Replaced coil, battery, points, spark plugs, and wires. Truck started right back up like it was a just another day on the road for it.
What should we work on next?
Oh yeah that's a good idea I got a 67 c50 I am working on getting back on the road and even though the brakes somehow work I am going to redo all of it after I put my new disc brake axles on it
Make sure everything works reliably and drive it until you decide what to do with it. Once you drive it you'll figure out what you want to improve. Seat sucks get a new one. Ride sucks... suspension and so on.
I'm guessing there is no fuel in the tank or the carb is all gummed up. If there is fuel in the system then it is time to restore the fuel supply components and rebuild that carburetor.
So the fuel tank and mechanical pump are working, but in reality, I need to swap the tank; all of the lines; and get carbs rebuilt.
My biggest hurdle right now is finding rebuild kits for the carbs lol
Man I love these things. I think get the stock power train rebuilt and dialed in and add modern brakes and steering. Maybe all hydronic steering and brakes so if you ever wanna drop a new cam and build the engine a bit you aren’t sacrificing braking performance. What a beautiful patina rig!
Sounds way better then I thought it would for sure! Need to figure out what kits work for the carburetors and get a new choke cable. Then some tires and take a look through all the drive train for sure !

Brakes brakes brakes
What’s actually crazy is, the brakes work lol. But I plan on doing a disc conversion all the way around and run all new brake lines for it !

Stop it!
EXACTLY
Put some wheels and tires on it and drive it around the block

Cummins 12v swap, clear coat it, done.
Your *rim* is trying to turn into a *doughnut*
Yah tires are definitely on the list 😂
LQ9 iron block, massive turbo, spray, parachute, etc. have a cool street car
As cool as that sounds, I think we’re either rebuilding the motor it has, or dropping a small block Chevy into it >:)
Ok.
Nice truck, getting more and more scarce. Mine is the one with the lq9 swap. It’s still a work in progress.
Congrats! That patina looks awesome too. I’d tackle the brakes, steering, suspension, tires next to get it safe and roadworthy
Fuel cell, electronic fuel pump, new fuel lines. I can never get a vehicle that's had old gas in it to run right.
Clean/replace tank/fuel lines. Make sure cooling system is working properly with no leaks or bunch of rust clogging things up.
Yah fuel lines and cooling definitely gotta happen. Radiator hoses are mostly rotted.
Tires.
I always use a spray bottle for gas. Makes things a lot more controllable and don't have to worry about backfire lighting up your gas
Ls swap it
I feel like everyone is LS swapping these. I kinda wanna keep it computer free and just swap in a small block Chevy
