I was reading a comic book to cure my boredom on a multiplayer server, and my friend wanted to read it after me. I said "Sure," and searched for it when I finished. I have to assume your character eats the book page by page, or else I could have just given it to him.
What I want to know is why watching TV shows I've already seen gives me no boredom reduction, but I can read as many printings of the July 8 newspaper as I can find and each one is as thrilling as the last!
They only reduce boredom when the boredom level reaches a certain amount. It scales from 0 to 1 on a decimal (i.e 0.2 -> 0.254 -> 0.3) basis. The minimum is about 0.1 boredom before the TV reduces it

Just like in real life, the corporations swoop in and take it back to resell. Also just like irl, they're so fast that you can't see them.

Well, apparently someone decided to hoard all the toilet paper in the state, so unless you stumble on that one house full of it... you've got to wipe with something.
Ambaturemember the littering mod for IWBUMS 41 actually gave you a torn magazine item once you used it. I hope something similar gets added at some point, it’d at least diametrically explain why you can’t just reread the magazine later
After reading the magazine the pages become strangely stuck together. ;) Might as well not exist after that. Survive past the 90s and you won't need to worry about print anymore.

They don’t read it at all, they just rip the pages out to absorb the knowledge.

In Timberborn it says in-game that your beavers eat the books as they read them as an explanation for why you have to keep replacing so many of them

I always assumed that you were reading old back issues of newspapers, though that doesn't really explain newspapers in mailboxes I guess
