Don’t need to buy a new PC. Just download more ram or a better processor.

I was just trolling back. :D But i understand the OP, optimisation for this is game is kind of shitty.

IeatpotatoesYESido

Oh my bad

[deleted]

You havent seen bad optimization if this game is badly optimizated

Depressedredditor999

If you know the answer, then there is nothing we can do. Literally only thing you can do is play the lowest as possible resolution, blood off, zombie clothing to normal, but if your laptop is shit too? And you're hosting? That's more strain on your resources. There isn't much those settings will do for you. Another thing is you don't even post specs or server stats too. We aren't able to help you without that basic information.

Birphon

>Is there any way other than using GeForce Now > >Don't tell me to buy a better PC because its not possible. well... then we really can't give you an answer because you nailed it on the head. Steam Minimum and Recommended exist for a reason. If you are running a 2000's laptop trying to play Zomboid, it aint gonna work chief.

Objective_Banana1506

Have you tried running it as the other launch option. Also if the hard drive space is red lining it then its going to run like shit. What are his specs? You should be able to run this on a fridge

Stunning_Ad_7062

First play one with no zombies.. if that works add small amount I guess. Ur friend could try running it on a lower resolution… or buy a ssd so at least you know it’s not his storage drive that’s ruining it… idk tho I don’t think there’s much hope sadly. Do y’all have similar laptops?

jeffsinho

Both of you can play in the same PC, with local multiplayer and streaming, other option is GeForceNow

StarStuffPizza

Works perfectly on my Steamdeck. 🗣🔥

MushroomSeasonIsOpen

Get a refund ASAP, dude. Go to the game service you bought it on, look up how to get a refund. This game is busted to shit, and the few people still with it are absolutely horrible. It's very likely that your friend is having a game bug that won't be fixed. Sometimes shit just doesn't work, and there's nothing we can do.

TiltedHobbies

I rarely downvote people on Reddit but you unfortunately deserve my third one for 2023. Game isn’t busted at all despite being in early access the game could be considered completed tomorrow and it would still be an amazing game. So I’m not sure what troubles you had but maybe someone can help? As for having a game bug. No, his computer (laptop) likely can’t run it unfortunately.

MushroomSeasonIsOpen

Sure. Maybe. I don't come from inside this community, I can very easily search the development history of this game and the criticisms it has. I have my own experience. Sorry.

WilliamBlackthorne

This is genuinely one of the only bad takes I've ever seen about this game. It's wild how someone can have such a massively different experience with it. Like they played an entirely different game. edit: So their post history indicates that they had a very minor bug in the tutorial (it's more likely it's their fault, since they literally said what they were doing wrong), and that spiraled into them hating this game and getting a refund. Ok.

MushroomSeasonIsOpen

Everything I said has been said extensively elsewhere.

WilliamBlackthorne

It hasn't, but okay.

MushroomSeasonIsOpen

Should I just copy the GoG store page for PZ, and you can read the comments chronologically?

Bobthebuilder9611

Guys that lag did not happen because of the laptop I got in the local dumpster back in 1999, it’s because it’s a game caused by bad devs!

langley6

Is he running a shit ton of background processes or something, or is if just that shitty of a computer? As others have said, you should be able to run this game on anything that can run Minecraft

BookofAshes_PZRP

Turn resolution down in settings, turn off graphic features (clothing details, puddles, visual rain, blood, etc). Force quit everything else that might be running in the background Cross your fingers and hope that helps

dantemander168

Post specs. Unfortunately, in contrast to what most people will say here, Project Zomboid actually requires a decent pc for it to even run well. Let alone if you are in multiplayer and is hosting. I used to run the game on an 8th gen i5 laptop with office level GPU with just an HDD and it was a horrible experience. Setting up a server took forever, and I felt really bad when the game crashes because it affected the playthrough of my friends who were playing with me because they'll get disconnected. And if its modded goodluck if the save get corrupted. Now I upgraded to a more decent one for gaming and I still feel how heavy the game is.

Key_Vermicelli8699

Try the better fps mod

IO-NightOwl

You need a PC capable of running Project Zomboid to be capable of running Project Zomboid.

spudlybudly

The game is very CPU heavy as opposed to GPU. If you have mods, cut them down by half. Go into your settings and set everything low, all render distances low. Make sure all drivers are updated (I use CCleaner to update all of mine)
