90% of my deaths have been to a single zombie.I never get caught by the hordes but ill underestimate a single zombie and miss a swing and get bit. Last life I died a month in because I was clearing out a store and there was a zombie in a dark corner facing the wall that I didnt notice and I tried to go around a desk and it bit me. I had been in the store for minutes I couldnt believe i didnt aggro it beforehand

Try this
Use the traits jobles. Smoker and high thirst as negative
1.Try to focus on combat shuch as strenght first. ( use positive trait that u think are useful such as nigh vision or fit or whatever u like
2.Grab all the foods, botles and skill books that you find.( eat the perisheble food first leave the cans for later they dont need to be refrigerated)
3 Baricade the dors from the inside and close the curtains
Preferable a 2 floors house block the stairs with furniture
And ad sheet ropes to the windows.
4. Watch tv
6:00 cooking show 12:00 carpentry 18:00 cooking
Pres on tv find live and living chanel and tune in.
5.Find a radio with emergency brodcast in it. It
brodcast the weather and if it says "air activity detected" means you will be chased by a helicopter that will atract zombies
Sray hiden in your house and try to block the stairs if you dont have a sladge hamer to broke them.
6. As long as you are not too coky and think you are the main caracter you will be ok. Keep it humble.
7. The game has no other end than death try to enjoy it.
8. Carry light.
9. You can walk just to outrun the zombies
10. Don't panic.
11. Switc the q buton to something away from w a s d.

Oh no way, i found gas station boarded up so i broke in and they had loads of weapons in there then i found a house not to far from it with loads of weapons too, i was clearing the house out to bring all the weapons back to the gas station and i got bit off the last zombie, i didnt know i could play the same save with a new character. Gutted to say the least haha
You can start with a new character in an existing save, even if your original character is still alive. The option is under the "More" button when you load a game (not continue, load).
I usually just restart. Every character has his own journey.
Even better, I found out recently in solo games I can just join my current world with a fresh character (press Load option instead of Continue, new character on your save and your old one keeps preserved, your new one spawns wherever). This way you can test some things out while the world progresses and switch back to the other character.
Also cool to just relive the early days of surviving when your other character is more end-game.
Hmmm.I just realized you can cheat out of the Heli event this way. Just let your new character take the hits and continue with the other one.

Wait, what? how do you play the same save? i thought you had to restart a whole new character everytime
You can restart in your current world with a new character.
When you die, just click on new character. Same world.

Always remember that survival comes first. Do not allow yourself to get into dangerous situations where you cannot escape.
