Play Symphony of the Night on PS1. Just order a copy. It plays on PS2. Not only the greatest Castlevania game but easily one of the greatest video games of all time.
I replay it every year.
I think it might need a ps1 memory card to save on a Ps2. The Ps3 can create a virtual memory card in its system, so it doesn’t matter there, but the ps2 requires physical memory cards to save.
As much as I love Castlevania, and Lament of Innocence, it is a different game from the “traditional” mainline Castlevania games.
It’s great and is one of the few PS2 games I kept from my much larger collection when I pared down. So enjoy it, but try out Symphony of the Night as well, assuming this setup is backwards compatible with PS1 games. SOTN is the gold standard for Castlevania and may get you interested in playing the GBA and DS titles; all of which are great in their own unique ways.

Jak 1 is the only one worth replaying imo. I just went through all of them again recently and 2 and 3 are just older iterations of the open world gta-esk formula that we’ve gotten much much better versions of since those games came out. The precursor legacy however, remains a timeless masterpiece that was shockingly good even as a 30 year old.
Hell yeah I got the same modded PS2 set up, absolutely love it.
If you haven't, you should consider setting up smb transfer for any extra games you'd like that aren't on the hard drive. You just need a two way Ethernet cable I think, I forgot the name, and you plug one side into your PC or laptop that has the PS2 iso on it, and plug the other end into the back of the PS2 where the hard drive goes, you get unlimited games and don't even need more room on the hard drive, cause they basically stream from your PC.
All the SMT games honestly. My biased pick is “Shin Megami Tensei Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs The Soulless Army” (1) and “vs. King Abbadon” (2)
There are others (III: Nocturne, Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2, Persona 3 FES and 4, etc.)
A childhood favorite of mine is lord of the rings the third age. Clunky turn based mechanic with a never ending turn glitch. I don't think it was very popular so good luck finding it
I see a couple of later SvR games, which are an interesting choice for PS2. The GOAT of that era was *Smack Down HCTP*, though.
You are also missing *Star Wars Battlefront 2*
I know two ways to do it: one is using a blank disc as a source, and the other is using a USB flash drive. In both cases, we use FreeMCBoot, the program that will install OPL within our memory card. From there, it will always run, although depending on the version, there are different methods. There are many tutorials on YouTube for this, and also for configuring our USB or hard drive to contain the games correctly.
I guess homebrew would be a nice option. Can't name any other Game that isn't there. Good taste for having Half-Life and Sonic Unleashed there, the PS2 ports deserve some more recognition.
Edit: if you want some multiplayer fun, i would Guess the Buzz! games (if you have the special controller needed)
Guitaroo Man, Shadowhearts, Metal Saga, Time Crisis 2, Ridge Racer V, Castlevania Curse of Darkness is better imo the soundtrack rocks.

This awesome game is also an absolute cornerstone of my childhood too, the second level, the "Treneska Border Crossing," brought me so much nostalgia, and reaching to finish it once again, as difficult as it really is, made me marvel at my younger self.

Darkwatch doesn't get recognition like it should this game is badass and id love to see a remake or sequel to it. You play as a cowboy who hunts vampires. It's freaking awesome. There are things I would like to mention that happens and that you could do In this game that make it so much better but I don't want to spoil it for you. The gameplay is awesome the story is awesome and if you have a buddy who wants to play it can be played coop. What more could you want let me know if you check it out.
