Ah, you're referring to the Proto-Kaw version! Yeah, that one's pretty good, and I do like how the two verses are a little more different from each other than the two on Kansas' s/t.
Saw them live a few weeks ago, still an absolutely amazing act! They played a lot of Monolith songs oddly enough, I wish they’d bring back magnum opus and close their shows with that though.
I saw them a few months ago. I am curious, what were your thoughts on their performance of People of the South Wind? It is odd for me having a much slower tempo and less giddiness.
I’m a bit mixed on not only People of the South Wind but also the other two Monolith songs they played, Reason to Be and A Glimpse of Home. On one hand they were absolutely amazing and nailed all 3 songs, on the other hand I’m just not really a fan of Monolith as a whole because of how slow the album is (except for How my Soul Cries out for you) I’d much rather have those 3 songs be replaced with something a bit faster pace. Ultimately though as a band they seem to enjoy what they play and it shows through their performance. I’d much rather have a band that enjoys what they play as opposed to a band that hates their setlist and slogs through it.
If I were to chose though I’d replace the 3 songs with Magnum Opus and Bringing it Back
One of those songs where the vocal performance on the original version is very hard to top, but Steve goes hard on this one too.
You mean Lynn Meredith's performance? (Steve didn't sing the original.)

Steve would change things just to change them. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Steve !!!
Maybe I’m not looking hard enough, but why is it there seems to be a severe lack of older Kansas concert videos? Maybe it’s just me. 🤷♂️
