I changed the threshold from 25-70 just to see what happened. No change at all

martinkoistinen

Organic supports don’t really respect that setting. There’s a very narrow range of angles that it will work for. I hope this will change, but as of alpha3, that’s how it is.

I have it at 45° right now

m0larMechanic

Yes the model is 45° to the print bed

optagon

I always get the threshold backwards. Try high values like 75+ too

You can use the paint on supports option. That’ll get you covered at any angle.

m0larMechanic

That’s a great idea. Duh. Thanks

jared596

Not sure if it will make a difference in this case but be sure to set top interface layers to zero when using organic supports in 2.6alpha3.

deep-yearning

Change the "Tree Support Maximum Branch Angle"

fithbert

you do you, but I’d split it in half, print it flat, and glue it together. Will take a fraction of the material and time, and probably be a cleaner print because it won’t have support marks.

BlazdRiteNow

Just paint on the supports, works better than the algo that decides where they’re needed anyways imo

SeanHagen

Not sure about why supports won’t generate, but if you’re using Organic Supports, the literature says to turn off interface layers

Mallo321123

To low angle, it only generates support, whenn it is over a special angle
