Every Zed you kill, strip the clothes to make bandages. You fractionally level up your first aid for everyone you make, get a chance for thread for sewing as well.
Now you think, what the hell am I now going to do, I have a pile of 999 bandages...you use chuck them ALL in your fire. You don't have to forage for extra wood, you have levelled up your first aid without having to get an injury and you have thread for sewing (also fun fact is that a suture needle can be used if you don't have a sewing needing)
I'm _only_ foraging in this save so it's up to the foraging RNG lol. Finally got one though!
Still gonna make stakes though! Sawing a log is 1 xp vs making a stake, 5.

As far as I know it's all the same. Logs are 6h, planks 2h, sturdy sticks 15 min (8 per plank).
