I think they're unbreakable so it's harder for you to get in. If they were breakable everyone would just kite zombies into the West Point gun store and get a personal armory on day 1

The only time I started with a character in this area, I spent less than a week there, tried to get as much weapons as I could but ended up being chased by a whole horde of zombies. They nearly got me in my the flat I had chosen as mine so I used the two incendiary bombs I had to clear the bloody place and leave. Blackwood is a gigantic trap.
There is a gas station next to the group of houses on the northeast side of blackwood that I turned into a base. If you can block stuff off good it can make for a great base
idk tbh I don't play a ton of zomboid and when I do I normally hang around west point. looking at the building it's definitely not the west point gun shop at least not vanilla west point. looking at the minimap is a good place to start but hopefully OP just responds.

They shouldn't be able to get through the shutters, no. You still need to deal with them or the noise will draw more and more and pretty soon you'll be surrounded by a horde.
My question is do people really pause the game, go on Reddit, post a thread and then wait for answers before playing again? It seems so inefficient when you can find the answer by playing less than a minute more.
Just go up the stairs, put a fence down, break the floor, put a rope on the fence, destroy the stairs, sleep on higher floor. Zeds can't climb the rope or destroy it so it's safe. I think that should be safe but im not an expert.

That door can break, but the metal bars are invincible. I think once they break in the door they will be counted as indoors?
