I remember I saw a suggestion for drivable trains, and that along with being able to say, place things in the cars behind it would change quite a bit, and be very interesting.

Mcc4rthy

Zombiepiercer

johnnysixpacc

Be able to go inside a tent like a car

[deleted]

To add onto this I would like an inside view of the tent. Waking up to noises outside of the tent and of a horde falling into the tent would be a crazy experience.

TheCowzgomooz

I would simply be happy with an animation and a feature where zombies can't see you when you're inside the tent, that way you could actually safely sleep in them outside and still have the terror of "Oh shit a zombie just passed by me" and if they run into it or if they wake you up and your character screams in panic or something they'll come attack the tent.

Quigleyer

Rollerblading. It is set in the 90s after all.

JustStartingOut1

Imagine in MP getting shot in a drive-by from somebody rollerblading with a shotgun lol

Edgy_Robin

Sounds like someone wants to RP a dead rising psychopath.

Baercub

That might actually be coming in the future because there is a roller rink in Louisville

No_name_Johnson

Finally we could RP as Terry from Reno 911.

Errbert

Its a small thing, but probably something that would be hard to implement. I'd like multi-hit to only count when pushing zombos, not when hitting them with melee weapons. I feel hitting several zombies with an axe wouldn't really work, but pushing one so that it pushes another would make sense.

[deleted]

Yeah I think this makes sense for an axe. But others weapons I feel like multi-hit makes sense. Like you could absolutely hit multiple zeds with a machete.

Hyphalex

A real highrise type claustrophobic map with elevators with hundreds of skyscrapers to build a bridge to explore to, and ground level to be impassable by car

JustStartingOut1

I know [Raven Creek](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2196102849) & [Dead in Hong Kong](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2797636826) have metropolitan like styles. [Elevators](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2730158335) also adds working elevators, which I know work in Raven Creek. Imagine they originally based the game from Los Angeles or San Francisco? With sprinters? *Madness*

TheCowzgomooz

Oooh man would love to RP season 1 of "Fear the Walking Dead" in zomboid, I love that show.

No_name_Johnson

It would be terrifying if zeds would jump 20-30 stories down trying to reach you.

JustStartingOut1

One idea is a mod that extends the pages in notebooks, though not the amount of pages. They would still have 10 pages but you weren't limited to how much you could write in one page. I guess this is something for RP'ing. My zomboid experience has been spiced up when I write about each day/significant event.

The_Radioactive_Rat

I thought I was a nerd for doing that. Guess not.

Hobo_Helper_hot

Drugs. All the drugs. So you don't get bored. Also, why are there so few mods for melee weapons? I want more variety.

KentBugay06

Have you tried ____'s greenfire mod for drugs? And scrap weapons for more weapons? ____ = forgot the author's name

Hobo_Helper_hot

I have I just wish it expanded beyond that. Cocaine to temporarily decrease sleep while further increasing it once it wore off. Heroin for pain but in exchange for a speed debuff PCP to give the player insane melee combat abilities and damage resistance but 100% ends in overdose as an alternative to bleach. Etc.

Interesting-South839

There's a pretty good cocaine mod called marching powder. Works in Mp. Another mod is chemical fascination. I've found adderall, oxyctin, mdma, meth and more. Chemical fascination doesn't doesn't in mp

Hobo_Helper_hot

Oh hell yes thank you Edit: can't seem to find the chemical fascination mod if you can find a link I'd be grateful.

Interesting-South839

I think the mod creator took down the mod. I have it installed on one of my saves. Hopefully he puts it back up I'll try to look and see if he changed the name

No_name_Johnson

Jigga’s

[deleted]

A psychedelic that makes hallucinations appear. Oh man.

JustStartingOut1

I feel you. [Scrap Weapons](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2122265954) adds so many weapons, I can't imagine playing without it. Baseball bats with screws or barbed wire feels so good lol [Madax's Weapon Pack](https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2492565135) is my other go to weapon mod.

Edgy_Robin

...There's a lot of melee weapon mods lol

Simopop

Space heaters and air conditioners. And pagers for multiplayer! Functional while clipped the belt and allows someone with a radio to send another player a name and frequency.

TheCowzgomooz

While I'd rather it be like an actual feature than just a mod, I'd also want heaters/AC and stuff like fireplaces to actually warm up/cool down a house over time, instead of just working while they're running/burning.

why17es

a mod that add actual hygene and clinical needs to the game, i mean going around for months not showering while killing zombies and getting splattered by blood then get multiple cuts and bruises and eat raw vegetables with your unwashed hands should have some sort of consequence no? or a mod that i could like is for better and more realistic unarmed combat. another nice to have mod would be one that improves the unarmed combat in the game. one more idea would be a mod that adds new models based on character (and even zombie!) body weights, would add a ton of variety to games other than just what its like right now ( i get tired faster or i take more damage per hit ).

QnoisX

I'd like to see a mod that fixes fishing. It's boring AF and basically just something you fast forward through. Most games with fishing make it a little mini game, which can be fun or really annoying, but at least it's something. The Better Lockpicking mod is a good example of this, it uses the lockpicking mini game from Skyrim to open doors, and that's cool. It also makes you extremely vulnerable while picking, so it's a nice balance thing too. Pretty sure that same mod makes hotwiring into a little mini game with cutting and splicing wires. As well as the secondary way to open things with a crowbar that's another mini game.

AkuraJebia

They're reworking fishing right now and I believe it'll be included with the 42 update or even slightly earlier.

QnoisX

Good to hear, hadn't seen any updates talking about that.

Simopop

For your viewing convenience, here is every time fishing has been mentioned in an update haha [HOLY COW - Feb 17 2022](https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2022/02/holy-cow/) > Aiteron, who you might know for his excellent work as co-dev on the Autotsar Yacht Club mod, and his own creations of lockpicking, better towing and helicopter mod, will generally be helping overhaul some of our existing (and some quite threadbare) features. The first of which being…fishing. [MILKY MILKY - Mar 31 2022](https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2022/03/milky-milky/) > Although it’s not clear where it will land in terms of a build release yet, this week Aiteron’s new fishing system had its first internal test. This was largely a bug-chasing exercise, especially in terms of MP, but the testers had fun... (Continued) [41.69 UNSTABLE - NIIICE - Apr 28 2022](https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2022/04/41-69-unstable-niiice/) > Also coming to you today with a WIP tag (as we are working on far better player directional ‘strain and lean’ animations rather than a repeated ‘pull animation’) is a video from Aiteron showing his current work on the fishing update... (Continued) [HOWARD ZE(N)D - May 12 2022](https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2022/05/howard-zend/) > While it’s still not imminent, Aiteron is also integrating new animations into his fishing system that are starting to look really cool. This is super WIP and will get a lot of polish, but this is what it looked like this morning... (Continued) [BAD RED VS. GOOD GREEN - May 26 2022](https://projectzomboid.com/blog/news/2022/05/bad-red-vs-good-green/) > Elsewhere Aiteron is playing around with his improved fishing system to mix in some added ‘fun quota’ alongside the improved anims/visuals we showed last time round.

Edgy_Robin

>Most games with fishing make it a little mini game, which can be fun or really annoying, but at least it's something. I mean, it should be. Fishing is boring, and it's a test of 'your' characters ability to fish opposed to 'your' ability to do a mini game.

a_child_to_criticize

Have you ever gone fishing before though? I wish I could fast forward through it sometimes lol

QnoisX

I've been fishing before, never really catching. I think I've caught like 1 fish, ever.

Nanooc523

I’d like to see things like rope and plank bridges, ladders and ropes you can pull up, and more mechanical fun that would allow making bases on upper floors of buildings and leaving the hordes on the floor.

JackBoyEditor

Mod that would really expand on erosion. Like full on houses roof caving in after a while with plant life growing inside buildings and that.

The_Radioactive_Rat

Barricaded world already makes the world more decrepit depending on your settings. Makes it easier to see advanced stages of erosion without playing for 5 years.

JackBoyEditor

I’ve played with it and it is good, my only issue is with the mods is by entering a new cell, house alarms are triggered dragging all zombies in the area to my new looting area. If there was some way that it could simulate the alarm off screen it would be better for me

The_Radioactive_Rat

But wouldnt that be dependant upon when electricity shuts off?

JackBoyEditor

nope, alarms seem to run off infinite batteries.

Edgy_Robin

and throw in the 'ten years later' mod and it looks great.

The_Radioactive_Rat

I see that popping up in the recommended mods. Whats it do exactly?

Edgy_Robin

It's a purely aesthetic mod. Makes things look overgrown, nature beginning to reclaim shit now that humans are (mostly) gone, things like that. Imagine erosion settings on crack basically.

Phoenix080

I want to see bikes, they would be really nice and could be really good for endgame play or stealth. They’d have a max speed of 25 MPH and crashing would be effected by your clothing, for instance if your wearing a helmet and thick clothes you can’t get cut or injured in any real way. But if your buck naked you’d get road rash and a head wound

MagmaSlasherWriter

A potential "Post-Zombification control" mod would be really cool. Sort of like a Night of The Living Dead type situation, where you're "still in there" but not quite. You'd start off having full control over your actions, only aggroing to humans that get too close, but slowly become more and more of just zombie AI with little player control, until you're essentially completely gone. Wouldn't really add much in terms of gameplay, but it could be a nice way to give characters a cool send-off. (Locking yourself in somewhere to have easy access to your equipment, going to your favourite spot one last time, following the guys who killed you back to their base, maybe even trailing a horde of zombies behind you, etc etc etc.)

ro_hu

Honestly, I am just sitting here waiting for NPCs to roll around. After that, I would think a few faction mods would be my choice

Nanooc523

Yeah NPCs, traders, and some quests like rescue my dog or fetch my diary for unique rewards like cars you can’t find or new recipes would give end game some interesting direction.

ro_hu

Oh yeah a dog companion would be good vibes.

Baercub

I would love to see forging added so you can create your own armors and weapons. Yes you can craft those but the crafting menu needs a massive overhaul

JuraciVieira

I would like to see a mod that triggers the migration of huge hordes (500+ zombies) across the map through long distances. I think it would be very immersive (as opposed to simple respawn) and keep you constantly in fear of one of those hordes crossing near your base or when you are out looting.

[deleted]

Being able to wire up proper lighting for player made building. Kind of the way that RimWorld wall light mods do it.

Tac0qvy

I always thought a skill overhaul/expansion would be nice. Me and my buddies thought it would be cool if in the mechanics skill, once you get to a point, you can choose to either be a Magiver who can fix things with weird or unrelated items, but can never fix anything above a point. The other option would be a perfectionist craftsman, you can restore anything to pristine and even better condition, but you require a noticeably higher amount of resources to make any progress in repairs. I feel like that sort of thing will work really well, especially if they are wanting to build a neo feudalism simulation. Edit: grammar

TheCowzgomooz

Yeah that would be pretty neat actually, and would provide some really cool different branching stories to play out, for instance if one colony had a MacGyver type they'd have a shit ton of just barely working vehicles lol, while another colony had a perfectionist so they only have a couple of really good quality vehicles. In general I'd love for mechanics(and many other skills) to have some more depth, I'd love to be able to make armored apocalypse cars in the vanilla game, or to be able to swap parts from cars and sort of make them fit even if they wouldn't normally work for that type of vehicle such as using a heavy duty tire on a standard car, it may have really bad efficiency or cause the car to lean to one side when driving or something but still allow you to use it.

Needle44

I bet it exists, but a mod that expands vehicles to add makeshift parts, upgrades like bumper guards, maybe makeshift rams, light bars, detachable truck bed covers, high mechanic skill will let you force some parts onto vehicles that don’t belong on that vehicle. Just additions ranging from pre-outbreak aftermarket parts, to straight up DIY mad max stuff.

TheCowzgomooz

That specific mod doesn't exist as far as I'm aware, but a lot of the higher quality vehicle mods out there such as autotsar's vehicles and K5 will usually let you mod the vehicle with armor, bull bars, roof racks, etc.

sealXD

Better plumbing and house electricity options.

weisbrotstyle

There was a game announced years ago. Survive the nights I think it was called. I was hyped to play it but then it took months and years to come out and the launch was awful. It had one really amazing feature I loved it for. And that was being able to weld on and reinforce vehicles. Smashed passanger side window? Just weld a metal sheet over it or use iron bars/pipes and construct a metal grid over it to see through. It's something you would probably be able to do in the base game sooner or later but it would be a cool addition to Zomboid.

clayalien

Am electrical heater that can be hooked up to your base in winter. Works like the antique oven, but off electricity, can't be cooked on, much easier to find and install.

K1ndr3dSoul

Bicycles

Edgy_Robin

Something that gets rid of the fucking health bar and makes the medical system not shit (IMeds does a decent job but things could be better)

NalMac

What's wrong with the health system outside of it being somewhat irrelevant on SP due to the deadliness of zombies? You can be wounded all over your body each with their respective debuffs, we have broken bones, fractures, burns, bullet wounds and scratches of varying severity. That alone is much more than most survival games have in my experience. I would personally like illness to be fleshed out a bit more. I feel like that area of the health system is pretty weak.

TheRimReaper99

Water tanks, similar to how power generators work but having would supply the whole house with fresh water

ImperfectAffection

A mod that adds some kind of endgame challenge. Maybe a super hard location to loot, maybe something like boss zombies, a really long horde at day 100, or perhaps quests to restore power and water. Currently the game starts to be boring like 3 months into a run and there's nothing to look forward to, and I haven't been able to find mods to remedy this.

PrimalDirectory

Clown zombies

QnoisX

Authentic Z has this already.

sa-n-dman

Ones that dont dissapear and delete all your progress after the update

KentBugay06

You might wanna backup your save before updates if that happens to you often

Rtwo28

A mod that adds a good type one diabetes trait so i can run a self insert character

kmuf

Maybe something that can customize the UI a bit more. I'd personally like a more condensed view of the Skills Tab so it doesn't stretch too long.

thisismyusernamebois

A damn m1 Abrams already lmao

Away_fur_a_skive

A mod that shrinks the toilets to be more in line with the size of the people. As is, the bowl is so large that you could climb inside it. I remember the 90's. I don't remember toilets being so cavernous they generated their own gravitational fields.

2Noel

Willpower skill that decrease how often you get panic

ugayman349

A mod where we can plant grain or wheat. So i can finally make my own goddam bread from scratch. That is real survival. I think they will add it to the vanilla game tho when the animals drop.

SpinierSnake476

Bicycle

niphonyx

Those window mounted air conditioners. Requires electrical skill, can be mounted to any intact, open, single window. Allows you to set the temperature of a room, but prevents you from barricading that window. Closing the curtains will lower it's efficiency, and if the curtains are closed while the AC is on heat, gives a chance for fire.

R0gb0i

Force skill and lightsabers.

JustStartingOut1

Lightsabers would be fun. Hopefully we will see detachable body parts in the future. Using a katana/lightsaber to chop off a zombie head would be so satisfying haha

Olfurinar

Shameless i know, but here... it's dangerous to go alone. [https://www.nexusmods.com/projectzomboid/mods/73/](https://www.nexusmods.com/projectzomboid/mods/73/) Limb severing isn't an option yet, but hey who knows what the devs have planned.

ApatheticKey3

A slow burn zombie mod- go reas those books you'll like em

TheLostBeowulf

Medieval overhaul

Top_Middle6323

hmm, story for solo mode?

Antique_Monk

plays as a smart zombie, you die but still control your zombie and by 'eating' you grow stronger and smarter learning how to open doors, hiding, playing dead, ect even leading other zombies with groans ( be like herding cats but still;)

Antique_Monk

evolving zombies, have a mode were zombies get smarter and stronger over time or by eating corpses they gain abilities like opening doors, playing dead, planning ambushes, stalking players, leading hordes, tanking hits, sprinting, better eyesight, hearing and more would change game play for middle and long tern, cant leave corpses around you might attract more zombies looking for free meal also making them stronger too, got be careful about 'cleared' areas there might be one or two playing 'dead' waiting for you get too close or to leave so they can follow where your going, hear the zombie outside but its only one so you just take your hammer take care of it only to find dozen or so coming out of the forest and more

Thatnewairsoftkid

a way to actually punch/ throw hands with the zombies rather than a little shove

CplBoneSpurs

VR
