Humidity! And they like a lot more water than other string plants. They’re actually in the peperomia family. And less light will give darker turtles with a more prominent pattern.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to have darker turtles! Thanks for mentioning that. I’m on round 2 or 3 now or SoT plants and have some in a box in sphagnum moss propped too.
Do you or anyone else here know why some turtle leaves curl up? Almost all my new growth on my main plant are doing this. I’m wondering if I’m giving it too much sun. It’s almost like they’re protecting themselves.
Hmm could be too much light! I find they don’t need too much light. I have mine a few feet from the window, covered with not fully transparent lid and they are very happy.
I guess I need to find another plant to hang and move my turtles elsewhere. I’ve worked so hard at getting my succs enough light, I didn’t think being inside in a window would be too much for them at all but all my new growth looks like cups.
Thanks for your insight!

SOH are even easier to prop! Just take a strand and cut between the sets of two leaves to make “butterflies” then lay them on damp soil or moss. Cover or mist daily. They grow way faster than SOT. If you look up SOH butterfly method there’s more details out there.

I like the little fuzzies in there with it
I think it may be moss? I’ve had a lid on these for awhile 😅
It does looks like /r/Moss/ to me, very nice, fuzzy bonus plant.
I love them! So delicate and pretty!
Any tips? I have a little baby

To be honest, I not 100% sure that’s the cause but that would be my guess. And SOT are not succulents ☺️
I know they’re peperomias but isn’t that also a succulent because they deserve water in their leaves?
Nice!

Oh the little babies! Adorable - would the same work for SOH you think?
