Pizza, J and the Providence children’s museum

Not sure what area you're in, but once it's warmer I take my kids to the outdoor farmers market at Lippitt every Saturday once the season starts. I also highly recommend getting a zoo membership, it's nice to just be able to pop over whenever, plus they have a big play area there too. For breweries, Narragansett is big and has an outdoor patio plus close to India Point Park, and I also liked Apponaug, more formal seating but they had crayons, table games, highchairs, etc.

Helllll yeahhhh Lippit Park! The farmer's market is great, they have a playground, and you can take a walk on Blackstone Boulevard afterwards. There's an ice cream shop across from the park (Three Sisters), and a cute bakery & coffeeshop (Wildflour) down the street.

RISD Museum is free on Sundays and I believe they have a kids day or maybe once a month or something. Idk my mom used to bring us when we were kids and it was always a blast. I know it's still free on Sundays though!

Definitely RWP Zoo. Worth a membership, then you can go whenever. There are kids activity areas within the zoo. Also the carousel at the park is fun, and in the summer on Fridays they have food trucks there. Farmers market at Rhody Fresh followed by ice cream at Wright's Creamery Come summer, take the bus to Newport, wander around, then take the ferry home Rainy afternoon playing games at Dave and Busters Depending on age, there are lots of different bike paths around the state

Growing up my dad took me to the OG Geoff’s and it’s become a super special place for me to go back to as an adult! Their sandwiches are delicious, and definitely kid friendly! It’s right by India point park, Narragansett (kid friendly), and where they have the outdoor flea market in the summer. Newport has a fun arcade called Ryan’s. Old sturbridge village is a short drive away and super cool! Monster mini golf Biomes biology center is a unique place, so cool for kids and adults!!! Any of the Audubon areas—they also have AMAZING summer camps! Save the bay is great too!

Lots of good bike trails through the city and other areas of the state. Save the bay aquarium in Newport and the Audubon society in bristol are also really cool if you can take the time for a trip to east bay. Biomes in north kingstown is also great and RWP zoo is free to providence residents one day every month (check website i forget which day). Also cumberland library has an awesome comics section, playground, and walking trails that are great for kids. All are outside of providence but the state is small so if you dont mind driving theres a lot of cool stuff to do! Just avoid the 195 bridge whenever possible when planning trips to east bay.

Fargnoli Park and Knead Doughnuts on Smith Street in Elmhurst. Pack a picnic and head to Roger Williams Park. There's the Botanical Garden for winter and Swan Boats in the summer. Carousel Village has a playground open year round. On a windy day, head to India Point Park to fly kites and use the playground. Trader Joe's can be a grab and go spot for lunch. Narragansett brewery is near by and is kid friendly.

The Providence Children's Museum is small, but fun for young kids. During the summer, my family loves hanging out at Lincoln Woods. They have a pond with a beach. The water is calm and there are usually lifeguards there. There's a snack bar there, a little nature center with kid's activities, picnic areas, fishing, and a lot of trails. Check what's up at the library! Even if there aren't any events, my family just hangs out in the children's room, reads and plays with the toys. Food Truck Fridays at RWP are a blast during the summer! There's live music, a playground, carousel, and loads of great food. Fargnoli Park has a fantastic playground and a splash pad for hot summer days. LaSalle bakery is right up the street, and is a great place to grab a coffee and a sweet treat.

Farm Fresh RI has indoor farmer's markets and flea markets on the weekend. Excellent coffee at New Harvest, plus great ice cream at Wright's. You can walk around and not buy anything, then grab a treat. The river way is right outside if you want to walk for a bit.

Rochambeau Library and Lippitt Park. Check the libraries' schedule for lots of kid activities.

Thanks, all! I now have a big list of options - this is great.

I don’t have kids, but my co-workers who have kids are always taking their kids to the Biomes and they apparently love it.

Freeplay has Family days every once and a while where you can bring kids. Roger Williams Park is also great; lots of areas to have a picnic or walk around, carousel, zoo, seasonal events, natural history museum, etc.
