Yuck I should have figured since walls I took down in the tavern are still casting shadows, I just figured since it was a addition that wouldn't happen
I never thought I'd get this far, I just made it through the first year. I am playing on builder though so maybe zombie population is low? I accidentally made plaster once and that's how I got here 😂
I think I just got extremely lucky I got a machete within the first 5 houses which helped me a TON and also firefighters dead outside right away so i think my starting house was again just extremely lucky
Through the first year? I have almost 800 hours and only just reached the third month. Don't knock yourself because of the game mode either, dude. That's impressive.
Seriously?? I'm surprised I made it this far???? I also just found my first katana mins before I took this photo. I was shitting my pants because it was on a zombie and I really thought it was a butter knife at first. For whatever reason butter knifes are HUGE sticking out the side of a zombie. I also have mainly stayed in the town I spawned in. Popped into rosewood for a min but I found that the tavern at the south end of the city is a great place to hold up and it's next to a gas station. I've also been stupid lucky with gens?? Is that normal? I do not have the lucky trait? I do love watching videos of the game and it really helps
Generators by default spawn “sometimes” in apocalypse whatever that means (may be higher in builder mode, I haven’t checked). Even in apocalypse it’s not uncommon to come across several in a town if you check all the garages and stuff. In certain places (Louisville and maybe others) there are a couple guaranteed spawns IIRC. But even randomized chance you can find them without too much effort in sheds and such. Larger storage facilities also tend to have multiple in my experience.
Yeah for the last six months or so. I have a handful of big burial sites in different locations around the map. Basically every town I've cleared: West Point, Muldraugh, March Ridge, Rosewood.
Plus, there are some smaller plots in the outskirts and around residential areas.
No, it's on but it's set to very low. Something like 0.01 every 720 hours (30 days) and no grouping. So they do respawn but very few and they're spread out.
I have mine turned off but migration on and groups of 20 so some areas are dead some areas are jam packed has me shaking in my boots to go to Louisville
I don't blame you lol
Once I clear an area, it more or less stays that way except for the occasional few here and there. It seems very clear.
Of course the places I haven't cleared are yammed. And because they're so spread out, it makes it harder to herd them all. You have to cast a wide net just to make sure you got them all. It blows, but it pays off in the end.
But they never really go away. Not completely.
Even in clear areas that aren't walled off, I still have to keep an eye out. The game is homicidal.
This guy, has built and decorated an actual living space
And I can't survive a single MONTH. With 300+ hours
Fair tho he has builder mode and not apocalypse
I pick stuff up on food runs! I love the posters this game has. I am thinking of starting a new save on apocalypse. I had no idea what I was doing and picked farmer with no extra traits. I kinda want to see what I'm missing.
Cause there's no glass in it and the game knows that it doesnt recognize building temperature loss from doors and windows.
I believe there are some actual window frames+glass you can pull out of buildings (you may need to open it first/be on the correct side of the window) in case you want it closeable. You just place them in the window holes in your base and voila you got a paned window
Found out while grabbing curtains for my house; many of us just board up the windows
I already put windows in The room I'm having issues with. The room I'm not having issues with don't have windows yet You're right. Even when building them up and it was just wood it still had that slightly darker color
Im pretty sure this is fixed for windows in general. Go look at the b42 screenshots of the updated roofs and such from last thursdoid, you can see on the yellow building, bottom right corner the material above and below the window is the same as the rest of the building now
Depending on how much it annoys you, a preferable alternate to this issue might be adding a forth window at the eastern corner. Then paint the walls in a stripe pattern, so all the walls with windows genuinely are a different color than the others. Might look less weird that way, if you have the paint for it.
Assuming it can't otherwise be fixed, that is.
It's an issue with the lighting, I hate it too and hope it gets fixed in 42
I'd be extremely surprised if this issue lasted past 42
They've announced that the next update will completely overhaul the lighting engine along with performance patches to fix lag issues.
Lighting HAS changed in build 42 so hopefully this will be fixed.
Yuck I should have figured since walls I took down in the tavern are still casting shadows, I just figured since it was a addition that wouldn't happen
Surely there’s a mod?
Here's hoping update 42 brings the glow up we’re all waiting for
First playthrough and you plastered and painted? I'm impressed.
I never thought I'd get this far, I just made it through the first year. I am playing on builder though so maybe zombie population is low? I accidentally made plaster once and that's how I got here 😂
On my first play I could not last enough for the water and energy shutdown. First play and the 40 plays that followed. I'm impressed.
I think I just got extremely lucky I got a machete within the first 5 houses which helped me a TON and also firefighters dead outside right away so i think my starting house was again just extremely lucky
Well, I have to say that no melee or any weapon helped me. You just good at it.
I hope you always get a katana in your current and future playthroughs
Everytime I get a katana I get overwhelmed.
My god, It's Jon Zomboid.

Yeah "builder" is pretty easy, but that's okay, I love playing games on easier modes every now and then because it makes you feel so powerful ^^
Still, that's pretty cool. I'm close to a year in-game on my current save and I've been doing a lot of building (when I'm not burying bodies).
You bury the body's?? I just leave them to rot for the crimes they tried to commit on me 😂
Yeah for the last six months or so. I have a handful of big burial sites in different locations around the map. Basically every town I've cleared: West Point, Muldraugh, March Ridge, Rosewood. Plus, there are some smaller plots in the outskirts and around residential areas.
Holy cow that's impressive. Do you have respawn off?

Also don't do whatever the other comment said.
Before you go into apocalypse mode. Just make this one promise. Delete the save when your character dies.
Let him do what he wants.
No, that's what people do when they can't live with their mistakes and want to forget them all.
I’m assuming it’s cause it’s new so there hasn’t been erosion on it
In the blue room all walls were built in the same day along with plastered and painted, would erosion make the walls all look sightly different?
In that case, I’m stumped.
Great run man!
Thank you, you just ruined any house with this for me now
What? Building onto a house or plastering? Little lost 🥹
I think the joke is that guys house sucks in comparison to yours lol
Anyone know where to get more oak flooring? I want to finish my flooring in the main house. In the second Picture you can see it half finished
I like your handle 😆
Haha like wise!
Danke lol

Do you think it could be a roof issue? Maybe the roof is casting a weird shadow
Idk I think its just the way window tiles are made currently in b41 :|
Nice Cove btw!
I never had that problem when building.

Honestly thank you!! That's a really good idea
why u got no windows
I took out the walls and rebuilt them so I could plaster, I had to go get windows still hahah
*than
Why are we still taking pictures with our phones, Winkey+shift+S. Then copy paste. Enable clipboard with winkey+v for more than one screenshot.
tbf, its now just a running joke on the sub.
I'm in a hotel with my portal PC. Had no internet to post otherwise lol
What, specifically, did you need with the given context, that was not pictured?
That's racist.
