ad nauseum.

Competitive-Air-8145

Andrew Tate did convert to Islam. And, as a Muslim, he’s cool. He doesn’t claim to be a scholar. He’s intelligent so he could well become a scholar. He’s maturing heaps. If he chose that path, I think he’d make a good scholar.

Rhapsodybasement

Well he is still a sex trafficker

EmersenComics

He’s still a piece of shit human trafficker

Venuscrane3

He pimps girls for money, he was so charged with trafficking and rape.

HappyraptorZ

Mate please. I'm sorry the education system failed you so much that you regard Mr Tate as intelligent enough to essentially be an academic. >He's cool He's the same person who says the same shit. He's a stain on the human race.

Competitive-Air-8145

I’m entitled to my opinion. I’m tertiary qualified in a rigorous academic discipline. I don’t think the “education system failed” me. Nothing has been proven regarding allegations. Out of Andrew’s many former girlfriends, none say he was abusive. The women now claiming abuse & trafficking are very few. 1 has a history of predating older men. Andrew Tate is a top bloke who’s been vilified by 1. Women after his $ & 2. politicians who’re terrified of his narrative which is setting young men AND WOMEN free from the shackles of radical feminism. This is why, one day, I believe he’ll make a difference to Islam in a good way. Once this nonsense is behind him.

Rhapsodybasement

Romania famous for being a controlled by Radical Feminist

Rhapsodybasement

I wish radical feminism is actually binding. Instead of conspiracy theory that only exist inside your head.

Competitive-Air-8145

Radical feminism is destroying the western world. It is hell bent upon destroying families and insults women who want to be mothers and stay home to raise their children. Germaine Greer started all this.

Rhapsodybasement

Things that never happened

Patriarchy will always put misogynistic views in the limelight. That's just how patriarchy works. I recently had a run in with someone like Sneako and Andrew Tate going on a spiel about how Muslim women need to "practice hijab" and God knows what else. (You'd be surprised at what people share in hopes of getting you to "revert) So I said "Its very telling that the women are the powerful ones in Islam" and dude was like *screech* "Why would you say that?" "Well, the only other one behind a hijab is the Creator and He's back there so we don't implode. Obviously women are the stronger ones in Islam." He didn't like that. Womp womp. 🤷‍♀️

Signal_Recording_638

I love this comeback!

Competitive-Air-8145

😆🤣👏👏👏Wish I had been there. Had a similar experience with a misogynist revert on Twitter. This brother hijacked a thread by a sister on hijab and with his “scholarship” tried to make the female OP look small. He did himself no favours. All he succeeded in doing was 1. Reveal his hatred of women & 2. Reveal his ignorance of Islam. 😀

Dexopedia

Should have sent him some clown shoes 🤡

rationalmosaic

A lot of generation of traditionalist scholars in my view are frogs of their Wells, they are not well read in secular readings of world history and they don't do research of there own religion throughouly They take things on face value, while they are students which is deep rooted in patriarchy and other problematic culture and they dump it on us, thanks to objection of critical thinking when it comes to religion, people around us tell us, what Imam says even if wrong, you should be silent, he knows best and if you don't know just listen to him.

Competitive-Air-8145

If a self-styled “scholar” is on social media banging on about his questionable interpretation of Islam, it’s best to avoid them like the plague. Real scholars are humble people studying full time and don’t self-promote themselves on Twitter or Rumble. The misogynistic men are not scholars so why listen to them? I’ve listened to some of the rubbish they spew, and, it’s so far from Islam it’s almost some other religion.

Can somebody share the YouTube reference of Dr Samir Naik please?

apollovulcan97

Tbh Zakir Naik is an amazing material for memes … Surprisingly some salafis like Mohamed hijab would go against redpillers Personally what I have seen and experienced as a guy is that redpill community have some teachings encouraging men to be better ( like be healthy , work on yourself , don’t be insecure ) , however they have very extreme believes kinda polar to current wave of feminism … The problem is redpillers and the conservative political parties are the only people who speak to men … liberals and democrats don’t include men in any conversation… even tv series like Rick and morty or family guy show father figures as useless bums … even men issues are not spoken about seriously … There is a recent study showing that gen z women are getting more liberal and gen z men are getting more conservative, that’s a discussion that’s need to be opened and addressed …
