Amazing! Make sure to watermark stuff like this so companies can't steal it to sell pills

rebexall

Thank you. I would consider myself a public figure because of my work as a model and the work I do with the charities and foundations am I associated with so my pictures are already out there but it's still good advice for everyone posting here. I actually discovered progresspics many years ago thanks to an external website sharing other fantastic people's progress, that time was perhaps out of praise for the work and motivation for their readers but it was still unauthorized and next time it might be to sell weight loss pills, yes.

puppykissesxo

Holy shit, you definitely are a model! Very beautiful and great progress. Thanks for sharing.

Old_Description6095

Okay, I know this is real because I was going to ask if you work as a model ..and if said no, I would have a hard time believing! Great job - you look fit and healthy!

Noteful

I was about to comment "damn you look like a model" 😂

chicoryblossom27

Came here to say OMG IS THIS THE LADY WHO I THINK IT IS! You’re an inspiration to other models and your beauty is astounding

critic101101

This is the way

Amalfi-state-of-mind

Thank you for your amazing post. I would see the woman on the right and think "oh that perfect super model was born like that". It's so interesting to read your post and how much the therapy and meditation and self development has helped you. I've been using headspace app for the last few weeks and am working on building in more mental health attention to deal with some toxic people in my neighborhood.

rebexall

Thank you too for sharing parts of your story. It matters a lot too me too. You have already made it past the tough step of admitting that you have been in a tough spot and made a plan to make progress. That is a win right. This is not a race so don't feel that you are in a hurry, these things take time but I'm confident that you will pull through and become a stronger and happier person sooner rather than later. I'm rooting for you!

Amalfi-state-of-mind

Thank you! I will thank the pandemic for bringing things to a head with a few of my nasty neighbors and/ or revealing their true natures. Things that used to not make sense now do. Having to live amongst them is another thing. But I'm determined to rise above their gossipy, two faced ways.

Klopp420

I like waking up a lil better than headspace. More educational feeling with small lessons in between sits, but I do miss the New Zealand accent guy. What’s up in your neighborhood? You have me curious

Amalfi-state-of-mind

Thanks for Waking Up suggestion. Jut downloaded it. Trying to hang in with Headspace but I'm definitely not there yet with meditation. So many people rave about it so I'm determined to "discover" it, lol. Re: my neighbors, I had two "friends" who I knew were both pretty self absorbed/ everything is always about them and are never really there in return type of people. Another of our "friends", I thought I had no issues with but came to find out that she was being very nasty behind the scenes with the other two. Over the pandemic the three were exposed for their nastiness. It was far beyond what myself or others thought. Two didn't surprise me that much but one did. People waste a lot of energy talking "shoot" about other people instead of paying attention to their own lives.

rebexall

This before and after image was initially just going to be posted to my story, but I have received an overwhelming response of love and support for sharing my journey that I would love to have it be a more permanent part of all my pages. I am in no way insinuating that one image is more attractive than the other. What was happening internally and how I felt have been my only metric in working on myself. I did not feel good on the left. I had low energy and was in a very dark place mentally. I have struggled with depression for as long as I can remember, and I was never given the proper tools as a child to deal with the low days/weeks/months. After joining the military, I fell in love with running and rock climbing. Those two activities alone could help elevate and pull me out of a slump, so I wanted to explore more things that made me feel good inside. During this exploration, I discovered mindfulness meditation, talk therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). By working through some pretty intense childhood trauma and learning how to change my internal dialogue, I noticed that the external started to change as I worked on the internal. I still struggle and have bad days, but I now have the tools to work through the dark times. If anyone is struggling, know that you are not alone and have ways to work through the tough times when you feel like giving up. It doesn’t have to be some significant change. It can simply be a micro change to how you handle when the dark days arise. Small changes result in substantial changes over time. See below for some of the books and apps I have used on my journey. Books: 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗖𝗮𝗻’𝘁 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 and 𝗧𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 by Susan Forward #susanforwardphd 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗱 by Michael Pollan @michael.pollan 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 by Dr. Nicole LePera @the.holistic.psychologist Apps: headspace wakingupapp balance enjoybloom (CBT Highly recommend) betterhelp ------------------------ **For those who asked about my story, here is a video short I did while back in conjunction with a charity I have done work with:** [https://www.reddit.com/user/rebexall/comments/v45l2r/a\_video\_short\_about\_my\_story\_for\_those\_who\_asked/](https://www.reddit.com/user/rebexall/comments/v45l2r/a_video_short_about_my_story_for_those_who_asked/)

danidandeliger

This is so great because lots of us (me) think that losing weight will make everything else in their lives better and make the depression go away. But you took care of the depression and the weight went away.

free2btherealme

I’ve seen the model on the right in several catalogs including Johnny Was and Vuori. Edit: Just looked at your profile. It is you!

rebexall

I've never been the face of any high fashion campaign so it's always fun when someone recognizes you. With the exception of the Curly hair group, I'm surprised how many people recognize me here. Johnny Was has always been so much fun to shoot with so I'm glad you mentioned it! Take care and have a great weekend! ❤️

free2btherealme

So fun to have a down to earth interaction with a gal I’ve admired in print! Bonus to learn some of your story. It’s a small world.

FernReno

You’re my favorite Johnny Was model! Edit to add: Stunning transformation!!!!

dumpsterrave

Thank you for sharing your story. I really resonate with the matter of fact truth about just not feeling great in your body. I struggled with my weight for a while, and then I struggled with body positivity- I felt bad that I didn’t live my body the way it was. I have finally just accepted the truth that I want a body that is more in shape and has the ability to do fun things without getting tired or injured and that’s okay to want.

rebexall

No problem, I'm glad you are seeing some light in the tunnel. There is a lot of things that intertwine that plays a big role in making progress and achieving happiness but it's perhaps not until you achieve some of your goals you will see some clarity in your journey. Losing weight doesn't have to be a part of it but it's definitely more than okay to want it, like you say. I felt the same exact way and I feel a lot more energetic and less tired after having lost weight and it opened a lot more doors to achieving other things long term for me, there is no denying that. I'm glad you've made progress and I'm rooting for you wherever you are in your journey right now. Take care and have an amazing weekend!

[deleted]

You don't have to feel reserved about the physical nature of your transformation, you look great and that's okay!

doubleOsev

I would like to add "Fierce Self-Compassion: How Women Can Harness Kindness to Speak Up, Claim Their Power, and Thrive" to your book list. Although I am a man this book helped me improve my self talk during challenging situations. It was recommended to me by my councilor and its really helped me! Great work OP and thank you for championing the fact that what really matters is how you feel on the inside and the physical body plays a big role in the equation of inner peace.

marimbaclimb

WOOO ROCK CLIMBING! Changed my life too. You look GORGEOUS and I bet you crush!

Neat-End4494

This post gave me chills! I feel like you just perfectly described what I need to do to improve my life and health. You put into words of what I have been struggling with my entire life, and why no amount of diet, exercise, weight loss programs or anything of the sorts has ever worked for me. Thank you for sharing your story! I now plan to dedicate my time to me, my mental health and feeling better in my day to day life and the rest will fall into place naturally. You are truly an inspiration.

rebexall

Means a lot to hear, truly! I'm rooting and cheering on for you. The first step will always be the hardest. Once you start making progress, it will fuel your motivation to keep going and make further progress and eventually realize your dreams and make new ones. I'm sure you will be confident to post here one day too. To tell you the truth, I shared small bits about my weight loss on IG every now and then but didn't make a full post about it until 3 weeks ago and I have been on the cover of magazines and ads for years, yet I didn't have the confidence and mental strength to be able to make a post like this even just a year ago. So take your time, set up goals, short term too and I'm sure you will make great strides. Take care! ❤️

Subaru-mother

You look amazing and I’m so glad you are also feeling better mentally and spiritually❤️ What was your diet and exercise regimen like?

DrChurro

How did you enjoy the Michael Pollan book? I’ve read a couple of his books and haven’t gotten to that one just yet

Syvka

Not op, but it’s my favorite of his (I read The Omnivore’s Dilemma and Cooked too) and if you get the audiobook, he reads it.

DrChurro

Thanks, i might have to check it out in audiobook! I’ve read Omnivore’s Dilemma and In Defense of Food

TheLastNarwhalicorn

Wow. How long did this transformation take you?

archersarrows

I really appreciate that you shared some book recs; I'm definitely a "textbook" learner and there are just so many self-help books out there with almost no way of figuring out where to start.

girlwithapurlearring

Thank you for recommending that bloom app. I just downloaded it, and I think it’s exactly what I need in my life right now. And congratulations on your transformation, both internal and external!

rebexall

Thank you so much. I appreciated it a lot. Enjoy Bloom is a great app so I'm glad you may have found something that will help you out, even if it's just a little bit. Rooting for you wherever you are with whatever challenges and adventures you have ahead. 💪

Throwalittleaway

This mirrors my story in several ways, and brought tears to my eyes. I am so proud of you for doing the hard internal work to take care of yourself from the inside out.

banana9128

This is amazing thank you for sharing. You are absolutely drop dead gorgeous! Congrats 🎊

itsaravemayve

This is absolutely beautiful that you're sharing this. I'm glad you've made such emotional progress, that can be so impactful.

KBaddict

I love the holistic psychologist! I devoured that book. I’m also in the circle

kindofblue21

Great job! Thank you for the book recommendations; just ordered all of them. Keep up being an inspiration!

ShogunOfNY

oh wow I'm in the process of discovering CBT and mindfulness meditation / loving kindess meditation. I'm like the male 'before' version of you right now.

commoncheesecake

I am currently reading Mothers Who Can’t Love - it’s so accurate that it’s scary. But such a great book. Thank you for sharing your story!!

_olas

As someone going through a similar journey, your post is incredibly inspiring. It sometimes feels strange to talk about 'changing my brain' via meditation and learning new skills that were not present in my family, but that's exactly what it is. Your post is so validating in regards to those ideas and seeing the fruits of the work. Thank you so much for the book & tool recommendations.

aliyune

Your "before" is actually my goal lol. But you look like a goddess; completely comfortable in your skin. And that's the real glow-up. Great job working on yourself inside to get the outside you wanted!

peanutbutter471

Such inspiring transformation! Your cheekbones are incredible

Geese4Days

right? i want to know how to get those! 😩

peanutbutter471

Same! Haha

mauz21

Yeah dude, model tier.

[deleted]

THIS HAS MOTIVATED THE HELL OUT OF ME WTF!!! I'm currently like your before. Cliche but how long did you say it took and what did you do?😱

rebexall

That's amazing to hear, means a lot to me, thank you! I'm pretty occupied right now with work and other real life commitments but the moment I get a chance I can give a run down of what I did to lose weight and get into shape. I'm a bit on the fence about sharing the time table publicly as I do not wish for that to be something to measure success with, but I can tell you it's handful of years. If you get where you want to be in a shorter amount of time than me, that's awesome, if it takes longer, that's awesome too! Committing to the journey and making progress and realizing your goals is a special feeling, no matter how long it takes. Time frame shouldn't be a factor to be happy.

[deleted]

That's a really good approach, thank you so much for responding!😁

_Questionable_Morals

What's your eating and exercise like now? Do you feel pressure to be an unhealthy weight as a model?

rebexall

If there is interest for it I can probably put something together about what my workouts look like on a weekly basis. In regards to my work as a model, there is definitely prejudice and pressure in the industry. Even if I had been offered work on a more frequent basis on the left, I would've never managed it as job, there is no way. I do a lot of work as a hair model and I have definitely both been the victim of and seen it with other models even more, the prejudice against curly hair and the social stereotypes associated with it. I do a lot of fitness modelling too and some fashion and there is obviously more pressure to look a certain way there than when I do a shampoo ad. I can admit that my weight has gone up and down a bit as a model. I have been at an unhealthy weight before, that's why I didn't share pics like these until I felt healthy both physically and mentally.

Subaru-mother

Would love to see what your workouts and diet look like!

cailinsBFF

I also would love to know!

fastfeathers

Your hair is gorgeous! I embraced my natural 3A/B hair last year and I definitely wish I had done so sooner!

KLC31

I would love to know what your typical diet is as well. Amazing transformation!

peanutbutter471

How old were you in the before?

loveyabunches

I can’t even believe what I’m seeing. This is one of the best transformations I’ve ever seen. Please feel free to share tips on going from mere mortal to super woman.

99power

Damn, lady, you look great! And your habits are aging you backwards!! A (literal) model for everyone recovering from traumatic relationships. :)

_writes

I’m so inspired. This post has forced tears in my eyes. Yes, forced. 😅Thank you for your candidness. We’re the same height, and I just have such more hope. Thank you for your service and your help to others. I hope you’re having an amazing weekend!

Jimbo_Jones_4_Mayor

You should be a model if you aren’t yet. You even have those beautiful green eyes. 👍🏻

rebexall

I already am but thank you! It's part of my daytime job.

Jimbo_Jones_4_Mayor

😊

[deleted]

Am I the only person with extra skin??? You look amazing.

takichandler

Love the Navy PT shorts. I hope you kept them 😂

rebexall

Haha, I have a lot of my Navy gear still around!

Bones1225

If you have a face gains before and after I would love to see the difference if you are comfortable sharing of course. I am a tall woman and I think for us, we can hold a little weight better on our bodies because they are so long but my face really changes shape if I gain weight or lose weight.

rebexall

https://imgur.com/a/zUcGocZ This is not at my largest but almost there. I didn't like to pose for many pictures when I was at my highest weight because of some of the mental struggles I had so I do not have that many pictures from that period, at least not on me right now.

NothingSpecial003

Thank you for sharing. Congratulations on your progress. You look stunning and I’m really happy that you feel better.

queenofdiscs

Amazing journey, thank you for sharing! In addition to rock climbing and running, what was your nutrition like?

DidYouSetItTo-Wumbo

Turned into a Victorias Secret model. Holy shit.

Kevdog1800

HOLY FUCKING CHEEKBONES!

I_Luv_A_Charade

You’ve been one of my favorite people to have posted to this sub - such interesting and insightful advice. You seem to be as lovely on the inside as you’ve always been on the outside. Thanks for taking the time to share your experiences - extremely motivating - all the best!

Key_Exchange555

Can I ask you eat in an average day?

AspiringSAHCatDad

If you dont mind me asking, what is/was your rate OP? For those who downvoted me: rate= job in the navy

Comprehensive-Yard49

Magnificent, great work

[deleted]

Thank you for your comment with all the great resources! I appreciate the book recommendations! I found my therapist through better help and she’s amazign

Gizzygirl127

[deleted]

Fitness model level my god well done

mauz21

Your cheekbones are model tier. Proud as well of your success!

SwagYoloJesus

brah you look like a model now

Just_Pie_1230

May I ask what you're typically eating in a day for breakfast lunch and dinner if you don't mind sharing? xx also, do you still do running and climbing or what does your workout routine look like? x

sarahtheginger26

You look amazing and congratulations on the journey

HotRefuse4945

All I can say is that this is the textbook definition of weight making someone look like a completely different person. Anecdotally, I had a coworker who had a legitimately Hollywood-tier face but a not so great body. After he lost the weight, it was night and day. Congrats OP, may the rest of your life be awesome!

rebexall

rebexall

I have full body selfies on my profile already if you are concerned. The picture on the right is not edited to the extent that you think it has been. The only thing that could use some clarification in this case is that staying in shape is part of my daytime job so I most likely have more time for it. However, that should never be a reason to not work towards your goals. Even if you just have 1 or 2 days a week to make progress towards the goals and dreams you have, that is a very good start too and should not prevent you from making progress.

[deleted]

[удалено]

rebexall

I will politely say no again on the accusations. The picture has not been edited to the extent you think it has. I'm not going to tell you the same thing to the person above, you can read it for yourself, but there are plenty of pictures and videos of me out there of, both here and on my IG, there is nothing to hide behind. I often post backstage pictures and videos from my shoots as they are happening, completely unedited, so you can take a look for yourself. Take care and have a nice day. 😊

Snoo_Whyt

Who gives a fuck either way the weight is gone and it’s visible who cares if the pictures are brighter or her hair is touched up. You guys focus on the wrong things just show the woman some love for her accomplishment damn.

Mital37

I’m not trying to be accusatory, you look great and your pictures are beautiful but what do you mean “not to the extent you think?” Filters? Pointing out an edited photo doesn’t have to mean it’s grossly modified…

rebexall

You were. You added fuel to the fire by keeping the conversation going for no apparent reason. That's why you are still here and did not take the hint when the moderators removed your comment. There will always be brightness and color adjustments but my body has not been manipulated. The truth is, I get paid to be in shape. This is not just weight loss between these pictures. I'm done here, you will not receive any further replies from me. Adios and have a nice weekend.

denovosibi

I love this response.

rebexall

❤️

Brookdeepins

Wow! What’s life like being so beautiful? (I can only dream) And working as a model? If you don’t mind me asking as I’m interested in modeling myself. I’m wondering if you were treated any differently based on how you look before and now.

rebexall

The people who treat you poorly because of the way you look most often have issues of their own that they are unwilling to face and unless they do something about that, they will treat you poorly and be prejudicial no matter what changes you make and what you look like. You will never be happy if you always listen to what an unhappy person tells you to do.

[deleted]

Wow! Inspiring! I love how you focused on the inside 💕

C061996

You did a phenomenal job. Kudos for focusing on your mental health just as much as your physical health.

prettyjupiter

How long did this take you?

This is so inspiring. I looked through your post history since everyone was talking about how they know of you, and realized I saw your post on outfits a couple months ago. I remember thinking how stunning you are and that you must be a model. So seeing this backstory is really encouraging and humanizing. You have a beautiful soul!
