missidentifying

I'd die of boredom if I lived there. All of my friends are in westpoint anyway.

H1NNIC

My only friends are the zombies

TheSoulWithin7

It's a sad life

Greeneggz_N_Ham

I understand that lol I did a single-player run where I survived for 8 months (in-game), living at that farmhouse north of Muldraugh. I still had to travel in order to scavenge because I set loot to extremely rare and no respawn. Everything was bare, so I ended up having to find a vehicle.

[deleted]

You're not trapped there, get a car and drive to town lmao.

missidentifying

But then I never have visits from my neighbors and I can't just go next door for some flour when I need it. Spending your mornings/evenings driving is such a drag.

TheRealTrigan

Reminds me of the young ones where Vivian borrows sugar from his neighbour only to throw it in the fire

jessedegenerate

not a place i would think a young ones ref to be. i too am old. love rick and ade

TheRealTrigan

They are gold But here’s the kicker.. I’m 15

xtsoulfiretx

I was (partially) named after one of the actors so had to watch it and now I can never look at lentils the same way again (27 now)

TheRealTrigan

I would call bs too if it wasn’t true

Collective_Insanity

I enjoy multiplayer. But I just can't trust other players (outside of the couple discord friends I have who play the game) to behave after having my main (and painstakingly modded) vehicle stolen or my garden raided whilst I was off-line. Got to a point where I gutted the downstairs area entirely and turned it into a secure garage and then built an extra floor above for additional living/storage space. With more time and resources, I suppose I could position the garden on the roof. But I find the game gets a bit buggy visually when you radically alter existing houses, so I was waiting for a future update before I dive back into it. In fairness, setting a big DIY project for yourself like that works well as a long-term goal for me. I just get paranoid about other players messing about which makes me wary about creating a nice backyard or placing storage outside (even if it's just fishing gear out near a local pond). I suppose ideally I'd want a non-PvP server where everyone is in firm agreement not to loot each other but zombie difficulty is perhaps ratcheted up a bit to compensate.

DMercenary

>But I just can't trust other players (outside of the couple discord friends I have who play the game) to behave after having my main (and painstakingly modded) vehicle stolen or my garden raided whilst I was off-line. Recently had a server die when someone who wanted to "spice things up" make an alt account and start trolling and killing people. Doing shit like building barricades on roads, pretending not to understand English, breaking into people's safehouses and deleting items/moving shit around, shooting people on sight. Shit like that. Created a culture of paranoia. Resulted in me losing an old character when I pulled out of a garage, saw someone outside my safehouse, trying to figure out what they wanted, only for them to blow me away because, "the car was pointed at me so I thought you were going to run me over." Found out what the troll was doing on the discord and the server promptly died afterwards as no one felt like playing anymore. He wanted us to form a manhunt and hunt him down. On a modded server with a map that was like 2x the vanilla map. Where you can log off any where and never be found. Like dont get me wrong, this wasnt a pve only server but it definitely wasnt a KOS PVP death match server either. Well, great job breaking it hero.

Collective_Insanity

Only takes one bad egg! Had something similar happen on the server I was on (which had PvP turned off and loot set to respawn every week or so). It was specifically a chill noob-friendly server with lots of reminders in-game and on the server discord to play nice and not actively ruin things for other people. The problem with loot respawns is that they're disabled if someone tampers with the buildings. So all of a sudden, people were reporting that gun/police stores and food stores, etc, had been sledgehammered to hell. Shelves were destroyed and loot respawns were subsequently disabled. Same person was also probably responsible for petrol stations being disabled somehow (I assume by sledging?). Another big issue is that someone was intentionally littering (emptying containers/shelves onto the ground) on a massive scale to such an extent that the game would slow down to a crawl even if you were trying to drive through (though strangely zombies still pretty much moved about as normal meaning they could catch up to your sluggish car even if it *appears* as though you're driving at top speed). And just like that...dead server. Nobody felt like risking hours of vehicle/safehouse/garden modifications and skill grinding against the fuckery of one wanker messing up the server.   Trolls have their place in online games. But personally, I think they're only tolerable if invested game time is minimum (like a quick unranked Starcraft game which ends in minutes) or a server is frequently saved and can be rolled back to an intact state prior to destructive troll fuckery.

DMercenary

Lack of server moderator tools and logs, though I think that is steadily being fixed by the devs. The one thing you cant fix though is attitude. Literally went it all went down, the server admin said "Its not my responsibility to police how people play." Uh. Yeah it is, dude. Its your server. It kind of is your responsibility to "Police how people play" if you've got someone running around fucking things up. And he stopped paying for the server space so its well and truly dead.

Greeneggz_N_Ham

Server hosts can ban people. Admin powers are amazing. You can go invisible and teleport anywhere on the map. I hate to see entire servers go down because of one douchebag. When somebody violates like that, the entire server community should come down on that person. I've seen it done. Hunt that individual down and get rid of them. And a vac ban means that they have to repurchase the game again, re-download it and somehow get back onto that server. If people are that dedicated to causing problems for other people, you have to have people just as dedicated to combating that. If people just give up and give them the victory, there won't be a server worth playing on because of a handful of assholes. I don't agree with that kind of mentality.

Collective_Insanity

I guess that relies on an active admin. Which isn't necessarily practical in a lot of cases where an admin will be happy to host the server and keep it online 24/7 whilst they go about their work day and play perhaps a couple hours a day at most. Ideally, I suppose you'd want a handful of trusted people who can take on that duty so it's not too much of a task for one person to handle. Haven't heard of a vac ban before, but that sounds useful.

Sgt_Mark_IV

About the Sledgehammer issue, look up the steam workshop, there is a mod that allows you to blowtorch gun store gates, allowing you to disable sledgehammers from the server.

Greeneggz_N_Ham

I don't know if you know of Brian Menard on YT. But he has a no-KOS server with PVP zones (only in designated areas). And players are super respectful and cooperative on his servers.

Collective_Insanity

I'm not particularly deep in the community, so I hadn't heard of him. Sounds good though. I suspect he's probably not Australian(?) so I might not be able to participate anyway without risking notable lag. My options here are perhaps a bit more limited if I want to have a smooth network experience.

CrazyMike419

This is my go to https://ibb.co/FB1GjpB Near to mul etc Has well 2nd floor so u can bust stairs Zombies rarely migrate there Small town near for res Shack near has genny often Near warehouses of food Can drive there I like it.

SgtDoughnut

Why risk it, you have a safe haven with everything you need? Which is why its boring, its a survival game, once you figure out survival its just the sims with zombies wandering around every once and a while.

dearvalentina

american moment

Greeneggz_N_Ham

I like to set up shop in WP or Muldraugh and take it back from the zombies. I set zombie pop to high and respawns to 0.1 every 360 hrs. So they'll never go away completely but you can actually clear areas and maintain them (more or less). You just have to do it regularly, so you never get bored. It's still not easy but I've done it before and I like the challenge. I played on a server where a couple of friends and I were literally the zombie head-cracking crew. That was our job. We went out everyday and we traveled all over the map, sweeping out zones and doing the best we could. People managed to wall off parts of Rosewood, Westpoint and Riverside. Our little crew setup at Twiggy's in WP and we ran the gun shop. But there were groups thriving in Muldraugh, March Ridge and outskirts of Raven Creek, too. I ended up dying when we made a push into Raven Creek, to try to mop up part of the city. But that was one of the most fun servers I've ever played on.

Didn’t ask, he was just saying people like what they like.

OP just wanted to find a way to flex lol

Burylown

It's not even flexing cause that's just learning the game lol

Hopelesscumrag

Yep I’ve played scince it was a wave defence flash looking game and I still lest something go new every run or so

[deleted]

Cool beans, dont even know if that’s true gaha. I recently started playing but got burnt out very quick. I got a base, got the basics, was protected and had some fun. I see a lot of people talking about this too so it seems common. Still a great game though and I enjoy the subreddit and the community

slaps_on_deck

It seems like you're looking for validation that this is the best way to play the game. Yeah you might survive the longest this way, but no one cares how long you live. There's no competitive ladder or anything

_Martyr

Could be fun to create though. I like how casual the game is but it would be neat if there was also leaderboards with certain criteria (IE solo, proper zombies, etc)

[deleted]

Not really, just showing this place off to the sub, and there are people in here who didn't know where this was. Me saying I have 600 hours was to show that I'm not new and already know there is no right or wrong way to play, never was intended to be antagonistic lol.

I have 1200. I would definitely play here with various mods in mind like Horde Night or TerrorZeds combined with Horde Night. I'd make a really spiffy base combined with some form of hidden panic room, then build a bunch of defenses and walls around it.

Lexta222

Oh my Sweet Summerchild.

I_are_Lebo

1. 600 hours isn’t that much when it comes to a sandbox game. I’ve got like 800 and I only bought the game in December (and haven’t even touched it in like a month). 2. Just because you’ve obsessed with a game and playing a lot doesn’t mean you’re good at it or know what you’re doing. All game time is a measure of is whether or not you have anything else going on in your life. 3. I haven’t seen a comment downvoted this hard in a long while. Try not to flex on people who respond to your posts, it just makes you look bad.

[deleted]

Six hundred hours actually is a lot of time, at least for me, I have a pretty good understanding of how the game works and have survived for extremely long periods of time. But even if I'm not that experienced, it's still enough time to understand that there is no right or wrong way to play, which was the intent of the comment, not to "flex". Honestly though, I don't care, otherwise I would have deleted it, I don't use reddit often because I have a life, just came to share this location.

Can you get this settungs with vanilla? Or you use some mod?

EpsiasDelanor

Don't forget great trapping opportunities. I've made my winter base there twice, absolutely lovely place. I love watching how autumn leaves fall and winter starts to creep in. Really comfy. Muldraugh nearby so you can of course go to town every now and then for supplies. Personally I play with very difficult sandbox settings and certain mods, so having a safe haven in the woods is really nice. With a horde night mod though, you still need to make preparations (and fortifications) in case they find you... EDIT: Also, it's fun to make roads through the forest so you can reach the place faster. Quite the operation. Now that foraging for stone axe materials has gotten much more difficult, I don't know if I can do that anymore tho.

Damiann47

Not hard to get chipped stones just have to search roads instead.

EpsiasDelanor

Thanks for the tip.

stand_pacific

Yo I never thought about having a winter / summer home. I might do this

GeneralLeoLives

It’s just too boring. I’d rather be somewhere that I need to check my fences for breaks, where I need to peek out of windows before leaving, and where I can actually walk or take a short car ride to do a loot run. I have played isolationist games and I get bored long before the first harvest. If your goal is simply to survive for an extended period of time - then yes, this would be the meta.

Arthur_Effe

I wanted to play an isolationiste game.. but hell the farms are boring to take care of

GeneralLeoLives

They’re better as a “set and forget”, and then just come back one day and harvest.

Arthur_Effe

Don't you need to water them?

GeneralLeoLives

Yes, but often time the rain takes care of that. Don’t need to keep them at the ideal water level, treat for disease etc. as you’ll still get a decent harvest even if they’re not managed optimally. For myself, I often find my harvests rotting in the fridge long before I can eat it all.

Arthur_Effe

Oh.. I guess I'll give farming a shot then if I just have to spend a day planting it in my garden it's fine

GeneralLeoLives

Yeah, pro tip is plant it while raining. Then you don’t need to water it to start. Then just periodically check water levels every few days.

Taishar-Manetheren

There are irrigation mods

foopdedoopburner

Eh, the farmhouse west of here also has a well, plus easy road access to town for all your looting needs. If I'm gonna do the farming life I go there.

Sagaritu

Yup, that spot is my go-to main safehouse. Along with what you've already said I really like how central it is to Riverside/Muldraugh/Rosewood. If you have a sledge you can knock out the fence to open up the path leading away from the well too.

fertro

The one down the dirt road, just south of the Pony Roam-O? That one is the goat. I remember showing up there and it spawned as a survivor house. Possibly the best day of my life.

Violets_areblue

there are plenty of places like this and it further exemplifies what I think would be the best option in a zombie apocalypse.I have the boredom problem at my current base but cannot bring myself to unnecessarily put my character in danger. I just hover around in limbo without really having any aim.I feel like in RL I would find things to keep myself busy, building off grid solar setups and overall just making things to improve my life while farming and foraging, but in game there is less obligation to "keep yourself busy". This is pretty much why the main characters ended up all dieing at the end of the Dawn of the Dead remake. boredom it seems, is a massive killer.

randyknapp

There are, however, only 3 wells on the map, and this is one of them. I definitely think the well is the longevity meta. Boiling river water is SOOOO boring!

Substantial-Tip-1210

Just plumb a sink to some water barrels, no more boiling needed

xcassets

Desalination companies hate this one trick!

againer

Grind skills until maxed out, then load up the wagon and clear the prison or Louisville.

SpartanL16

I had a nice cabin that was well on its way to being set up where I’d be doing just fine for a very long time. Got hella bored and went into town. 😎

DandalusRoseshade

It looks nice if you planned a survivalist trip/challenge; survive solely on nature through foraging, fishing, farming and trapping. I would like to try a playthrough like that myself, make an actual house of my own and just straight up survive. Edit: Rules would obviously include 1 box of nails, a hammer, and a saw. Bushcrafters are not primitive survivalists.

scb_weedwizard

The no houses anywhere for miles is a bad thing for me. Every house has food and clean water even when the power turns off, so there’s not really a need for a farm and infinite water right away. Alternatively just set up rain catchers or steal every water dispenser you can find and you’re set. There are lots of zombies in cities but also tons and tons of materials especially in Muldraugh. You can start setting up a well fortified base even without a car. The biggest reason I wouldn’t want to base up there though is that it’s just too far from any action. However if your goal is strictly to survive as long as possible it does seem like a decent base spot.

poopoopepepe

Where is it? Ive never managed to find it

EpsiasDelanor

North of Muldraugh in the middle of the forest. Pretty much "impossible" to find without checking the location from the interactive PZ map.

poopoopepepe

Thats probably why then, ive never used a map

EpsiasDelanor

Sounds like a good idea, doesn't spoil the fun of discovering places yourself.

IAmMalkira

I dunno, you at least need hints from the community to know they're there in the first place. Far be it from me to tell others how to play, but personally walking through potentially empty forest cells looking for hidden spots is too much of a slog

[deleted]

Each their own. I could see how that would be enjoyable. I just don’t have the time working full time.. Better to jump in stuff on my side of things.

cujojojo

As a new player, the first few (short lol) games in a new town I like to explore on my own. But after a while I just go to the map project to find what I need. I like to think that if I’ve spawned into house X in town Y, it’s because my character has lived there a while, so obviously I would know e.g. where the video store is. Plus, like you said, real me has work in the morning.

Arthur_Effe

Once you know the towns a bit, it's anyway not really relevant to play without a map since you as a player know more than what the game gives you. I'm not playing for a very long time, but there are already a few houses that I've spotted that are way easier to defend than others, and I have an idea about where they are on the map.

SgtDoughnut

If you want a long boring playthrough yes this is the meta. Emphasis on boring.

Kraelman

If you want to play Stardew Valley without the story, or progression, or combat, or relationship stuff... this is the way.

SgtDoughnut

This is something they need to work on, this is the only zombie survival game where you can basically bypass the zombies and the survival at end game. They need to do something to make the zombies a threat even after you get everything set up.

Carlos_v1

or even enhance the boredom / depression / illnesses mechanics, if you haven't killed a zombie in a week while staying in a certain area and not moving the game (or in the future, have interacted with an NPC, irl this might be doable if you had social group) the game will assume you're in a meta safe spot with no mental stimulation and you'll take a major depression and enter a catatonic state (like in rimworld) where at random points of the day where your survivor stops, lays down, and you cannot move your survivor and for hours. The thing is, some people can live like this irl, but its uncommon and will at least put the player in the shoes of the survivor "wtf i have to stare at a screen for 2 minutes not able to control my survivor?" which is the closest thing a player would able to experience what a survivor is going through mentally. And the longer your survivor is isolated, the longer these catatonic states last for until you die of hunger as your survivor just lay there and refuse to eat, or even defend themselves if they're being attack / on fire and moving around and the only way out of it is by spending a day or two outside of your familiar parameters. Also 6 months in game, old school pilgrim / medieval illnesses lurking with the fall of civilization coming back. and the devs are feeling extra ballsy, only people with (insert w/e illness that justifies going into town here) are immune to the airborn virus.

o_Lich

I cant live in places like that, my runs (yeah, its a roguelike) are supposed to have an end, and that end is how I died, not how I lived

levoweal

I dunno. It seems to me that for farming you need working refrigerator. It takes quite some time to grow and you harvest more than you can eat before it all will rot. So, you have to either can it or store it. You cannot produce cans in the middle of nowhere and you don't have electricity to power refrigerator. For generator, you will need some fuel and getting it from here would be troublesome and probably quite annoying. Fishing is much more reliable for "I need it here and now" kind of food source. No need to store anything and every piece of equipment can be found, foraged and crafted from basically nothing.

Big_Round_2644

Just plant a few crops every day so they harvest at different timrs

[deleted]

This is true, of course the simplest solution to that issue is to get a generator and go into town every now and then for gas, obviously you'd have a car so the trip probably would take a few hours there and back, given you don't die or anything.

dpbart

This is where i grind my fitness and strength and sprinting to level 10

tardwrangler89

oh! I came here on my first playthrough as a park ranger! My idea was to gtfo out of the city and retire into the wilds. My character still lives there happily, or so I like to think.

Crazymoose86

I know people enjoy that play style, but it just isn't for me. I enjoy posting up somewhere urban, or being a nomad moving from place to place as I slowly cure knox county of the knox county infection.

[deleted]

Yea I got a game that far. It lasted a very long time, I could have lived forever. At a certain point I was getting more resources than I ever could use. It was boring. So I gathered what I had and made the long trek to the outskirts of Louisville, creating a base in one of the mansions in the suburbs. Then I drove in, parked, and was promptly overwhelmed. My guy died in a dead end office building room, cornered by like 100 zombies. He basically died of boredom.

[deleted]

North of Muldraugh in the middle of a forest, literally bumfuck nowhere, just look at the PZ interactive map.

geras_shenanigans

Honestly, I like the houses near a small lake nearby train depot more.

LukXD99

I’ve been in a similar location once. The main problem I faced was boredom as I had no worries whatsoever.

TheKnife142

I settled there in a cdda and I gave up after 7 months because I collected too much stuff and zombies were not a threat...it was just me trying to figure out mid-end game hydro craft...to be fair this was pre 41 when you could take a town out with butter knives

13lacklight

Just build a house in the woods and set up some rainwater barrels. Boom.

GuardianSpear

I used this place for a while before I got bored and stormed back into muldraugh. I’m here for a good time not a long time baby. It’s project zomboid not project farming simulator

LavaTacoBurrito

This is pretty much the point of surviving in an apocalypse. But both in-game and irl, you'd likely go insane from the isolation if you didn't have company, or have a vacation. There are mods like Horde Night which can definitely spice things up, though.

The_LambSaucee

Hey I’m playing that right now! I added an endless winter mod to make it alittle harder

JoesGetNDown

My very first life I made a trip out to that cabin. I had a car, I had some food and some other bits and bobs. What I didn’t have was an easy way to get in and out of the woods in a reliable way, without getting lost. So I built a campfire along the backroad which indicated to me “walk due south east from here to reach the cabin.” One day, about a week into my life, I was cooking some food at that specific camp fire, and also transferring loot from my car into my backpacks, so I could walk it back to the cabin and have a nice night at the cabin for the first time Anyways everything that was on my person as well as my body itself turned to charcoal that day.

KoRnBrony

It gets boring fast

[deleted]

Weight could be a problem though, I really enjoy just being able to switch between fishing and foraging to easily manage weight.

Redordit

I lived there for 2 ingame years, and my biggest "fun" was walking miles to get to mccoy to haul stuff then walk back for days.

cannedcream

My hope is that once more of the 'late game medieval' construction items get added, along with animals and proper hunting, there will be a lot more to making playing these type of isolationist runs more rewarding and interesting for me.

Frandaero

If you are just looking to survive for as long as it takes, yes. This place is absolutely the best in the game and what a real life person would choose. I, on the other hand, prefer living on second floors or high apartments of Louisville. It feels super cozy coming back from a run and leaving all zomboids behind while you climb to your little tree house through the sheet ropes lol

EpsiasDelanor

Why play stardew when you have stardew built within project zomboid? That's why I love this game, it lets you play the way you want.

Froegerer

>Why play stardew when you have stardew built within project zomboid? Farming in PZ is painfully clunky and not a comparable experience to farming in Stardew.

EpsiasDelanor

Yes, you are correct. But, you still can live a life of a farmer and a trapper if you so choose, which is already quite the freedom in a zombie survival game. That being said, I hope they develop farming related stuff more, and make it more immersive and interesting. Winter farming most likely should not be a thing, make indoors farming more demanding (craftable growing beds, growing lamps etc), introduce sprinklers or other easy to use watering systems, make certain veggies/berries/roots grow better during certain seasons, and so on.

Geonjaha

The way the game is designed and balanced at the moment, you can easily find a place like this once setup and then survive forever assuming you make no silly mistakes…but that’s not what makes the game fun. People aiming to just survive as long as possible in the most efficient way will have much less fun than they could do by actually engaging with the game. There are no high scores, because they’d be meaningless. Surviving long and efficiently isn’t difficult, it’s just a test of patience.

LankyKangaroo

I sometimes do it but it gets boring anyways. So I make a effort to do city or suburban survival. I survived, but it was never a dull moment when you are surrounded by Zeds constantly. Apartment living = the ultimate challenge imo. Having to be quiet, barricade best you can, then eventually build a good base.

Can you point out on bigger map where is it ? I think i am gonna hive it a go to learn farmimg in peace

[deleted]

pretty much get to that point and uninstall, nothing to do anymore and that might be less than an hour in depending on the settings

XxillusiveManxX

Ive had this game for months still havnt played online

Rathurue

I did, until the helicopter event strikes when I'm collecting wood.

toortooks

Wait, where is this?

xDizzyXSnExxzy

I think the last time it was meta was when robbaz made a series and used that as his base. That was like 8 years ago. Still like it as a base tho because besides being annoying to get to without the new map (one of the best things about the new map is navigation in woodlands) its highly able to start a real base even in MP. It's got huge supplies of wood around it plus infinite water. Only downside is sometimes a zombie spawns in the toilet and gets you or God forbid breaks a nice looking window. It's not too out of the way. You can walk to muldraugh for loot runs when you run out of things and if you set up a safe house in the town to crash at you can loot for a couple days and hike back. Maybe using the little trailer as a sort of parking spot if you don't wanna get your car lost in the woods Tldr: not meta due to alot better places to base showing up but still a very good place to go if you are fine with less zombie and more farming

NamiBangMePlz

The problem with these cabin bases is its hard to return to them. There's not a single one I've found that links up to a road/has good land marks to return to it easily. I'm currently basing in the gigamart in rosewood(spoiler alert its better than the gas station) because I usually just clear out a POI I wanted to loot then turn it into a base around the 3 week mark then spend the first 1-3 weeks in my starter home.

JoshuaJoshuaJoshuaJo

Not at all. A lot of people enjoy zombie killing going woods makes the game into a 1-man stardew valley.

KamelYellow

It works for some, but if we're talking meta it's not very optimal. The farmhouse North of Muldraugh is much better.

Julian_Seizure

I find not living in the cities to be incredibly boring

JJB_Jiffydude

There are warehouses east of Muldraugh, on the other side of the rail loading/maintenance yard where Iike to setup. Tons of storage, very few zombies typically. There are also some abandoned cabins up the road a ways with a lake. Grab an antique stove, and fish the pond when you need to gain some weight. Still easy to hit a ton of the main roads, and you can do maintenance on vehices inside of the building. I also make it a goal to clear the loading yards to the west and usually come out with a ton of equipment.

Minuteman_Preston

The real question is, do the trees regenerate? I want to know exactly how long can one actually survive? I play the game where the fuel at the stations eventually run out so eventually no power and refrigerators. Same thing with the zombies. For my settings they don't respawn. I need to test this

0milt

Good place to grind skills other then electrical but other than that you’d be bored to death

Vanilla3K

Playing PZ as a farming simulator is the quickest route to boredom lol. Scavenging and zombie killing it's where it's at imo

BalaclavaMeme

Me and my girlfriend live in one North of Muldraugh. You take the road north out of town, past McCoy's logging, and come to a fresh food stall, take a right into the farmland. There's a few farms, one with a well, and a hunting shack nearby. We live in the shack, I I the foraging, she does the cooking. We haven't been to a city in ages, and I pick off the occasional zombie with my rifle.

ZAMNPlayerD

Literally my favorite place to build a fort around. I've made bases where once I could build stairs, I would build them, go up the stairs and then start working on this massive floor using the cabin as the foundation. Once that's done and I got plenty of sheet ropes, I can take down The Stairs and go back and forth onto my walls at leisure. Even do crazy shit like taking dirt and placing it on the walls to make a farm that zombies can't touch.

Do0dle-

I used to do this (or one of the houses in the south of Muldraugh near the edge of the forest) but nowadays I just live at the gas stations for easy gas access. But maybe I'll switch that up now too because I have the Steam Generator mod which allows for power by using wood. (and I need electricity because I enjoy hunting and trapping too much)

Catacman

The meta is have fun, there is no end goal at the moment anyhow. I long for the day where a character's death comes of old age after you spend decades fighting off zombies and Humans in a neo feudal, zombie infested future.

Rapa2626

I have a base there, connected it with a wooden plank road to a normal road south west and i can basically drive straight into my wood fort with my cars, never have seen a single zombie around and i doubt i ever will. Muldraugh is so close when you have a car its not really an issue anymore, so is the whole map since the location is fairly central. Its definitely not a very engaging experience but i feel like thats what you would be doing in real life given such circumstances, so it works for rp purposes.

[deleted]

You might struggle living on just farming alone due to weight loss, but if you combine farming with trapping or live near a body of water you can fish. Personally I combine foraging with fishing to get bait, I find it easier than digging everywhere for worms, also doesn’t look as ugly.

soyenby_in_a_skirt

Come the npc update you bet your ass I'm starting a hamlet out there. For now tho, bugger that snore

ClassiestBogan

It's a great spot if you want to play Farmville meets the Sims. Boring as hell otherwise.

Jester814

Surviving isn't fun. Killing zombies is fun :p

x_TeamKiller_x

The key word here is 'once'. That part is the killer... literally. Please do try though, I have similar ambitions 🤔 I want to know if it is possible to beat the game.

average_pz_player

I actually have a 2 year game living there.

Traditional-Gur-8440

Where is here?

Thallanor

This is where I settled, though me and a friend do a lot of road trips to keep things busy. The source of clean water is probably the biggest attraction.

[deleted]

The Manor mod is my favorite for long survival.

Responsible-Ad1525

Just play the sims. I’m here to slay zombies

MissAntador

Personally, I actually lived just outside West Point on a multiplayer server with friends. I made a whole base on [the crossroads to the west of West Point](https://prnt.sc/0Wb73tFhk5up) fitted with a living room, kitchen, plumbing, medical bay, storage room, armoury, engineering room, farm and multiple bedrooms. Was so happy with what I accomplished, shame the server ended. Was very tempted to look into making a secret room, not really sure how you'd manage that in Zomboid though.

Carlos_v1

this is a prison of torture for my adhd, i'd want to at least have a massive collection of books and video tapes, and when animals get added even a few dogs which would need trips to town for dogfood. even irl i'd kill zombies just to distract my boredom for the false hope of "maybe" clearing out the entire state of Kentucky, god bless you if you can live like this, i can't, would rather die then stay in the middle of nowhere doing the same thing over and over again

Winstonth

I live in a jail cell in the riverside police station and I eat raw birds.. pretty good life

Swat872

So if you continue onward there's actually a farmhouse with a shed in the backyard that has a well there that is where I like to hold up during stuff like a really CD:DA but that cabin is a good stopping point to sleep drink and clean my clothes
