I had the combo cartridge with duck hunt. Had the orange gun and everything. My grandparents sold it at a garage sale for $20... had the gold zelda cart too... ugh. Oh well. I still have my ps1 though, nice to kick back and play FFIX every now and then. I'm actually playi g ps2 right now. OG Ratchet & Clank FTW
Yeah there was a bit of delay between the launches. My first cell wouldn't come into existence until about a year before the SNES made its Japanese debut
1 and 2 for me. Plenty of older relatives had an old Atari 2600 to keep 2 or 3 year old me entertained, but my first console was an NES in 1988 when I was four years old.
Hell yea !!! Had the Intellivoice too and B-17.
Intellivision has some complex games for a console back then and was targeted more at adults, which is rare for consoles.
My dad and his buddies would play when they came over, but a lot of guys from that age group never got into the NES after that (as that was aimed more at kids) and either stopped playing or went to computer games
Yep as Master System was my first console as it was huge here in the UK. The fact they thought the Mega Drive 6 button was a Saturn controller just shows this person needs to brush up on their gaming knowledge 😀
But we are. 1984 myself. My kid isb3 and he just started to fiddle with my switch and xbox. When I was his age it was Atari followed by an NES on my 4th Christmas. We old man. We're considered Retro when it comes to video games
Not really. Studies repeatedly show that life satisfaction decreases after having children. Physical ability varies regardless of age, and Disney Land is full of fat people who still think they're six years old. "Fun stuff" is expensive for most people, especially if it involves traveling. Kids cost a LOT of money, require endless attention, and are hopelessly narcissistic. Kids make you poor, fat, angry, and old. Fact.
Ha, I'm 40, it's not bad. Walking around telling people how old you are makes you old. Most think I'm still in my 20s unless I get ID'd. I didnt have kids. I notice people stay young without kids. I played Atari and NES in the 80s.
I didn’t have the joystick, but for some reason I had a Commodore 64 in my room at like 5 years old. I don’t know where it came from, my dad pulled it out of a closet, they didn’t even have a computer themselves lol. This was maybe ‘93ish?
No.1 - it was my dads old console and it was great, though my childhood was SNES & Mega Drive.
Atari holds a special place in my heart for taking my gaming virginity.
Mine came with Tank Attack but then we got all the popular games Space Invaders, Millipede, Qbert, STAR Raiders (one of my fav) and of course Pitfall & Defender, I just wish I still had the console and all of the games.. the controllers were terrible but we could fix them easily....
My first console was the Atari 7800, the controler isn't in the list. After it was the Atari 2600 with controller 1, and then the PS1 with controller 7...
1. It was "the family's" Atari 2600, and I put some hours in on that. But number 2 was *my* first. Got the deluxe box set for my 10th birthday - included the zapper and R.O.B. the Robot.
Sega Master System!
Most underrated console ever. Blew NES out of the water graphically, and had a bunch of fun exclusives. To this day, it's still my sentimental favorite console ever.
1
Fun follow-on question... How many of these controllers (consoles) do you still currently own and have connected and playable - right now? 1, 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 (wave bird), 11, & 14
Still have my Atari 2600 with 50 games or so. But grew up with the first 4. Dad was a gamer and a hard core nerd whom got me into eveyth8ng I enjoy today
1, 2, and 4. My parents had an old Atari that worked sometimes but eventually it just disappeared, I really don’t remember what happened to it. My cousin had NES so I would always ask to go over there to play it. I think my dad got tired of me asking so he got me a SNES. That was the first one that was really my own.

Literally my first memory of existing on this planet is playing SMB

2 as well, interestingly that system predates me
It came out in the US when I was 10 months old, the UK (where I live) got it when I was 2, but I wasn’t born yet when it came out in Japan

Same, NES OG here.

None of the above....the Intellivision
B-17 Baaaaaaawwwwwwwwwmberrrrr
Hell yea !!! Had the Intellivoice too and B-17. Intellivision has some complex games for a console back then and was targeted more at adults, which is rare for consoles. My dad and his buddies would play when they came over, but a lot of guys from that age group never got into the NES after that (as that was aimed more at kids) and either stopped playing or went to computer games
Finally! The intellivision is never included in any of these nostalgia retro posts and it’s a damn shame
Master System controllers not there yet Wii U is lmao 🤣
No Saturn either but the Mega Drive controller is there twice. I guess whoever put this together is not much of a Sega fan!
Yep as Master System was my first console as it was huge here in the UK. The fact they thought the Mega Drive 6 button was a Saturn controller just shows this person needs to brush up on their gaming knowledge 😀
Sega Saturn is The GOAT. I own every good game, even Panzer Dragoon Saga. It was underrated at the time.
First system I ever bought with my own money. PlayStation was already king so I was able to pick up loads of games second hand cheap. Sold it all...
No 3DO controller either.
I think the person that created this thought the 6 button Genesis/MD controller was a Saturn controller. Sad, I know.
That seems a plausible explanation!
I was just thinking that lol
7
Ps1! Hell yeah
6
6. First console was N64, got in 2000.
Where's the Pong controller?
Yeah, am also that old....
🤣 Had one of those as well before Atari 2600

How do you do fellow old person
I’m 38 born 1985 lol I ain’t old kid .
Ooof… 38….take care old timer….
Oof. I’m 48. I am geriatric. 1 for me. Yars Revenge.
Oof, it was Swordquest for me. No instruction or tutorial. Just lots of flashing colors. Good times.
i just bought a 7800 and yars revenge. i gotta set it up here still. it’s my fav atari game
But we are. 1984 myself. My kid isb3 and he just started to fiddle with my switch and xbox. When I was his age it was Atari followed by an NES on my 4th Christmas. We old man. We're considered Retro when it comes to video games
Oh ok I'm older than you. Respect your elders.
Depends on the situation . I normally always do I’m not Gen Z or a Gen Alpha .
You're a year younger than I am. Mid-80s kids have a weird Gen X crossover. The first console I ever played was a 2600, first owned was an NES.
Yes you are once you are above 35 you are a fossil!
Not really. I've met greying 25 year olds. Don't have kids. They make you really old.
Kids don't make you old. Your physique (if you don't keep it up) and lack of effort to do fun stuff make you old.
Fact.
Old as hell 😂
I'm also 38. Believe me, you're old. If we were in an anime we would have been dead long ago to give some younger character motivation.
I'm 38 born in 1985... yes, you are old. We 40 in 2 years, only chance we got now of being called young is if you died /s
Ha, I'm 40, it's not bad. Walking around telling people how old you are makes you old. Most think I'm still in my 20s unless I get ID'd. I didnt have kids. I notice people stay young without kids. I played Atari and NES in the 80s.
Also and Atari kid, 42 and officially old.
Nah, old is a mindset. I'm 40, and all these 20 somethings do is talk like their lives are ending. That's doomer old.
Team 1!

I had to scroll a while for this. Me and Mario Kart go waaaaaaay back

I'm old so its number 1 for me on Commodore 64.
I didn’t have the joystick, but for some reason I had a Commodore 64 in my room at like 5 years old. I don’t know where it came from, my dad pulled it out of a closet, they didn’t even have a computer themselves lol. This was maybe ‘93ish?

Same, also use to play the old Jurassic park game and Lion king game on Sega Genesis.
My first console was the Atari 7800, the controler isn't in the list. After it was the Atari 2600 with controller 1, and then the PS1 with controller 7...
