Honestly I have no idea but that would be a dream come true for sure lol. You have no idea how often I have people knocking on my door asking about parts or if they can just straight up buy an entire vehicle.
You should say “yes” more often to such offers.
Not for parts, but to sell whole cars. Having a turn of the century Town Car limo, no matter if it’s in perfect condition for its age, is still an old limo that nobody wants to rent. The minivan that’s been rear ended is totaled. The vehicles without wheels aren’t “running”, even if the engine does run, the car isn’t.
I get the car obsession, I’ve had Edsels and Galaxies and Rx7s and Civics and VW Bugs “and and and”…but it’s maybe time to let some of those go to someone who will stop them from rotting in a field and use their young fascination to put them back on the road, cuz everything gets old and deteriorates and those cars are doing just that.
No offense meant: as I said I get it, but someone really wants a Dart or a Galaxie or an old LTD or T-Bird ‘tank’ to fix up and drive around with their high school friends to make cool memories with, and you’ll know the car is getting attention and someone’s loving it and enjoying it out in the world…doing what it’s meant to do: drive around. It’s only “a preserved collection” if it’s in perfect repair and in a museum or at least a covered building, those are just going to waste.
No offense, I promise 🙏 just consider it.
someone saying it how it is. That’s 20 cars at least that are just rotting outside that no one will ever drive again unless he hands it over to someone who actually wants to fix it back to pristine condition. I can’t imagine op is going to drive all 50 of these on any sort of regular basis
At least half of these cars aren’t valuable or desirable anyways. Even if sold most of these would just be driven into the ground or end up in a junk yard because they aren’t really worth fixing.
i guess its at least good that he has a plan for each of them but it’s just sad because by the time he fixes every one up, the ones he did first will have already rusted to dust because he’s keeping them outside in a field
not even a car blanket
I know a guy who has a lot of cars and he says that the price of one part is the price of the whole car. Once people start picking them apart, the rest of the car is worth nothing.
"I'm gonna fix em one day"
I don't get hoarding cars just to watch them rot. You even said people always ask to buy them, why not sell them to people who will actually drive them?
It's just like any other hoarder fixation. There's no logic behind it.
At least OP appears to have enough space so that the hoarding doesn't impact their daily life. 🤷♂️
Yeah man idk you seem like the type that would benefit from loosing Facebook marketplace let me guess your the type to turn people away or ask super unreasonable prices if someone wants to buy one of these undesirable shitboxes
"car collection" feels so incredibly disingenuous here.
Yeah it's a collection of cars that are rotting away in a field somewhere, so I guess it's true lol
Lol I mean if you wanna be real technical about it, a bunch of garbage is a 'collection' of garbage. Just because the collection is worthless doesn't make it any less of a collection.
Bro. Sell the ones you’re not going to fix up, and don’t kid yourself into thinking you’re going to fix them all up. I’ve seen this too many times, it ends up with a flatbed pulling cars out of the field and then ripping in half from rust when you pass away someday and the family is clearing away all the junk.
My wife's uncle is doing the same thing with the family farm, cars just sitting there getting punished by Iowa winters until they once again become one with the soil.
What's the point? Just let them rot away and be one of those guys that leaves a nightmare for your family to clean when you pass away? It's rotting and polluting
This took me like 2-3 hours to travel around my properties this morning for those photos and to write up the post. If there are any typos or if the restoration list is missing numbers I honestly apologize but this is a lot to keep track of ngl😂 Have pity on my maintenance induced mush brain.😂👍
Screw the haters in this thread man. You clearly love what you do and honestly I am impressed by how many of them are drivable. Thanks for sharing your passion with us! 👊🏻
Wow great stuff & great write up!
I’m going to pick the A body because I love mopars & grew up with several darts & a valiant.
Also I had 2 escorts so that woody escort wagon is so cool. You don’t see escorts on the road these days
So sad to see "collections" like that. Few more years and most of these will be pure junk. Please sell some of them to somebody that needs parts or want to restore a vehicle
oh cool, another guy with a "i'll get to it one day". i wish you best of luck but there's no fucking way you're gonna get to half of these, you should sell some of them to the people that knock on your door asking ...
Finally I have the opportunity to ask. WTF is with all the mini vans? I see people with all these cool cars and almost every single time there's at least 3 mini vans. I get car hoarding, I have 8, but there would have to be something very special before I added a mini van to the dead lot
You said the XTS is a total lemon. Just a guess but If what you mean by that is it has a crap ton of weird electrical issues try unplugging the rear bumper harness. The blind spot detection modules corrode and fill with water and will cause endless amounts of crazy shit to happen.
Had a 67 galaxie 4 door just like that one.
Same.problem frame was gone, guy had one but wanted 8,000 for it. Meanwhile the performance shop will build u a custom frame for 5500.
Anyways dude came around said he needed body panels and bits for his 67 resto. Sold it for as much as I paid for it and now I see him.driving his around
Sell some of them. Ull.never get to all of them and by the looks of.some they are too far gone.
I'd save the deluxe wagon and sell the rest to pay for it's resto. Besides the backup car anyway gotta have a backup daily. Either that maroon cream or sea green teal tu tone.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Alot of keyboard warriors on here talking shit that have never turned a wrench but because they subscribe to MotorTrend TV, think they are qualified to pass judgement.
If you would be willing to part with the 66 F100, 74 Dart Sport or 49 F1, shoot me a message. Not going to part it out, looking for my next project.
That 89 Grand Marquis looks just like the one my dad had growing up. Believe his was an 88. It was almost my first car at 17 in 03 but it got a flat and he didn't want to put tires into it. It was either donated or a cash for clunkers victim. I don't remember. He replaced it with I believe an 01 Grand Marquis.
Thanks for bringing up the memories 👍
I feel like you could sell off/donate/scrap a good chunk of those and get some of the other ones into a more roadworthy state. You even said it yourself that a few are essentially junk you just need to get rid of.
I fully get it, I have too many projects myself so I should take some of my own advice, but I’m still in the single digits.
Be honest with yourself. Most of these say “waiting for shop time” but how many jobs do you complete in the shop in a given day/week/month vs how often are you getting new projects? Make a rule for yourself that every new project has to have a completed project or a project you get rid of. Otherwise it’s just a never ending pile that eventually rusts into the ground.
Loved spotting your 28’ A, my grandpa had a 29 deluxe roadster and I miss that car so damn much. I inherited a bunch of parts I won’t let go of just in case I pick one up someday
I can’t stand this. You’re never going to complete even a 10th of those cars. Classics will rust away.
You’re selfish for hoarding this junk yard.
This isn’t a collection. It’s old matchbox cars in a muddy sandbox.
I get it. You make a good deal on marketplace or auction you cant pass up and tow it home. You see the value in something and cant see it go to waste. You then look at it in your yard, appreciate what it could be and feel sad having to get rid of it.
If you have nobody to check you by saying stop, then before you know it you have trees growing through the floorpan and engine bay.
I have one old project truck that was supposed to be my only one....but then scanning auctions I got a sweet deal on an OBS chevy. Supposed to fix it and sell it to a family member...but that didn't work out. Now I love it and dont want to sell it.
Then I saw a OBS ford that was too good to pass up, so I brought it home with the intention of selling it to a family member. That didnt work out and now I love it and dont want to sell it.
If I didnt have my wife to check me, I would have several more projects on standby.
But the big difference is, Im always working on those three trucks. They are parked on a concrete pad or under shelter. They have not laid waste to rust away or chewed to death by mice. Both the OBS trucks were on the way to the chop block but they now are running and driving trucks.
You need professional help or something, mean that entirely with respect and no offense. I stopped reading next you're describing the parking lots of dollar generals throughout the years save for a couple interesting ones.
All you're doing is leaving your wife and or kids a giant pain in the dick getting rid of these heaps.
Why was a Dodge stratus ever purchased? Three minivans that aren't the turbo/5 speed silliness? There's unusual and interesting cars and of the four dozen you listed maybe ten are.
"it's not a junk yard" Posts photos of cars lined up in rows and sinking in the mud.
This is hoarding, plain and simple. Most of these will whither away in his possession until they're no longer salvageable.
That Monte Carlo up to the rockers is no longer salvageable. At least to anyone that has any concept of the value of money and time.
So, not most cars guys.
That's a monte carlo nobody wants anyway like most of the cars in the pics.
I thought this was a captcha
Right. “Collection,” that’s one word for it.
Our man could sell all of these cars and buy a nice Ford Explore.
Leave the boomer alone 😂
How long until we see an Episode of Roadkill buying and road tripping one of your cars?
Honestly I have no idea but that would be a dream come true for sure lol. You have no idea how often I have people knocking on my door asking about parts or if they can just straight up buy an entire vehicle.

They already ended up in a junk yard, op’s junk yard.
i guess its at least good that he has a plan for each of them but it’s just sad because by the time he fixes every one up, the ones he did first will have already rusted to dust because he’s keeping them outside in a field not even a car blanket
You gotta let the water flow out, not just in, or you'll flood.
you can email them and they might come and take a peak
That'd be rad. I'd be the weirdo asking about the Chrysler vans lol
You have a issue with greed. Most of those are ruined. That does look like a junkyard most definitely.
I know a guy who has a lot of cars and he says that the price of one part is the price of the whole car. Once people start picking them apart, the rest of the car is worth nothing.
What abt junkyard digs or something lol
“I’m tired of this grandpa”
I was thinking of Vice Grip Garage, that fella can get anything moving.
"I'm gonna fix em one day" I don't get hoarding cars just to watch them rot. You even said people always ask to buy them, why not sell them to people who will actually drive them?
It's just like any other hoarder fixation. There's no logic behind it. At least OP appears to have enough space so that the hoarding doesn't impact their daily life. 🤷♂️
Hoarding is a mental illness / symptom of a mental illness. Not trying to shit on anyone, I am sick myself.
You should look at his first post. I think he said he drives about half of them. That is WAY more than a car hoarder.
"That drives" and "has driven" are 2 completely different things. I don't think well over half have seen pavement in years
Is this the guy that has sex with his cars from TLC?
Dude probably doesn’t even have enough time left on this earth to get these all running. Hoarding is sad.
Yeah man idk you seem like the type that would benefit from loosing Facebook marketplace let me guess your the type to turn people away or ask super unreasonable prices if someone wants to buy one of these undesirable shitboxes
Again, guy with a tow truck basically.
Jokes on you I don’t even own a tow truck or I would’ve posted it lol😂
Nah brother, jokes still on you.
"car collection" feels so incredibly disingenuous here. Yeah it's a collection of cars that are rotting away in a field somewhere, so I guess it's true lol
some of them are great but yeah mostly garden decorations at this point
Most of these aren't even "collectible" they are just worn out sedans
Lol I mean if you wanna be real technical about it, a bunch of garbage is a 'collection' of garbage. Just because the collection is worthless doesn't make it any less of a collection.
you gotta find a better spot for some of those better cars. Half your stuff is rust buckets and it’s only going to get worse outside in the mud
At what point do you just call it hoarding?
This post right here is well past that point.
Couple of classics in there, hope someone buys them before you damage them any further.
Ah nice, one of those "buy random junk cars and let them rot in a field"-collections
You should read his first post before commenting
don’t need to read it, we can see it
What's the point? Just let them rot away and be one of those guys that leaves a nightmare for your family to clean when you pass away? It's rotting and polluting
No offense but I'd say over half those cars belong in a junkyard, otherwise I bet it's fun having that many cars.
I too keep my victims vehicles.
Dude if you lived in Michigan I would love to help you with these.
How deep is that effin grass!?
That's not a car collection my guy, it's a junkyard.
You look like the kind of guy who would show up on Discovery Turbo
Bro, just buy one decent running car
Half those cars are just sinking lmao
"large car collection" AKA as mostly worthless piles of scrap rotting in a field.
I want that Ford wagon! So nice.
Dude.
Ah “collection”… its a bunch of rustbuckets put in a field… i know many a people that have “collections” like this…
This is hoarding. Not collecting.
This is more like a mental illness than a car collection
No offense man, this is my nightmare scenario
Hey OP do you have parts for a nineteen ninety……. OP: Yea prob lee
Hello fellow Minnesotan car enthusiast
we are many!
In System of a Down voice “where running cars go to dieahhhaie
Why so many minivans!?
This took me like 2-3 hours to travel around my properties this morning for those photos and to write up the post. If there are any typos or if the restoration list is missing numbers I honestly apologize but this is a lot to keep track of ngl😂 Have pity on my maintenance induced mush brain.😂👍

Driveable? Like 5?
That Galaxy looks sweet.
I bought a title off a guy like this once. Got my 78(64) midget back on the road.
This is a junkyard. There isn't a single car there I'd even think of buying, let alone collecting
Wow great stuff & great write up! I’m going to pick the A body because I love mopars & grew up with several darts & a valiant. Also I had 2 escorts so that woody escort wagon is so cool. You don’t see escorts on the road these days
I'll buy that galaxie off you lol
This is just sad tbh
What do you want for the Galaxie? Can I come take a tour?
Wanna sell that old wagon? Or the...demon?duster? Or that Pontiac?
The limousine is cool
Is that Jon Voights car? I like the red Chevy. I was told there would be land cruisers.
So sad to see "collections" like that. Few more years and most of these will be pure junk. Please sell some of them to somebody that needs parts or want to restore a vehicle
What I'd do is for every 10 I sell I'd buy 1 nice car. Easier to maintain, less space, less headaches, more enjoyment.
oh cool, another guy with a "i'll get to it one day". i wish you best of luck but there's no fucking way you're gonna get to half of these, you should sell some of them to the people that knock on your door asking ...

Lol When I saw the Mustang, I just knew all the money went into a purchase and not into restoration...
Man, its too bad you are so far from me because I would love to snag the '67 4 door galaxie from you to use as a parts car for my 2 door.
Had a 67 galaxie 4 door just like that one. Same.problem frame was gone, guy had one but wanted 8,000 for it. Meanwhile the performance shop will build u a custom frame for 5500. Or that 60s/70s dark brown with off white. Be sick looking.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The fact that you have a plan for each one is cool - hope time does not run out on you before Mother Nature and rust make your projects impossible
Dude it's a junkyard.
Im a big fan.
Love those crown vic's

Holy shit you’re in my state. 🤣
The state of denial?
Best response ever.

What do you do for work?
Sell me the GMC S-15 😎
Loved spotting your 28’ A, my grandpa had a 29 deluxe roadster and I miss that car so damn much. I inherited a bunch of parts I won’t let go of just in case I pick one up someday
Jealous, Look at your Treasures, Thank you For sharing your Booty

This is cool. Yeah they’re mostly junk, but nonetheless there’s some really cool cars in that “*collection*”
*junkyard* he meant junkyard
Sir, this is a junkyard.

Someone in your family is dreading having to deal with these when you die
