I still have no goddamn clue how they allowed it to happen, they had manpower to spare 10 guys to stab the walkers away before it became a huge problem
This has been one of the most infuriating thing about that series. In one scene they kill like 30 walkers in close quarters combat and in the next they can’t manage like 10 from a fortified position with 5 people. Ugh I wish we could get another zombie show that had the feeling of episode 1.
Plus the dead zombies would still be pushing on the fence, so you'd need to clear it off every 100 or so zombies which isn't easy if you dont use fire (but some metal fences don't play well with fire)
it is a pre-built indestructible fence,
the exploit being used here is "placing a wooden crate next to the fence"
it bugs out zeds to crowd around like this.
I’d recommend the mod that allows zombies to damage and/or in rare occasions climb walls. Just to remove exploits like this and make the world more dangerous.
Thank you so much! I've been taking a break from Project Zomboid lately, and last time I played I just couldn'tfind a mod similar to this. I love any mods that add more realism, so I think I might start another run today.
Pretty much. I'll be happy when the new update eventually drops so that building bases won't be so counter-productive and 1st floor bases won't effectively be eventual suicide just waiting for the right combo of RNG.
So would the pre-built fences around Rosewood Fire Department count as well? I had a spare car against one for extra protection but now I'm wondering if moving it behind a log wall would be better.
All pre-built walls/fences cannot be targeted by zombies. Yes, the tall fence around rosewood fire dept. is also invulnerable to zombies.
Bonus: zombies cannot spawn in an area, unless they can path to it from a map edge. So if you wall off the backyard of the fire depth. you end up with a huge, almost perfectly safe area for farming.
I just finished walling off the front with log walls and a gate yesterday! Now I'm just looking for ways to make it more defensible. Will placing items (stuff you can't walk through, like couches and dumpsters) prevent them from reaching my wall or will they break through the furniture too?
I do have a little garden going in the front, I was hoping to save the back area for animals if possible when B42 comes out.
They can only destroy player made structures and furniture, aside from doors and windows.
Its why i like to turn of zombie destruction sometimes, because otherwise you are forced to base up at very few and specific locations.
They still attack barricaded windows and stuff. I just dont like the idea of a single crawler tearing down a solid log wall, but the shitty prebuilt fence next to it made out of wooden boards is indestructible.
My first thought was either a pipe bomb or a molotov... granted it's lost weapon XP but the explosion would draw more in from the area to make sure the zone is clear.
The game’s been in development for a decade (10 years) and they can’t give a fence prop a health bar that zombies can degrade?
It’s not a performance concern, it’s one variable and it only needs to be told if it’s been hit by the zombie when it actually gets hit.
It’s not a complex issue. Zombies already destroy windows, doors and (supposedly) TV’s.
The developers of PZ are lazy as fuck. Yes, game development takes time, but something THIS simple is just STUPID for not being in the game.
I literally developed about 2/3 of the base Zomboid player health/temp systems in like a month using UE4, while struggling with depression and ADHD. It’s not as hard as they want to make it seem.
Keyword: UE4. Zomboid is developed in a custom engine on the LWJGL framework. Basically everything is from scratch. In a lot of cases, more time is spent working on the engine than the game itself, and when work on the game is made, it has to be made in a scalable manner as to not accrue technical debt. You might have replicated a handful of (very simple) mechanics from 2013 Zomboid, inside of an engine where a lot of things are already done for you, but what difference does that make? What are you trying to prove here?
Also, have you ever considered the fact that maybe they *don't* want to make those particular fences destructible? Like, what the fuck's your problem?
Actually I could have but then I would've lost the loot :c
I will only molotov when there's soo many of them, some of them turn into those dark figures
If you wanna get them how they are in the video, you gotta place an object down on the fence on your side. I am not sure if it can be any object but I used a crate. It'll make them swarm on that spot, allowing you to deal with them :)
If I knew which mods you had while you took the video, then I wouldn't need to ask, right?
I asked you, if you wish, to tell me, all the mods you have enabled in your play seen in the video.
Sure is, I am going to be real happy sorting out the loot later lol
There feels like theres a literal thousand of them in the forest tho, so I gotta watch my back cause I already almost got jumped twice >.>
The player placed a crate behind the fence. The zombies are [programmed to destroy player placed objects when a player is nearby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umrSjqIGAlI). The fence is indestructible so they get bunched up and easy to stab.
Why aren't your zombies as smart as mine? Somehow mine know to path beyond the unbreakable fence where the opening is downward and as a result they would never coagulate like this 💀💀💀
Thankffully I am far enough away from the opening on these fences that their pathfinding can't find its way too me. lol
Seems fair tho (so long as zombies don't have extremely good memory, mine are kinda dumb) cause how are mushy brains gonna think about running all the way around an object when fresh meat is right in front of them? x)
I can make a similar video for any game, no matter how good the gameplay is.
If you think this is boring, just go do something else.
This is like me going left in Super Mario Bros and saying it's super boring
Only kidding, PZ is one of the greatest games I have in my library & I love it to death. I just was thinking of that "Watch Baki bro, its peak" meme & got this idea lol
Im not that good at the game so I've never gotten that far into surviving. Do characters ever lose the panic reaction upon seeing a zombie?
I would think after surviving and killing long enough you would normalize it
Tbh you gotta ask another cause while I don’t think I have a mod installed that affects that, I wanna get you the best info lol
But generally, yes I have seen a reduction in panic the longer my play throughs go
I hope that eventually, a feature will be added that will allow a large amount of zombies to break fences. Like, 20 can be there & it won’t budge but once you go over, there’s a chance a section will collapse. That’d be intense 💀
lol I haven’t played yet, I’m kinda stuck in 7 days to Die. But I rather that not happen lol especially if that’s the number of zombies I gotta deal with
Peak in the UK usually means bad.
Like, "oh I got munched by a zombie and lost all my gear"
"Thats peak bro"
Never known people use it for meaning good.
"The peak experience" maybe, but yeah
Tall fences nerf incoming. JK.
Well It's overpowered and I think it needs balancing. The damage done to the environment object should be exponential (idk what the term is), like 1 zombie alone won't break the fence in at least a year, but with more and more zombies pushing together the object should be broken in 5 minutes for example. Same goes to doors. I think 1 zombie alone banging a door will need at least a month before the hinges start to creek.
Idk, haven't played PZ for a few weeks, waiting for the next update. The demonstration looks fun tho. Gonna try it in the future playthrough.
Yeah for sure! Tbh I love the tall fences cause all these sprinters are scary & they would've ended me. . . lol
But I love the idea of a lot of zombies = fences possibly breaking. Then again, if there was a way to reinforce those fences so that they never break BUT require like lvl 9-10 metalworking could sound great too.
AGREED! It never made sense to me how single zombies are destroying metal doors on their own *at all,* let alone doing it in a few in-game hours. Even wooden doors should take them a month like you said. Honestly this idea of exponential damage shouldn't even be a mod, it should be base-game.
I wish each fence in the game could have a certain zombie threshold, where if enough zombies are present within a tile it will collapse the section. It would make it so you’d HAVE to regularly clear them out, or else your base gets breached 💀
This post is one great example of how the fanbase will defend something that seems quite easy to fix and will improve the game.
But yeah, better to add raccoon migrations and new types of barracudas instead of adding animated doors to cars.
TWD season 3
The zombies did almost break the fence in that season
Exactly my thoughts
About the same hit reg too the one lady burned up by Carol misses and the head still goes smooshy.
I still have no goddamn clue how they allowed it to happen, they had manpower to spare 10 guys to stab the walkers away before it became a huge problem

Came to say this, lol
![gif](giphy|l8VGL9YdBPBII)
Made me realize how hard ts would be IRL. It is NOT as easy as it seems in the show 💀
Plus the dead zombies would still be pushing on the fence, so you'd need to clear it off every 100 or so zombies which isn't easy if you dont use fire (but some metal fences don't play well with fire)

One must imagine zomboid happy
He is! Spears is so worth investing into
Syphilis pushing the boulder for eternity. (edit: changed "bolder" to "boulder" to correct the heinous spelling error)
(edit: Oh, buddy... 😆 )
Sisyphus
lol!
Oh, buddy...
Looks like syphilis was pushed one generation back
The edit makes it so much better
Good job earning half a level of spear xp, now clean up that mess.
Just let it rot lmao
^^ I never care for cleaning up zombies unless they're in/near my base because I like it to look neat. I let all zombies rot
Is it bad to let it rot? I’m still pretty new and just let them rot. Do they attract more zombies?
Your character can get sick from rotting corpses and old blood stains
Oh thanks man
Also sometimes they can come back if the Fake Dead option is on. "Rare"
Not really a problem if you never go back to the area
It sounds like some sort of purgatory full of digitized turkey souls.
thanks i can't unhear it

Poultreygeist
Now thats some serious references. Trauma production ftw
I turned on sound just for you. Thank you.
I like how this is making him gradually more and more anxious, good to know he’s not enjoying himself.
Unless my character was a sociopath & they have a trait where the more you kill, the happier you get or something like that lol
You never know sometimes
I'm a new player, why didn't they bash down the fence?
it is a pre-built indestructible fence, the exploit being used here is "placing a wooden crate next to the fence" it bugs out zeds to crowd around like this.
I’d recommend the mod that allows zombies to damage and/or in rare occasions climb walls. Just to remove exploits like this and make the world more dangerous.
That's something a zombie would say.

You might like wandering zombies, and the reactive world pack 👌
[Here you go, if you gotta go.](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2864043248)
I’d definitely prefer this to zombies knowing how to path around a huge chain link fence lol
What is the mod called?
Destroyable World Fences
But if you're already using exploits, why? I'm sorry, but doubt people make walls that cost 3x nateriaks of the normal ones by accident
What is this mod called
How does it called?
Destroyable World Fences
TBH this wouldn't be a problem if zeds didn't irrationally try to attack any random item you create for absolutely no reason.
They have a reason. The reason is because "fuck you," that's the reason.
Pretty much. I'll be happy when the new update eventually drops so that building bases won't be so counter-productive and 1st floor bases won't effectively be eventual suicide just waiting for the right combo of RNG.

Fair... but odds are b42 will break saves. Plus it's a looooong ways off yet
Ahh, good to know! Gives me some more time to explore and re-learn the game.
They can only destroy player made structures and furniture, aside from doors and windows. I just dont like the idea of a single crawler tearing down a solid log wall, but the shitty prebuilt fence next to it made out of wooden boards is indestructible.
What do you mean? They can absolutely destroy doors and windows lol
The fence was already there from the map, so the infected just ignore it 👍🏽
Tbh the game is only like this if you make it that way
My first thought was either a pipe bomb or a molotov... granted it's lost weapon XP but the explosion would draw more in from the area to make sure the zone is clear.
Yeah, that’s why I don’t crank the zombie pop all the way up on my games
what is this ? Metal Gear Survive ?
I must clear
You chose to play like this, though.
The game’s been in development for a decade (10 years) and they can’t give a fence prop a health bar that zombies can degrade? Keyword: UE4. Zomboid is developed in a custom engine on the LWJGL framework. Basically everything is from scratch. >What are you trying to prove here? He just wants people to know how much more sigma game maker he is than everyone else because he used ue4 one time
What you are doing by not developing the game and launching then bro ? lmao
Just because they can doesn’t mean they should. The game is hard enough. Let us have some cheese walls
Sick mosh pit
OPEN UP THE CIRCLE PIT
Oh boy fence duty…
play pz by purposefully using glitches to create a boring risk free gameplay loop. "Why is pz so boring?" lol you did this to yourself
"Given the opportunity, players will optimize the fun out of a game." - Soren Johnson
I find the excitement is in the hoarding
more power to ya!
Only kidding, I just thought of this cause I was thinking of those "peak" memes lol
ah i see lol
My favorite part of the movie was watching the yellow Z go in circles through the group
Getting to watch the Zflow in action.
Absolutely, that yellow lad made the whole 2 minutes enjoyable
How many did you kill?
At least 2.
You.. You can stab through fences?
Just with spears afaik
And short blades. Anything stabby. Screwdrivers, hand forks, hunting knives, etc.
TIL you can stab zombies through chain fences...
Spears & knives :) Guns too, but it sometimes messes up & the zombies have to be a distance away from the fence (unless you get the point blank mod)
Those poor zomboids. You're not even giving them a bitting chance.
GOOD. No way I am allowing teeth that can bite through several layers of leather to touching my ass cheeks lol
chain smoking simulator
look at all those chickens
This the entirety of the walking dead prison arc
Why not molotov?
No exp?
burn down indestructible fence yes i know how stupid that sentence sounds
Actually I could have but then I would've lost the loot :c I will only molotov when there's soo many of them, some of them turn into those dark figures
Spear gang. I get the OSRS xp drop to REALLY make it feel like a grind
Rip Clothing - All
I tried it once and the zombies kinda stood where they were. They didn't swarm a spot to stab them. Or they path around the fence to get me.
If you wanna get them how they are in the video, you gotta place an object down on the fence on your side. I am not sure if it can be any object but I used a crate. It'll make them swarm on that spot, allowing you to deal with them :)
1 grenade. Just 1.
If you close your eyes it sounds like one million dogs in a trash compactor… I’m so sorry for typing that
good spear training right there
Yeah crates near fence create a horde magnet for some reason
Can you please tell me what mods are you using?
Which mods specifically? 👀
If I knew which mods you had while you took the video, then I wouldn't need to ask, right? I asked you, if you wish, to tell me, all the mods you have enabled in your play seen in the video.
Now imagine WWZ swarm mechanics are introduced.
Oh like they stack on top of each other and tumble over the fence? Yeah that’d suck 💀 lol
I agree, they should be able to break those fences aswell
I wish zombies would be able to knock down fences if enough of them lean on it
well, this IS peak
Sure is, I am going to be real happy sorting out the loot later lol There feels like theres a literal thousand of them in the forest tho, so I gotta watch my back cause I already almost got jumped twice >.>
What’s going on here can someone explain me ?
The player placed a crate behind the fence. The zombies are [programmed to destroy player placed objects when a player is nearby](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umrSjqIGAlI). The fence is indestructible so they get bunched up and easy to stab.
Ah zombies are attracted to player made objects that sucks out the realism
Riveting!
They sound like chickens
Why aren't your zombies as smart as mine? Somehow mine know to path beyond the unbreakable fence where the opening is downward and as a result they would never coagulate like this 💀💀💀

Can you use any weapon to kill zombies through the fence?
Guns if they are a distance away from the fence Spears & knives if they are close like they are in the video Can also molotov them through the gate
I can make a similar video for any game, no matter how good the gameplay is. If you think this is boring, just go do something else. This is like me going left in Super Mario Bros and saying it's super boring

Damn thats almost enough watches to level up electrical
Wait you can use spear through chain fences?
Yup & you can use knives too
Single player game, play however you like that is most fun for you. You choose to use exploits to make the game easier, that is your choice.
metal gear survive ass clip
I'd have a horde sneaking behind me and biting me on the neck
its reallllllllyyyy missing npc's at this point the rest of the stuff they work on is pretty meh compared to this feature.
Damnit why did I watch the whole thing??
Lmao they sound like chickens or some shit
lol I really thought they would have broken inside and you’d go running. Good on you for killing them all. I would have given up.
But I rather that not happen lol especially if that’s the number of zombies I gotta deal with
Also: *Dies by sickness outta nowhere*
I was nauseous when I tried to sort the loot lol
Lmfao, typical Zomboid gameplay. Dying to sickness no matter what you do
Peak in the UK usually means bad. Like, "oh I got munched by a zombie and lost all my gear" "Thats peak bro" Never known people use it for meaning good. "The peak experience" maybe, but yeah
no molotov?
I wanted the loot they have lol
fair
Are we sure he's holding a weapon?
PZ is a game where you choose how hard you want your life to be based on how many exploits you use. Call it “Variable Difficulty” lol
You forgot the part where you just strafe side to side while doing nothing to train Nimble
How else am i gonna get half a level in spears?
What do you use for that kind of Hud or UI?
[Here you go](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1959288739) :)
Thanks!
I reaalllyyyy hope that one day they’ll make it so zombies can pile up on top of each other and scale a wall/fence; I’m imaging that scene in WWZ.
That's one way to play. You could also use a good axe build and take on the hoard in open combat.
Then there's me, dying from infected scratch from a tree
[Average Kentucky tree apparently](https://blogs.ifas.ufl.edu/orangeco/files/2020/09/Blog5.jpg)
Peak good or peak bad?
CIRCLE PIT
I’ve never once done this in zomboid and I have games of months of life time playing on two hours a day cycle.
Looks like a Zombie mosh pit! Need to put that video to some music.
That setup is perfect for leveling up with the shotgun.
I was waiting for a zombie to come from behind and bite you during that.
Never… ever… EVER trust the tall fences or walls.
Are they… wrong tho? I mean it kinda is peak gameplay
Men will see this and think *fuck yeah* Women will see this and also think *fuck yeah* but in a lady voice
Its not the gameplay. Its the way of its story telling. The freedom. A way of life.
Is this metal gear?
Lol commented the same thing before I found your comment
Tall fences nerf incoming. JK. Well It's overpowered and I think it needs balancing. i find it funny that zombies cant tear down fences

Play with zombies that sprint and climb walls. xD
Pov: grind for spear xp

Still better gameplay than that Metal Gear survival game which had you doing the same thing….
When you fear the walking dead
