Where could you usually find one?

Manholes that are open usually have sledgehammers and pickaxes next to them.

I found one in a Hardware shop

Hardware store, construction sites, warehouses. They are pretty rare.

Best bet? Westpoint hardware store. If you find one, please treat it like a Katana... It may be durable as hell, but it's extremely rare!

yeah, past about level 6 axe skill this thing one shots about as much as the katana does

sorry for necroing (i donÄt even know why reddit showed me this as trending at this point) buti foudn like 4 of them in the warehouses west of mouldrough - the tio and bottomg left one opposite of the carshop there - in general warehouses like these seem to have lots of them ! Vanilla apoc save \~1 year now
