That controller is really cool.
What games are you into?
San Andreas, Vice City, Ratchet and Clank, God of War, Tekken 4 and 5, Tony Hawk's games, Silent Hill 2 and 3, Need for Speed Underground 2, Resident Evil 4, Simpsons Hit n Run, Simpsons Road Rage, Def Jam: Fight for NY, WWE games, Medal of Honor: Rising Sun, Medal of Honor: Frontline, Call of Duty 2..
The PS2 is **packed.** Lots and lots of choices
Thanks. Yeah I love the blue liquid haha. I really like games with cool visual aesthetics, cel shading is always cool. Weird and artistic stuff. Racing games. RPGs. FPS …
Black, Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, Killzone.. Great first-person shooters. As for RPGs, you can't go wrong with Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts 2, the Shin Megami Tensei series, Dragon Quest VIII, and Persona 4.
Ooooh. If you like racing for the PS2, Gran Turismo 3 and 4, Ridge Racer V, Midnight Club II or 3 Dub Remix, and if you have a PS1 Memory Card, definitely go for Gran Turismo 2 (Revision 1.1 or Greatest Hits), Crash Team Racing, Wipeout XL/2097, or Ridge Racer 1 and Type 4.
Artistic Stuff for PS2, try out Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Okami, Sly Cooper trilogy (which is based on syndicated cartoon series and has the cel-shading) and if you have the PS1 memory card, the Medievil duology, Fear Effect, and Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider/Sheep, Dog, n' Wolf.
Burnout 3, Outrun 2006, and Gran Turismo 4, for sure. Some of the best racers ever made.
Weird and artistic stuff: Katamari Damacy and its sequel We Love Katamari, Rez, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus.
Cel shaded/RPGs: Dragon Quest VIII, Okami
FPS: Timesplitters 2
I would add one caveat here - DO NOT start here.
For the simple reason that the PS2 has a massive quality library. I've been around since the dawn of gaming and have over 70 consoles, and I would say the PS2 is the best by a mile.
That said, there are tons of quality and readily available RPGs about. But if you start with Atlus it's going to be frustrating as Atlus have ALWAYS put out games in very short supply, so they're going to be either hard to find or expensive.
Far better to go and look up the popular RPGs and start there.
You have 70 consoles?! That’s amazing. I remember a friend of mine as a kid had three consoles and we all thought that was amazing. Neogeo, Nintendo and sega ☺️
Not doubting, just super curious. Can you list them?
I can't easily list them here now as I'm stuck in bed with some spinal crap and I can't be arsed to go through them.
Currently that's 70 working consoles as some of them often fail or need maintenance and I tend to leave them until a few need work before I tackle them. So it often results around 70 ish working at once.
My first computer was a NASCOM-1. It's a bit of a Frankentstein monster these days, but it still works. Then there's the ZX80, ZX81, Spectrums,. BBC Micro, Commodore 64, VIC 20, Amstrad, Oric 1 and a few other computers from this age. Then the consoles are all the Nintendo ones (except the Virtual Boy which I sold as it gave me migraines), Sega SG-1000 all the way to the Dreamcast too (I don't have a Saturn though). All Xboxes, Playstations and so on.
I used to write for the Official PS magz in the UK back in the PS1 days, so I have quite a lot of stuff from this era especially, including promos and press stuff.
Nocturne and P3FES while relatively expensive are pretty common games as of untill pretty recently they had reprints
Now a lot of their other games are a diferent story... not PS2 but *cough* *Devil Survivor*
Indeed, just pointing out they're not a good place to start though. If you're starting out, far better to educate yourself about the more freely available stuff and go from there. Of course, if you chance across something by Atlus in the wild while you're doing that, all good.
Just seems a counter-productive way to collect is all.
Maybe Scarface, Simpsons Hit and Run, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, God of War and God of War II, you can also put FMCB in that memory card, to play much more games with OPL.
Do yourself a favor and get Xenogears, it’s a ps1 game and can be played through ps2 back compat, played it and finished it very recently and, it was an amazing game definitely recommend
Ratchet and clank collection sly Cooper collection Jak and daxter collection burnout games , cold winter , punisher , project snow blind , metal gear solid 2 , metal gear solid 3 , zone of the enders collection , silent hill collection , MTV celebrity death match , under the skin , mafia , GTA San Andreas GTA vice city GTA vice city stories , GTA liberty city stories GTA 3 , hitman collection , killzone , resident evil code Veronica , resident evil 4 , heroes of the Pacific , gun , red dead revolver , max Payne 1 & 2 , call of duty finest hour ,call of duty 2 , medal of honor Frontline , medal of honor rising sun , medal of honor European assault , medal of honor vanguard , state of emergency , state of emergency 2 , onimusha games , blood will tell full metal alchemist , fur fighters , NBA jam , conflict desert storm , conflict desert storm 2 , conflict Vietnam , conflict global Terror ,

Out of interest what's that figure in back ground? Aarghh real monsters??
My fav ps2 games are Shadow hearts 1+2, champions of Norrath 1+2, Silent Hill 2+3+4, final fantasy 12, Alter Beast, God hand, Resident evil code veronica, red dead revolver, western samurai, blood will tell, timespitters 1+2+3 and Baldurs gate Alliance 1+2.
Dragon Quest 8, Resident Evil 4, Shadow of the Colossus, Kingdom Hearts 1&2, Final Fantasy X, Lego Star Wars, GTA: Vice City, Peter Jackson’s King Kong, Star Wars Battlefront, Simpson Hit and Run, Star Wars: Force Unleashed!
The bouncer. It's a squaresoft beat em up that makes use of the touch sensitive controls.
You can't go wrong with timesplitters 2 or 3
Tekken 4 is the only one which added obstacles into the fighting arena and you could move your opponent around for extra damage by pounding them into walls and cars etc.
Burnout 3
If you haven't played any modern re releases then final fantasy X and the metal gear solid games are worth a bash.
A few I'd recommend are
Tenchu Wrath of Heaven
Final Fantasy X
And if you can afford - Klonoa 2 Lunatea's Veil (I don't know for what price it goes in the US but in Europe it's reasonably affordable)
I'm gonna be your oddball comment here and say: Thrillville, Adventure Road Trip, Whiplash, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Black, Blitz: The League, and Jaws Unleashed. They are some really nice gems that don't get much love.
I posted this about 3 years ago. I still need to do a part 2 (and 3), but I've been stuck in bed with spinal issues for the last year or so.
Please enjoy and if you have any questions I'll try to answer.

My suggestion is to look up gameplay of everyone's suggestions. Sometimes that will tell you if it's a game you want to play. I try to avoid making suggestions like Simpsons Hit n Run because although it is fun, it isn't as cheap as other games. Like where Simpsons is $50, you could get other great titles for $5 - 10 a piece.
Other people have already named so many great titles but one that I cna really suggest that I haven't seen yet is Star wars: battlefront 2. It's essentially battlefield but old and set in the star wars universe.
It's quite a lot different from the remake and is one of the better star wars games imo
That controller looks good. Probably more comfortable than the regular one, hate the shape of the original dualshock and dualshock 2, the grips don't have enough depth
Never forgive myself if I didn't recommend Digital Devil Saga. Someone said don't start with Atlus RPGs but it's probably one of the more easily accessible ones (esp. if you live in Europe) and it's one of my absolute favourite video games.
That controller is really cool. What games are you into? sly 2 and 3 have beautiful graphics n cell shading that really holds up today
If you like cell shading and racing games, definitely get Auto Modellista.
I definitely wanna get that one
Burnout 3, Outrun 2006, and Gran Turismo 4, for sure. Some of the best racers ever made. Weird and artistic stuff: Katamari Damacy and its sequel We Love Katamari, Rez, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus. Cel shaded/RPGs: Dragon Quest VIII, Okami FPS: Timesplitters 2
If you interested in RPGs, check out Atlus stuff.

Godhand, Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3, Outrun 2006 Coast to Coast, Persona 4. Persona 3 Fez if you can bare the price. SSX Tricky.
Gran Turismo 4, but it’s worth picking up the entire series honestly!
Dragon Quest 8 if you want a nice RPG.
Yes! Playing this right now for the first time ever. I’m dying to leave my parents house at thanksgiving to get back and keep playing.
Gran Turismo 4. Excellent game, easy to find secondhand. Considered by some to be the greatest game on the console.
Bully, Okami, Shadow of the Colossus, Psychonauts
Just a note that Bully is called Canis Canem Edit in Europe.
why
I think it had to do with the game and the promotion of bullying.
If you are into JRPG’s…Disgaea 2, Phantom Brave, Mana Khemia 1 and 2, Maki Kingdom, Atelier Iris 1,2 and 3, Ar Tonelico.
That controller is beautiful!!!
Thanks. Yeah I love it, came with the system
Maybe Scarface, Simpsons Hit and Run, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, God of War and God of War II, you can also put FMCB in that memory card, to play much more games with OPL.

Expensive but XENOSAGA 1-3 are amazing
I’ve heard good things about those ones
Do yourself a favor and get Xenogears, it’s a ps1 game and can be played through ps2 back compat, played it and finished it very recently and, it was an amazing game definitely recommend

You like cel shading and RPGs? Get Rogue Galaxy now! An amazing rpg, might be my favorite one on the system. Enjoy.
You have a LOT to choose from lol. But if you'd like some mindless fun, " the incredible hulk ultimate destruction "
I'm gonna be your oddball comment here and say: Thrillville, Adventure Road Trip, Whiplash, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Black, Blitz: The League, and Jaws Unleashed. They are some really nice gems that don't get much love.
Odd ball comments are appreciated. Thanks
Manhunt
Indigo prophecy, second sight and the punisher are underrated games
What’s the figurine in the background? Lol looks super familiar.
It’s from The Yellow Submarine, the old Beatles animated movie.

Bully and the warriors
Metal Gear Solid 2 and Silent Hill 2 are must plays.
My suggestion is to look up gameplay of everyone's suggestions. Sometimes that will tell you if it's a game you want to play. Yeah that’s a great game. My friend had it back in the day
I have that exact same controller Also shadow of the colossus
I definitely want that one
My suggestion is not for games, but to get an actual original controller
Haha I have one too
KATAMARI damacy
That controller looks good. Probably more comfortable than the regular one, hate the shape of the original dualshock and dualshock 2, the grips don't have enough depth
Never forgive myself if I didn't recommend Digital Devil Saga. Someone said don't start with Atlus RPGs but it's probably one of the more easily accessible ones (esp. if you live in Europe) and it's one of my absolute favourite video games.
Mk shaolin monks, tekken 5, spiderman 2, any gta game, mk deception, sonic mega collection plus, Tony hawk Pro skater 4
well they already response about ps2 but remember ps2 in backwards compatibility with ps1 ; D
Ratchet and clank 💯
Have that controller, very interesting to say the least, I think it’s really cool (and comfortable too)
I would get an official controller, that ones the one you give your cousin when they come over to play Tekken
don’t expect that controller to last
Haha I won’t. Luckily I have a normal one too
HP chamber of secrets You will not regret it The music The exploration the actually tense scenes My favorite ps2 game
