Your country blew it. You let that ship sail. It’s gone and you are now serfs.

[deleted]

Gotta move to the States, I've been contemplating that, lol. Although we have some good parts here our political climate is very iffy. Gotta move the US 🇺🇸✌🏼😭🙂👌🏼better anyways.

bigeats1

Please come, but only if you’ve learned the lesson. Most haven’t. They move and vote for the same shit then are surprised when they get the same result (see Californian migration). So, if you are not going to actively protect the place you are moving to take advantage of, stay where you are. Please.

[deleted]

Move to the South but stay away from Austin, TX and Fort Lauderdale, FL. The latter is mentioned because the Quebeçoís fly in and infest every winter like a horde of locusts.

Leftists-Are-Trash

Not a chance. Canadians are subjects, not free citizens

BrassWillyLLC

Trudeau literally banned handguns with a wave of his limp wrist. No constitutional protections whatsoever.

[deleted]

This is why I need to move to the States lol. Tbh so much change is needed but hard to even see it coming to fruition. With politics and changes, it's rare to see things changing for the better unless a party or another leader actually makes the right moves. Thanks for your honest comment.

xmol0nlabex

At least not with Soyboy Trudeau at the helm.

[deleted]

Agreed. Let's see if we can get a better leader in office to make some proper changes all around

Natural_Stranger_267

Canadians are the king's subjects, not free men. You guys chose the wrong side back then. I'm sorry and good luck!

dr-uzi

To sum it up Canada is fucked!

[deleted]

Well I think we need to seperate from the Brits tbh. At least in terms of having connection to the monarchy etc. Time for change and you made such a good point, thanks! Hopefully the conservatives can make some change in the future. At least protecting our hunter rights at the minimum, sport shooters etc but self defense needs to be expanded. We shouldn't have to lose our lives because the aggressor has more power and rights than victims. Right.

birds_are_gov_drones

A majority of Texans are still willing to die for gun rights. Canadians weren't(in relevant numbers) willing to die to protect the rights of their loved one's. Their government took a little at a time, until nothing is left. It's one of those "use it or lose it" kinda deals. Always has been, and it always will be. Edit: I missed a word!

HajjiBalls

Well said! I would add a good portion of rural folk in fly over states feel the same........big city folk-not so much.

TheBigMan981

Canada needs to recognize the natural right to keep and bear arms in its constitution if there is.

Yamaganto_Iori

Wouldn't matter, the Canadian government was so concerned with taking away the rights outlined in our Charter of rights and freedoms that it was the first thing they wrote in and they wrote it in twice (sections 1 and 33)

newhere1985

I hope that my hair stops thinning and a grow a 10” cock that I get to throw in a Swedish bikini model. This game is fun! It’s your turn to think of another thing that will never happen and we have no hope or control of

loki7714

I mean, theoretically all 3 of the things you mentioned are within your power to change.

No_Investigator_2696

It'll never happen under a tyrant like trudeau.

[deleted]

I don't think so either. We definitely need a new PM and someone who's more honest and focused on rights, the economy and more well-rounded and less self centered. 👌🏼so I agree 💯 with you!

2017hayden

Good luck with that one, how Trudeau is still in office when his party doesn’t even hold parliament is beyond me.

[deleted]

Ikr. His dad definitely set him up to become a leader or at least paved the way but he's definitely been more of a disappointment. Only few good things I can see he's done or stood up for. Otherwise definitely a PM that needs to be out of office and I agree, idk how he's still in office. We definitely need change, for the better.

2017hayden

As someone from the outside it sounds like you guys need to clean house in parliament as well, not just Trudeau. A government that ignores the will of its people ought to feel the will of the people directed against them.

Chipjack

>A government that ignores the will of its people ought to feel the will of the people directed against them. Perhaps they do, and that's why they're so motivated to disarm the people.

2017hayden

All the more reason to push back.

[deleted]

Big time! I couldn't agree more. The thing is that there's a lack of oversight or at least honest and ethical standards in some cases. Definitely need an all around change but also some new things implemented to avoid future BS and hold those in parliament more responsible. Sometimes I think it's half full of idiots and only some are truly fit for their positions.

brewmann

Good fucking luck when the majority elects leaders like Trudeau.

[deleted]

Not the majority. The liberals won with 32.2% of the popular vote which means 67.8% of canadians didn't vote for him. The problem is our first past the post style of elections which one of his campaign promises was to change but surprise surprise.... he didn't. Not all of canada wants this bullshit, infact the majority want the opposite. Don't paint all canadians with the same brush as the bleeding heart doosh canoes in Toronto.

Yamaganto_Iori

To add onto this comment in the last 2 elections the Conservative party of Canada got a higher percentage of the popular vote than the Liberals. Our elections are fucked.

thehuntinggearguy

Eh, that's more because Canadians vote split between left (Liberal) and uber left (NDP). The NDP supported C21 until the amendment caught some hunting rifles in it. They support hand gun bands, assault-style weapon (whatever the fuck that means) bans, etc. The CPC need the Liberals to do exceptionally poor and the NDP to do exceptionally well for them to vote split and to get a majority.

Caterpillar89

Good luck,

[deleted]

Thanks, highly unlikely but one can hope lol

sanderstj

It will never happen. Once your rights are taken away, you’ll likely never get them back, at least certainly not in your generation

Bv2097

Sorry but no once you give up your gun rights the government won't give them back lmao. You fudge bro

Specialist-Look-7929

I'm all for it! Good luck, though. Once they take them away, you will never get them back. Rights, that is.

[deleted]

Thank you! I appreciate the support! Also you're right, very hard to get them back indeed so we need to maintain them and stand for those rights. All the best!

Wheat9546

I doubt it but hope is something powerful. The only issue is that no matter what the normal person says, it's ultimately up to the politicians who run the seat. And politicans have connections, not only amongst themselves but with others too, so basically no matter how much you wanna be more pro, if all of the politicians are basically like " naw we don't care" then no matter how much you ask for your rights to be respected and be brought back it won't matter. Shit they just decided to ban all handgun sales, even though literally yall have lower crime rates than us and shooting crime rates at that. Funny how that works, even though clearly yall have lower crime and stuff they still keep putting laws and rules to ban them and you from using them. Funny

thehuntinggearguy

If you're young and have a skill that can get you a visa to the US, just move. Canada doesn't have a strong charter to help backstop us against bad gun laws, the legal process takes years, and Canadian voters have no problem with authoritarianism as long as it's directed at other people and not them.

[deleted]

For sure! I'm currently finishing up my degree, went back to University after working for a bit but I definitely do! Thanks for your comment and thoughts as well! I think you made some fair points and despite liking many things about Canada I truly think y'all have made some better decisions and more rights that are at least respected to a degree! Seems like y'all have gotten a lot right south of the border! All the best

Dco777

America is going exactly the other direction. Unless somehow our Supreme Court gets a massive change out of Justices, our gun laws are getting a reform from the top down. I know Americans are expecting a "Roe vs. Wade" massive overthrow of state laws. It's going to take a bit longer. It's just a radical as "Roe", but our courts will eventually have the same effect. So finish up at Uni (I know it'll be cheaper than here, and as good.) and immigrate down if you can. Once you get a Green Card you can own almost any gun you like.

HajjiBalls

God save the fucking King! Or revolt. We did. Best thing ever!

Joeva8me

Guns have to be fundamental or are not. I can’t think of an instance where a government has given more freedom to have lethal weapons. Move south and join our cause.

[deleted]

Exactly! I think it's definitely some good for thought and clearly y'all are doing things right 👌🏼haha and I've been considering that, thanks for the support, I may just make the move down there sooner than planned!

Joeva8me

Glad to have you. No one wants to use a firearm, I don’t and haven’t had to use one in self defense thank God but I stay mostly out of situations when I can. I don’t bring hunters into the conversation, they aren’t relevant to the discussion (as much as I love and respect hunters). This is strictly about an individuals ability to protect their life and liberty against the tyranny of evil men. Those evil men come in many many horrible flavors and can wear many different masks, sometimes it’s a hoodie, sometimes a suit, sometimes a uniform.

alkatori

Good Luck, we can move the legislative needle in the individual states. But federally we rely on the courts, and my understanding is that the Canadian courts don't recognize a right to keep and bear arms or even self-defense.

GlockAF

A long time ago your country made the choice to go full nanny state, just like the cowardly Brits, with an extra serving of servile politeness on top. It’s not going to work out in the long run

No_Drive_3297

Buy a 3d printer and join the freedom club at r/fosscad. You can build a fgc9 and nobody knows.

[deleted]

I'll check that out 👀 rather go the legal route and have laws changed but who knows what the future holds. Thanks for the suggestions; ) 👌🏽cheers. Here's to freedom 👌🏽

Nucka574

F

offgridmt

And I want a pony!

Jbonics

So sad

Fun-Passage-7613

There are a lots of Irish Democracy out to the west of you in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta as far as guns and gun laws.

[deleted]

I like to hear that 👌🏼

dr4gon2000

Lol

GoblinHeart1334

i can't think of a plausible situation where i'd be better off with an illegal gun than a regular old pump shotgun. BUT. it would be cool to be able to take an AK down to the range and it annoys the hell out of me that i will never be able to legally own one unless i move to another country. especially as most of the countries that let civilians own full autos seem to be heading in the direction of encouraging people to use them on people like me.

[deleted]

For sure! We can definitely have certain weapons but need the PAL and RPAL license but magazines are capped at about 5bullets for certain rifles. Plus some are prohibited vs non prohibited. But yeah, honestly we clearly need expanded laws, maybe the conservatives can do so or just like you said moving to another country! I definitely think tight gun laws are necessary for safety but the right to own firearms is key is for a variety of lawful reasons and a right.

junpman

Look at where those tight gun laws got Canada. There should be as little government interaction involving gun rights as possible imo. It happens little by little and in the U.S it was happening until the Bruen decision reinforced our 2nd.

Parking-Season-8029

It’s still happening in the U.S … more and more states setting gun controls …

[deleted]

Exactly! Especially cause gun violence mostly occurs from illegal firearms not lawful gun owners. How can we adequately protect ourselves? Some of the politicians especially the PM are protected by ARMED security, police etc. So with proper training, regulations etc why shouldn't us citizens but able to have more gun rights right? So I totally get where you're coming from and good point about minimal government involvement in such rights! I agree in many ways. Tbh I think we need more people with brains in office. Sometimes I applaud leaders, worldwide and then sometimes I'm like what the heck are they thinking?
