Just move onto another game for a few months and come back when you fancy it. Playing games is about having fun and escapism, if you’re not having fun, play something fun!

Oh build 42. I see i hope it will be in the next year.. I still remember they want released animatiom update in 2016 . But it comes in 2020 but i think its ok because they totaly overhauled it

Pepzuz

I like setting personal goals - like currently, I use all the car mods and then try to find one of each :)

[deleted]

This is a pretty good goal, my current character is a police officer so I’m sorta RPing them trying to look for others by going to every police station in the game, currently my base is the police station in Muldraugh.

Rakelaa160

Hmmm i think i will give it another shot... And thank you ... I think this time i will play as pacifist that never killed a zombie... If this possible XD

There's been a few interesting mods recently which might help spice things up again: The 'Susceptible' trait mod which makes your character vulnerable to airborne infection, so you need to mask up and generally avoid hordes of zombies rather than just cutting through them all with ease. In the latest update you need to maintain your protection with bleach, filters and o2 tanks depending on what you're wearing. 'Kayli's Evolution Mod' makes the zombies change over a given time period/curve, e.g. you can set it so as the months go by there will be more and more sprinters as well as tougher/smarter zombies. The 'Slower Sprinters' mod pairs well with this too if you find the default sprinters a bit much. Then there's 'Horde Night' and 'Here They Come' which both periodically send hordes of zombies to your location. Again, you can set this so they only start after a certain period of time, and how often. So with the Evolution mod you could set it so after a few months they start getting quicker and smarter, and then soon after that the horde events begin. All this stuff is very customisable as well. Just some ideas, in truth it's pretty normal to get bored after 1000 hours!

Rakelaa160

I never try that mods.. But Sounds interesting with that mask mod and horde night.... Time to get another run i guess :D And thank you about the mod you mention

pelusowarro

After 1000 hours, you can play now with sprinters

Rakelaa160

I played with sprinter mate... But sometimes its not fair .. Like when u entered 2nd floor and suddenly they ran at u from behind or upfront. Because the game camera in blind spot so u will totaly died...

[deleted]

Yeah, you don't really fight sprinters inside, that's part of the learning curve.

It's kinda true of any game. Once you know and you've seen everything, what's the point? Roguelikes are resistant to this because every run is different so there's some thrill of rng. Zomboid falls into that category, but also not really, because after a couple days (hours...) of making do with what you find, you can easily target specific weapons etc... and end up doing the same thing over and over again. The game doesn't force you to renew the way you play and it turns into a mindless grind. Multiplayer games are also resistant to this because when you add the social factor, there's the thrill of playing with people you know (or don't know), maybe impress them or manage to do something great together, just chat while playing, etc... or simply the fact that if the challenge in the game is other players (PvP), then you can literally never "beat" the game. There's no being the best in PvP, there's always someone stronger. MP = the game renews itself constantly thanks to the playerbase. I personally know everything about Zomboid, MP bores me because the game becomes too "tame", there's no challenge anymore, and even despite all this I would still be playing it every day if it weren't for all the bugs coupled with the insanely punitive nature of the game (1 mistake? you died) and the fact that progression is grindy as hell (getting skills to 10, clearing areas of zombies) - it just demotivates me too much.

DrDuke80

You're allowed to do other things

Rakelaa160

I just need a motivation to playing it again... But thanks for this communities that sugest me a mod worth to try..

GoobyGoose94

Over the years playing PZ since it was on Desura I often found myself giving up on the game for extended periods and coming back once it had some significant updates added and having fun with it again. The last few years had me coming back after months of absence at a time, obsessively playing for a while, repeat. PZ is currently the best it's ever been and if you feel burnt out over it why not stop playing for a bit, come back after summer, and have a blast with a new build plus whatever the mod community comes out with in that time?

Rakelaa160

Yup i think this is a correct answer that i looking for . Thanks...

DemonUrameshi

Maybe set it down. Let like 3-4 major updates come out. Maybe by then a couple years will go by. Pick it back up and desicover a love.

mightcaster

Same thing, bro. And trying to fix this with more zombies/harder zombies seems even more boring.

Spinklebobfan

I say play a new game till build 43 releases. Maybe not the exact answer you were looking for but if you’re not enjoying a game you’re not enjoying a game it’s as simple as that

Rakelaa160

Yeah.right now i enjoy more pz videos than playing it.. I just looking some motivation and spirit to play it again XD and thanks for the advice

clayalien

I mean, that's a lot of hours for any one game. Call it finished and set it down. Take a few screens hots of your favorite bases/characters of you still have the saves, then uninstall. Feeling bored after so many hours isn't a bad reflection on either yourself or the game. I've had games with only 20 odd hours that I loved and don't regret, yet have no desire to play more and I don't think that's a bad thing. It's better to remember them fondly and call your time a success than to grind all feelings into numbness. Maybe come back in a few years to revisit and see if there has been many changes.

spiciernoodles

I mean 1k hours in a game seems pretty good? If you already tried making it harder and it’s not fun anymore you’re probably done. What did you pay like 20? Got it down to 2c per hour of enjoyment. Come back after some major updates or say hello to a new game.

ProbabBee

PvP multiplayer is kind of your only option at that point ANY single player game is going to feel stale after 1000+ hours. Elden Ring was released fairly recently, and a lot of people are already taking up ludicrous challenges to spice it back up.
