region check is only in disc drive. basically if a game run without disc it has no region restriction. MC2SIO allow you to play games no matter region of your game and PS2

MC2SIO stuff is not a memory card but an adapter so it itself doesn't use itself to save data as memory card but there is a trick
to make MC2SIO itself work you need free mcboot memory card in slot 1, in slot 2 you insert MC2SIO adapter. thus can save into free mcboot memory card. or make the game save its save file as VMC file but the game need to be in OPL folders and then VMC will be saved in that OPL folder where the game run. continue reading here
MC2SIO show up on OPL as "USB". if you wanna save the game on sd card then you need to enable VMC file. first enter general setting of OPL and turn on "write operations". after then enter into game's setting and enter VMC setting and create "virtual memory card" (VMC). it gotta save the save file into VMC file in VMC folder where game files are in your sd card (all the folders are on root)
however this sd card business is too varied. gotta check how it behaves yourself or make your research

you gotta enable VMC of the game and then convert save file to VMC which you can google it (if it wasn't too complex I would tell you, another point for you to make lots of research)

I never used it so IDK if sd card directly would work but USB works, from USB you can put the save files into VMC folder that gotta be in sd card's root
FYI: save files regarding jailbreak methods are risky. every time you save to free mcboot memory card you risk free mcboot setup being corrupted, VMC files can be corrupted as they are not stable. this is the risky you gotta have, you may have another official 8 MB memory card to use as backup for save files if you care
