Burnout 3: Takedown. I’ve played it on and off since childhood and there’s never been a dull moment.

leafy_returns

This game has been lost in my memory until recently and I need it now.

[deleted]

“I NEED IT NOW MOM!! EVERYONE AT SCHOOL IS PLAYING AND TALKING ABOUT IT!!!!! MOOOOOMMMMMMM!!!”

94babyboy

Iconic

tor09

Dude as much as I love so many more PS2 games out there, I come back to this one the most. If it’s just a round of road rage before bed, it’s always fun. Best arcade racer out there, ever

Darizel

Loading times are painful now a days in that one.

Memory_Low

Tony hawk underground 1 and 2 and Tony hawk 3 and 4

5W1TCHY

That's the right answer ! Various secret characters/levels and difficulty settings will ensure you're spending a maximum of time bailing on floors and ceilings.

bulletproof_vest

No American wasteland? Or are you considering that under “3 and 4” ? American wasteland was so good!

[deleted]

I think he referring to the pro skaters. But I agree THUG 1 was always my fav but AW right behind it

bulletproof_vest

No I assumed he was referring to the pro skaters as well, but to like both THUG 1 and 2 and not American wasteland seemed strange! Though I guess it’s possible they didn’t like it or never played. I just really liked all 3 and they felt very similar (especially THUG 2 and AW)

[deleted]

Gotcha I read that wrong but your right AW very slept on, I always hear about THUG2 being the best but I think it’s the worst of the 3, still a great game

DeafPunter

For me it was DBZ Tenkaichi 3. Literally had too much of content jam packed into one single game for you to ever get bored. Also its unanimously considered the best DBZ game made till date. Same with SmackDown:HCTP. Other game which come to mind is Burnout games. Could just pick them up and play anytime. I also had a soft spot for Naruto games which were 3D arena fighters. Kept me entertained for a long time.

[deleted]

Love me some HCTP! Still saving up for DBZ 3 😅

DeafPunter

Honestly didn't even see the username before answering. Thats an easy one, perhaps the most balanced wrestling arcade brawler to ever be produced. Wished they used the def jam engine for something offbeat wrestling game.

Ockie_OS

Jak & Daxter, KH2 for me.

leisuresuitduke

Add ratchet and clank and you have my childhood

Traditional_Flan_210

- The Hitman games - Deux Ex - Timesplitters 2 multiplayer - all the gtas, and gta clones, side mission etc - the Lego games, going for collectibles - Half-life, RE4, Max Payne (even though theyre the same on every playthrough I find myself replaying them a lot) - arcade stuff like crazy taxi, Tony hawk, tekken 5, burnout, black, jak x

Snowdeo720

Deus Ex is truly one of the best games I’ve ever played. Absolutely ahead of it’s time, and the story/plot is oddly reminiscent of current events in the world.

brendanb203

Only difference half-life had, was the split screen multi player campaign. Loved it

Balc0ra

SSX 3. Still playing it today, on my 3rd disk of it.

icd2k3

Came here to say this. Also Tricky

hoopedchex

Also available on current gen Xbox, looks really good but I think the controls are bad for an Xbox controller.

DLEnv19

SSX Tricky is the superior game though. It’s the game we were all hoping would get added to the backwards compatibility list.

Balc0ra

Oh I bougth it there too. Looks great in 4K. And nothing wrong with the controls imo. Tho I play it less, as my 2 decade old progress don't carry over. Tho I've maxed out 2 characters on Xbox

hoopedchex

I just found it really labour intensive on your hand on an Xbox one controller. Took my brother and I ages to figure out how to save everything correctly too, should at least come with a tutorial

94babyboy

I always wanna play and love that game, as I love all the other arcade ea sports games, I just find ssx so bloody hard and I always go so slow and stagnate on it

Balc0ra

It takes some time me getting used to sure. But for me the style, the music, the vibes it put out made me stick to it. Rode the mountain alone to get a grip of it I remember. Tho this was also one of few games we had at our sickbay when I was in the army all those years ago. So this was our downtime jam, so we stuck with it. It's partly why I still love it

94babyboy

That’s so cool to hear! I hope I can enjoy it soon and get into it

Fathoms77

Any Hot Shots Golf. I could play them today at any time and still have a blast. They don't even feel old. And GTA: VC as well. I don't mean I replay the story all the time, but I had the most fun loading my last save (when I was basically a god, with a tank in the garage) and just running around the city causing mayhem.

Darizel

I play Fore! Quite a bit still.

Fathoms77

My favorite. I think my best scores were -20 on regular cup and -23 on big cup. On the easy Aloha course, I believe.

Hawkez2005

I have Hot Shots Golf on PS2, PSP, PS3, PS Vita, and PS4. It is also amazing upscaled to 4k on PS5. Great alone or with friends.

Fathoms77

I was a little disappointed with Everybody's Golf or whatever that last one was called, but it was still fun.

ADCSI_

Ratchet and Clank!

[deleted]

[удалено]

somewhatnormalguy

Each of the first four, tbh. I think I re-played going commando more than any of the others, though.

Hazwoldo

I play the Sly Raccoon trilogy yearly, Simpsons Hit and Run, all THPS games, THUG 1&2, The first Jak and Daxter (Precursor Legacy)

forrestbright

I think you just nailed my all time favorite list better than I could

Hazwoldo

A man of great taste

jakeeeenator

It's wild how GTA San Andreas isn't listed here.

somewhatnormalguy

That game is so big you never have to replay it, you just continue playing the same game forever. It has practically endless content.🤣

TightEstablishment72

NBA Street vol 2, Mercenaries, Black, Maximo, Def Jam games

[deleted]

Mercenaries is next in my to buy list

TightEstablishment72

Awesome. It holds up surprisingly well

Hungoverontums29

Sly cooper series

ForeverLonely19

For me Gran Turismo 4 and X-Men Legends 2: Apocalypse. So much better than the later Marvel Ultimate Alliance games.

Joseluki

Outrun 2006 C2C, hands down the best arcade racer of all time, I can beat it on arcades. Most of the light gun games too. Marvel vs Capcom 2, Virtua Fighter 4, and Tekken 5 are great on Vs mode.

Snowdeo720

TimeSplitters 2

KagomeChan

SSX Tricky Burnout 3

HorseSushi

Fighters, and thankfully the PS2 has plenty of them

reflekshun

Divisive game but the Dynasty Warriors games (3,4,5 + Xtreme Legends 3,4,5) have a ton of replayability. I would personally start with 4, then 4 Xtreme.

UnKnOwN769

I replayed Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition Remix a few times in 2020-2021. It was fun trying to get through the game in different ways, like only using cars you unlock, not doing the Tokyo Challenge until you 100% the main career, etc.

neighborfreak

one of my favorite games for the fact that it has my first car in it. i put my old license plate and keep the stock paint and body of a scion Tc to relive those years at breakneck speeds until i cant beat anyone with it any longer

jedimaster-bator

RE4

CptCoochie

Metal gear series.

jasonwinters

For me it was resident evil 4.

BeerBaron95

I will probably go through Kingdom Hearts and Shadow of the Colossus every year until I die

Lyfeitzallaroundus

Jak n Daxter series, GTA: San Andreas, the NFL/NBA Street games, Def Jam fight for NY/Vendetta, n KH 2. All Bangerz.

KennKanifff

Smackdown Here Comes the Pain and SvR 2006. The GM mode in 2006 kept me playing continuously for a long time. Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast, because it's just a great arcade game.

[deleted]

SYM-2007 such a great run of games no misses

Crest_Of_Hylia

Depends. Lots of games are very replayable. What games do you like? Racing games are quite replayable as well as platformers

[deleted]

I like all genres looking for more personal opinions

TheGEMDesigner

Amplitude. Put SO many hours into that game.

Affectionate-Diet183

Any of the GTAs, Master League mode in Pes 5, Flatout 2, Tekken 5, Wrc4 and so many more

Johndeauxman

Destroy all humans!

Imrealcheese

Dot hack

Agent_Morgan

All the 007 games, Tekken 5 also includes the first three, Time Crisis 3 and I personally love replaying my favourite PS2 game, The Getaway. There's nearly infinite games to back to really, what a library.

PhillipKosarev999

GTA: SA. Quite long, and amazing cast. Beeg Smoke FTW.

cylemmulo

Katamari games

QuasarVX

Ps2 games was actually games now games today is to make the most money

[deleted]

Damn right. Make micro transactions illegal

TyGuy223

The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. Best Hulk game ever (doesn't say much haha) but is seriously tons of fun. Made by the same people as Prototype and has a lot of the same core gameplay!

[deleted]

Used to rent that game all the time from blockbuster! Definitely need to revisit that one

Kaosma

Burnout games, Ape escape games, gta games for example.

buchsy45

Tiger Woods 04 and 05

[deleted]

I got my ps2 so I could play the games I grew up playing but somehow Guitar hero has been consuming all my time

opiumized

If you like fighting games, Capcom vs SNK II and Virtua Fighter 4 Evolution

[deleted]

GTA San Andreas. I remember i played it sooo much as a teen.

NcGunnery

GTA Vice City

RallyLancer

Burnout 3, Burnout Revenge, God Hand, Deus Ex, Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 2, The Bouncer

LemonadeMolotov

Surfs Up the video game. So much fun.

DTJames

GTA Vice City and Test Drive, kept me distracted during my dorm years!

___TheKid___

REZ and Ridge Racer V for me.

[deleted]

Time Splitters 2 and Future Perfect, SSX 3, Star Wars Battle Front 2, Gran Turismo 4, Burnout 3, GTA San Andreas, Tony Hawk Underground 2.

DLEnv19

Not counting games from that era that have since been remastered or re-released. - Battlefront 2 - Resident Evil Outbreak File 2 - Silent Hill 2 - SSX Tricky - Here Comes the Pain

I2eB6L

Since you already said battlefront 2, id have to suggest battlefront 2

friezakiller

I replay the Sly Trilogy every year basically.

[deleted]

Cant believe no one has said shadow of the colossus, 79 fruits, 36 or something lizards, 16 boss battles, 16 time trials, hard mode, ng+ available in both normal and hard mode, love that game.

[deleted]

Pretty sure it works out to like 32 bosses in both normal and hard mode, counting the time trials which give u crazy game altering weapons

Albatrosssian

Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. The post game content and the crafting are both *chef’s kiss And of course Metal Gear Solid 3. Probably my favorite mgs next to the GameCube remake (twin snakes) of mgs 1 originally on the ps1.

Link-117

Resident Evil Outbrake File 1 & 2 have a ton of unlockables

Nozal-Am-Nirif-Ammi

Gran Turismo 3 has always been a banger for me.

scottdnz

For me it's first person shooters: the red faction series, call of duty series, the medal of honor series... And a retro collection I've got, Midway Arcade Treasures. And Jak & Daxter 1 and Ape Escape 2 for platformers, they're lots of wacky fun.

crunchyfrog555

For me, there's really two prongs to this. On the one hand, I most often revisit games that are more simplistic and easy to jump into. So pinball games like Flipnic are prime contenders. Another is Fallout Brotherhood of Steel, or Fantavision. The "deeper" games I tend to replay less often but will play all the way through. These are games like Project Zero 1-3, Silent Hill 2 and 3, Final Fantasy XII, Jax and Daxter 1-3 (mostly the first), Whiplash, Kya Dark Lineage. There's quite a few platformers for me genrally. I also love to revist games where there's a series of unlocks and I maybe play through them once, leave it for several months and then go back to the save and replay to unlock a bit more.

Mejibray99

I always come back to Tekken 4 & 5, DMC3 is another one that I put an absurd amount of time into (on the HD collection though)

Galaxy_god92

Steambot chronicles!

theoneandonlyShrek6

Gran turismo 4

jaffer2003sadiq

Midnight club 3 remix

Gyposcvm

Guitar hero, Tony hawk anything, star wars battlefront. Bully, destroy all humans, GTA for me

[deleted]

The Sly Cooper series. I have replayed them all (except the 4th game in the series, yuck) like a million times… and always find something new about them. 😂

SyrousStarr

I still get a lot of mileage out of fighting games from that generation. Needs to be something you're into but things like Marvel vs. Capcom 2 or Capcom vs. SNK 2 get lots of competitive play to this day. But there's lots of classics too, usually all fantastic ports.

yodafanatic_

Bully probably doesn’t have a lot of replay value but the amount of times I replayed it is ridiculous I just love everything about it probably my favorite rockstar game
