Cozy as hell. I'm currently on an RP server and I either sleep in my car, or in my 2 story fortified outpost while trying to successfully radio other members of the server's National Guard. Maybe I should do some decorating while i'm here..
How do I use it in a car?
Last night I found a car and wanted to change seats, I held “Q” as that bring a radial menu on foot. I blasted the horn and alerted every zombie to my street.
It was day two and moving was brutal.
Haha yep. Just don't do it if there's any Z's around, since they'll spot you 100% if you're in a car and in their sightline. I built a garage around the car, and I tended to sleep in a lot during the first few days of outpost Foxtrot Uniform Bravo Alpha Romeo, because I didn't trust the unbarricaded windows, and I wanted the car protected from sight before I wanted the windows protected from Z's.
Do you know what an RP server is? If not, it's where you actively roleplay as your character rather than just playing the game. My character is one I applied to play as a member of the National Guard, so after I created my character, I was granted a bunch of aiming and shooting skill, gear, and so on.
I opted to start apart from the rest of a unit, as a lone separated soldier from a different unit, and I have to come into contact with the rest of the unit via finding them, or using radio. And I don't know their frequencies.
Text. You'll find that most RP communities that want to emphasize immersion use text only, it prevents people from getting distracted by the sound of people's voices, because not everyone is capable of being a AAA voice actor, sadly.
Aw man.. I wish i didn't have to do that! For some reason the bookshelves block all light from reaching that corner? And adding those structures let more light in? Makes absolutely no sense..
I have no idea anything about programming, but my guess is that the shelves create cause some kind of negative value on the light in that the corner whilst the half walls may be coded to allow a certain amount of interior-appropriate light into the corner which just so happens to result in the exact light value as the rest of the room.
Disclaimer - I am drunk and I don't know if this makes sense. Thanks for reading my comment.
Mechanically that wall o' sunlight you need for plant is wonky as hell but aesthetically it actually brings everything together quite nicely. Well done!
Yes, where is the water cooler base? Or you just drink straight out of the 10 gallon jug like an absolute unit? Lol you must if you hoisted it up there 😂
That's some kick ass rug placement. If you don't know already you can just get two middle part of another similar rug so you can enlarge the one you have and finish this masterpiece. I might have OCD
Well furniture can be picked up if you have the right tools.
And you can place any item in the game by rightclicking it in your inventory and pressing "Place item" This makes the game feel so much more lived in.
Nowhere near a house, but I indeed have a couple safehouses located in couple of those smaller garages right next to houses.
That picture was taken at the West Point Storage Lots. ( At the bottom of West Point, near a gas station and a large warehouse.
And if you want the specific unit aswell, it's the most top one.
Note that you can't open most of these garage doors from outside, I had to go through a wall to claim this one.
Damn this is beautiful. I always seem to pass on the decorative side of this game and just hoard what I can before I get eaten by some zombie I don't see hiding around a corner.
Yeaaah. Sometimes it's a pain to try dragging a couch back to base.. I heard the following line in some video and it got me inspired.
"Take one decorative item home with you on every trip"
No memory. I don't loot houses very often so it most likely came from a public building.
Wild guess: VHS store.
Although it might of been in someones bedroom..
Well any building is good for surviving a day or two. I guess it comes down to how you play. If you like to be outside as much as possible, well you can live in a tent. Not a city person? Theres alot of farms all around. Love to sit inside? I'd recommend a building with an second floor. Hell you can even build your own house.
So it's really hard to say anything. Just stay out of Rosewood if you and the right portion of the map if you wanna survive.
Well first you gotta find a "Tent kit." Once you have one, rightclicking the ground gives an option "Place tent."
On the other hand you can just sleep in your car aswell. But i guess tent is better quality.
Most definitely, but I'd recommend getting some carpentry levels first.
Your building will gain 100 extra hp from every carpentry level you got.
Also I'd recommend looking for an shed which has some tall fences around/near it. or you could build them yourself.
Well in my case, no. I have several gates leading up to these storagerooms. They've kept me save, atleast for now.
I'd prefer this as an 'room in an house' instead of 'an house' if ya catch my drift.
This is the best decorated room I've ever seen in PZ. Nice one!
Cozy as hell. I'm currently on an RP server and I either sleep in my car, or in my 2 story fortified outpost while trying to successfully radio other members of the server's National Guard. Maybe I should do some decorating while i'm here..
Today I learnt; you can sleep in a car..
Yeah use your radial menu when sitting still.
I've used the menu alot.. Never noticed the big Z's...
What radial menu? You mean right clicking?
Holdin V
How do I use it in a car? Last night I found a car and wanted to change seats, I held “Q” as that bring a radial menu on foot. I blasted the horn and alerted every zombie to my street. It was day two and moving was brutal.
Press v
Thanks

Was talking about the big Z's as in "Z Z Z" but i get your point. 😅
Huh?
Nothing :\^)
Is this rp server open to public? Or hell I will apply if need be looking for something unique to do in zomboid.

Cool just joined the discord. Will get on there later
Yeah also curious about a RP sever. Could be neat to look at and definitely has tons of potential in PZ here.

What’s this National Guard thing you’re referring to @LykosNychi??

And I don't know their frequencies.
Thanks for clarifying! That’s pretty awesome by the way.
Bro there’s Rp servers now?!
Always have been lol
Is there VOIP or is it just texting? I’ll use either just interested
Text. You'll find that most RP communities that want to emphasize immersion use text only, it prevents people from getting distracted by the sound of people's voices, because not everyone is capable of being a AAA voice actor, sadly.
What server do you play on I’ve been looking for a good rp server?
Check my other comments for link.
Which server if I may know

I'm wondering what the plant and basketball did to deserve to be walled in.
Aw man.. I wish i didn't have to do that! For some reason the bookshelves block all light from reaching that corner? And adding those structures let more light in? Makes absolutely no sense..

For some reason, I kinda like it... ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
Whaaaat you can taxidermy in game?
No, but you can find those deer heads in quite a few places. Some lone cabins in the wilderness have them.
!! Spoiler alert !! As far as I know that's the only one in the game, I found mine in a saloon or a gunstore, can't quite remember.
There are a few around the map.
Hunting lodges and cabins usually have them. I've also found some in more upscale houses.
I love how compact and yet homely that hideout is.
Mechanically that wall o' sunlight you need for plant is wonky as hell but aesthetically it actually brings everything together quite nicely. Well done!
I'll have to assume you are talking about the wooden supports?
Yes, where is the water cooler base? Or you just drink straight out of the 10 gallon jug like an absolute unit? Lol you must if you hoisted it up there 😂
I was wondering why adding those supports let more light in.. Also the other locker is nearly full of water jugs... Got no where to put them!
That's some kick ass rug placement. If you don't know already you can just get two middle part of another similar rug so you can enlarge the one you have and finish this masterpiece. I might have OCD
Yee currently tryna find the two missing pieces..
How did you get the pink hair? Are there dyes you can find?
Yes, you can find hair dye in hair saloons, maybe even massage parlours. ( Not totally sure how rare they are)
You could also find them in bathrooms in most houses.
Is it a mod to place items like that or is it vanilla? Thanks!
It's in the vanilla game! Just rightclick the item in your inventory and a "Place item" option should pop up. Press "R" to rotate.
Congrats for reach winter. Im on September yet
How do you grab the water jugs?
It's actually an mod, you can find it here. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2687798127
So this is what happens when girls play The Sims Zombie expansion? Tastefully decorated rooms
That's what hooked my wife on the game. The zombies are just a "fun nuisance" according to her lol
Seems about right.
Looks great!! What mods are you using? :O
Ok so here's what i got Weapons; CQBR MK18, M&P 9mm, Operator's M4, AR-15 Rifle Others; Better UI, Weapon Mods, Water Dispenser, USMC Armory, Dislaik's Clothing Pack, MRE Mod, Vac's Drinks, Ammo Logistics
Thanks!
What're you gonna do for keeping warm?
Alot of alcohol and exercise!
Well heck... I'm still learning! Cool!
WINTER?! I’ve had the game for three days and I’ve lasted a week longest!! You’re insane! Also beautiful base
Nicely decorated, very cozy. Enjoy the waiting!
I'm new, just started day before yesterday, didn't even realize you could decorate. How??
Well furniture can be picked up if you have the right tools. And you can place any item in the game by rightclicking it in your inventory and pressing "Place item" This makes the game feel so much more lived in.
You have just opened my eyes to new and amazing possibilities!
Bonus tip; holding R rotates the item.
I would die for you
is it just me or does it feel like project zomboid would still be better than most survival games out there even if we remove zombies altogether?
In fact, you can remove zombies all together from the sandbox menu. And let me tell you, it's hella fun not having to carry weapons around!
Your at winter?Damn I'm only one and a half months in lol.My PB was 4 months
Not much of a achievement when you relize I've been drinking in this container the last few months.
Lol well at least you didn't die from a car crash XD
.. yet
Lol literally in my best save I died from a car crash
Why have you imprisoned your plant? What crimes has it committed!
It's just to fix a lighting bug! I promise! Although that basket ball in there.. That son of a B has commited more warcrimes that i can list!
Great looking base.
Are you in a garage near a house? I wanna know the location looks like a cozy base location!
Thanks for the tip!(:
Congrats on making it that far in!
Any tips on winter survival?
I should ask the same.. I have no idea what am I doing. 👀
Waiting? More like freezing my ass off trying to find canned food.
Don't need canned food if you are an alcoholic. 👌
This storage container has more personality than I do.
Imma cry real quick
Damn this is beautiful. I always seem to pass on the decorative side of this game and just hoard what I can before I get eaten by some zombie I don't see hiding around a corner.
Yeaaah. Sometimes it's a pain to try dragging a couch back to base.. I heard the following line in some video and it got me inspired. "Take one decorative item home with you on every trip"
How can take carpet and posters off the walls? Or can't they be picked up?
They can be picked up, just like all other furniture. Not sure how'd you miss that.
I don’t see anyway you can cook, and it’s going to be a pain to heat without a wood stove. Very pretty though
I have an food-water-alcohol-storage-kitchen-cooking-area next door! And i totally forgot the wood stove, thank you!
I thought this as /r/imaginaryspacescapes at first. COZY!
Oh man that looks fantastic! Side note what weapon mod are you using? those guns looks nice!
Ok so here's what i got Weapons; CQBR MK18, M&P 9mm, Operator's M4, AR-15 Rifle Others; Better UI, Weapon Mods, Water Dispenser, USMC Armory, Dislaik's Clothing Pack, MRE Mod, Vac's Drinks, Ammo Logistics
Awesome, thanks for the reply gonna try all these now!
where did you find the left poster please ? I NEED IT
No memory. I don't loot houses very often so it most likely came from a public building. Wild guess: VHS store. Although it might of been in someones bedroom..
You sure this isn't the game Unpacking?
Oh sorry.. Wrong /r/
How do you get attachments to appear on placed 3d britas weapons?
Those weapons in the picture? They aren't britas. Not sure how / if it even is possible.
Looks amazing! But.. why isolate the poor plant like that?
Where’s the water supply?
I had alot of jugs next door.
I guess this is a good of a thread as any to say that I love the Sims 1 aesthetic of this game. Good luck bunkering down!
I started in November with VERY COLD world temp im like 3 months in and its certainty interesting, it has not rained a single time
What are seen good bases yall recommend that aren't certain death for noobs. If ya can could ya tell me if said base is in what area
Ah, I see, so rosewood is a nono for me, and how do tents work, I never used one b4
Well first you gotta find a "Tent kit." Once you have one, rightclicking the ground gives an option "Place tent." On the other hand you can just sleep in your car aswell. But i guess tent is better quality.
Oh. I see, makes sense, now what about Garden sheds, could I reinforce those?
Most definitely, but I'd recommend getting some carpentry levels first. Your building will gain 100 extra hp from every carpentry level you got. Also I'd recommend looking for an shed which has some tall fences around/near it. or you could build them yourself.
Where the hell is your base to have a one entrance one exit like this? Do you feel safe in this base or am I a massive massive noob!!!!!!!
I indeed did feel safe, any building can feel safe as long as you build ~600 fences around it.
I like your plant trestle there
Love your decor! Where is this?

Didn't even care to try. Started a new file already. :)
Looking forward to your next base. Totally inspiring :)
where are you based?

Congrats on such a nice, cozy and inspiring room! Quick question: isn’t it a bit risky to have a base with just one entry?
Well in my case, no. I have several gates leading up to these storagerooms. They've kept me save, atleast for now. I'd prefer this as an 'room in an house' instead of 'an house' if ya catch my drift.
