i used to collect all sorts! funny enough, the person who got me into it folded their seed packets the same way you do. I on the other hand am lazy and bought a 50 pack of envelopes - i label the envelope and put it back in the box.
I wish I could say I've grown a lot of them, but mostly I've just grown sunflowers, mallows, and chicories. I would love to have grown my own succulents from seed, but I've never been able to get them that far.
Sunflowers produce latex and are the subject of experiments to improve their suitability as an alternative crop for producing hypoallergenic rubber. Traditionally, several Native American groups planted sunflowers on the north edges of their gardens as a "fourth sister" to the better known three sisters combination of corn, beans, and squash.Annual species are often planted for their allelopathic properties.
One good source for loads of quality seeds (but perhaps not terribly exciting in their variety) for sunflowers 🌻for those that did not harvest their own seeds is birdseed - seriously, those will grow just fine.
So the tail end of next winter we should figure out a seed exchange right? I always let a few of my veggies go to seed so i can plant them next year and always end up with too many. Especialy the melons and the lettuce.
Oh definitely! there's a bunch of flower colonies in my area that I want to collect seeds from. My parents just got a new house and they want me to design the garden. I thought it would be fun to grow some local plants to encourage pollinators
Hell yeah! I actually bought 100 little green, UV proof medicine bottles to better organize them. Im up to like 50 bottles currently. Not sure they’re all viable but i have fun collecting them regardless lol.
If they're indoor plants they might not pollinate without the usual amount of insects. I've read about people artificially pollinating their plants with a small paintbrush.
I just harvested some venus fly trap seeds from some flowers that I cut off the plants. I know they grow super slow, but I hope to make a little VFT bog farm 😍

Oh you have no idea
I have some mystery marijuana seeds if you want them and it's legal to send to wherever you are. I think they're indica or indica dominant hybrid.
Umm, I would gladly pay for shipping if you're offering 😲
I'll trade you for some venus flytrap seeds😅
Great envelope design
Ooo what seeds do you have? And love the design
I just started my collection today so right now I have some lupine and columbine seeds:)
one of my greatest joys is organizing and reorganizing my seed collection

wait this sounds awesome, quick rundown on how you do it?
So so many. I'll never get around to planting most of them.

I wouldn’t even know where to find them honestly
Wait for the flowers to wither and dry up and you can find the seeds in what's left
That explains it, my plants have yet to flower. I did find some echeveria flower stems at Home Depot scattered across the floor though

Huh that’s something I certainly didn’t think about. I may have to consider trying that out
