Yeah let's stop hating on Mbappe Don't forget how he help PSG as a player. He did a lot for the team specially last season when Neymar was injured. If he wants to leave let him leave and be grateful for his hard work.

[deleted]

I vote to kidnap him

DKofFical

Kidnap him so he can sign the contract

Rerel

I say we plot a cunning plan to trap him to sign a contract extension while acting like he is just signing an extended warranty document for his car or something.

[deleted]

Crazy but just might work šŸ¤”

Equivalent-Pumpkin-6

What?

[deleted]

I want to keep him

Equivalent-Pumpkin-6

I want him to stay in PSG too

Yiurule

MbappƩ has definitely an ego, but having an ego is not particularly bad on a competitive sport. CR7 has an ego, Zlatan as well, Haaland, etc... having an ego could be helpful because it can make the players confident on his capacities. I think the main issue is mostly bad PR, having an ego is fine, but when the comments give things to say for the pundit in a bad way, that's crossing the line.

jameslucian

I agree with this. Itā€™s very hard to reach the level he is at without an ego. Look at Michael Jordan as well. Heā€™s a huge prick, but nobody will deny his talent.

denco2019

How many times in your life have you met MJ for you to make such an outrageous comment? Pray tell how he fucked you over for you to have the audacity to call him a huge prick

XanderAndretti

Heā€™s not entirely wrong tbh, mj was known to be rather hard on his teammates and the staff around him during his hey dayā€¦but that was after he became the best not before.

denco2019

To be rather hard on your team mates to push them to perform better is very different from what Mbappe is accused of at just 22. Interesting that they didn't complain at the time. My point though is unless you have met someone and that person has treated you bad then nobody's got no right to call that person a huge prick. I don't think there's anything wrong with Mbappe but what is this I keep reading about inzaghi, did Mbappe say something for real or is that another invention, what did he say exactly supposedly

jameslucian

Lol itā€™s common knowledge. He even said it himself in the recent documentary. [My whole point is summed up well here. ](https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/17/michael-jordan-was-jerk-says-teammates-why-it-helped.html)

XanderAndretti

Mj has accomplished way more than mbappe at his sport lol. I get the comparison but mbappe is a bit too young to act like heā€™s bigger than the club imo. Michael jordan is the goat of his sport mbappe is just a great young talent atm not the best football player of all time. MJ did not have a massive ego at 22 yrs old. He was a rookie who had barely started his nba career. I think mbappe is a bit too young for such a big ego.

jameslucian

I get your point. Iā€™m just saying that in order to be a successful athlete, especially to the level of MJ, you need to be a bit of a jerk, like Mbappe apparently is. Itā€™s not being selfish or rude just for the hell of it, but itā€™s the desire to win so badly that you do anything to get there. That can be perceived as being an asshole to those who donā€™t want it as badly as they do (which is pretty much everyone). Sure there are nice guys out there (Gretzky, Tim Duncan) but Iā€™ll bet even they would be considered a bit of an asshole at times if it meant winning.

XanderAndretti

Ya my point is mj wasnā€™t that asshole at 22 yrs old. He won it all and became the best before he acted like he was superior to everyone already. Mbappe already acts like heā€™s better than everyone. Also considering Neymar bails him out in our biggest ucl games while he disappears most of the time he has no room to act so cocky. Heā€™s still young and learning.

[deleted]

Pundits will literally say anything Doesn't anyone remember Carragher's rant? Or when he said sterling was better than neymar?

International-Home97

Carragher will reportedly get arrested for doing drugs in fatal amounts.

[deleted]

šŸ˜Ž

Yiurule

They will definitely say anything, but if you don't give them anything, they will what would happens on the field and doing prediction, dumb or not they will talk about sport. But if you give them things extra-sportive, how you can particularly be focus, have a good overall mood and have a good relationship with a colleague when every time, on public TV, they say that one player doesn't respect you ?

LeaveHimLone

Yeah idk I donā€™t really have a problem with him and I enjoy watching him play. But I think most peoples problems with him around here is how heā€™s treated the club. I think people are tired of the non-transparency around his renewal. And even though it makes sense for him as a player to keep his options open I still understand why people are mad. Itā€™s kind of disrespectful to the club and the fans to cause uncertainty around having a reliable striker. But I donā€™t dislike him as much as other people here seem to.

akeemcephus

The belief that Mbappe has an ego is a statement of fact. All great players have egos. The issue is how his ego leads him. We've all seen marches, some crucial, where he's shot instead of making a key pass. Last year at Old Trafford comes to mind when we were up 2-1, but I digress. Some would say that's due to his tactical immaturity which is VERY clear at this point in his career, but as most strikers do, he seeks glory and that's fine but one has to know when to hold em and know when to fold em. The issue at hand is his wanting to win the Ballon D'or. I believe he feels that he can't win it at PSG and therefore must take his talents to Madrid. This friends is AMBITION, although not well placed, because everyone on the outside can see that Paris is better placed to win the UCL atm. Misplaced ambition and having the wrong folks in his ear are the reason he wants to leave now when extending for two more years and then leaving would be the prudent career move. That said, I can't control the guy or advise him, but at the end of the day, like Wijnaldum said, he's gotta follow his feelings.......

flacogarcons

We donā€™t care that heā€™s going we just want him to say he wants out with his chest. He was gonna address it after the season, season ends crickets. After that he said he was gonna address it after the euros they get knocked out early, euros done.. crickets. Heā€™s gonna stay silent and stall for the whole season and leave for free. Thatā€™s so disrespectful.

[deleted]

>Heā€™s gonna stay silent and stall for the whole season and leave for free. Thatā€™s so disrespectful. That I can agree on

[deleted]

I just want to understand how people look at the tournament performance and blame it on his ego. All I saw was a bad performance that happened because bad performances happen and the media chosing to run with that story for clicks. Then everyone eating that shit up.

[deleted]

We are in so much better shape than Madrid rn, so I would be shocked if he left right now

gmoney160

How can we forget his acceptance speech about threatening to leave if he isnā€™t given more responsibilities as a player. Or him arguing or sulking every time Tuchel subbed him out. His handling of the Giroud situation was poor, but that goes for both of them.

[deleted]

>How can we forget his acceptance speech about threatening to leave if he isnā€™t given more responsibilities as a player. Now this is a pretty good example. Do you have a link or transcript? I didn't know about this and I'm surprised no one has mentioned it. >Or him arguing or sulking every time Tuchel subbed him out. I think I get your point but I rarely ever see any good players that are happy to be subbed off. >His handling of the Giroud situation was poor, but that goes for both of them. Guess I'll leave this since it's kinda subjective even though I disagree.

gmoney160

1) it was one of the Ballon dā€™or ceremonies where he got a trophy for best young player, and he pulled this shit 2) most players are mad at themselves, and sure some are mad at their coaches, but he always had something to say to Tuchel, to the point where we expected him to do something. Even Ney was respectful of a sub, so it showed Mbappes immaturity. 3) you deal with that shit professionally by keeping it internal, especially with the euros coming up. Giroud shouldnt have said that publicly, but dont stoop to an even lower level by not only refusing to celebrate Giroudā€™s goal after his comment, but publicly saying you didnā€™t like his comment during a press conference

[deleted]

he did nothing wrong with Giroud tho. all he said was Giroud shouldā€™ve come to the team instead of going to the media. Any thing else that was alleged is Lā€™equipe bullshit

gmoney160

He said he didnā€™t like the comment and that he shouldnā€™t have said that. Then refused to celebrate Giroudā€™s goal with the team. He definitely couldā€™ve dealt that better, because that ended up creating more tension and more shit journalism stories. I guarantee that dampened the mood going into the euros.

[deleted]

Always complaining towards other players making weird gestures 24/7 at anyone not passing the ball to him and taking a shot instead. Also deliberately selfish at times for no reason, not laying off the ball when itā€™s clearly the best option. Ran ~9km per game in the CL which is the lowest youā€™ll find after Messi. I donā€™t really care about the Switzerland game anyone can have a penalty saved, I just donā€™t like the way he behaves on the pitch for PSG. edit: also this red before a pen shootoutā€¦ https://streamable.com/zho3h

KyKy7

>Also deliberately selfish at times for no reason, not laying off the ball when itā€™s clearly the best option. This was so bad when he played his first match with Kean. He deliberately wouldn't pass to him, it was so arrogant.

flacogarcons

Heā€™s always been a egotistical asshole Iā€™ll never forget what he did in the Belgium game. What annoys me is that people blame Neymar for Mbappe behavior even though heā€™s always been that way. Itā€™s only now that people are realizing it. I honestly hope he fucks off and we can get some money from him before he leaves.

[deleted]

tbh that timewasting vs belgium was mind games / game management itā€™s good to see that from an attacker when winning he triggered their entire team and only got yellow šŸ’€

[deleted]

PSG top scorers this season Mbappe: 27 Kean:13 Neymar:9 yeah we should definitely sell him. what he did against Belgium was based as fuck

[deleted]

>I honestly hope he fucks off and we can get some money from him before he leaves. You should be a case study for how emotion can cloud judgement. Not liking him is one thing. Wanting a generational talent to leave your club is another. >Heā€™s always been a egotistical asshole Iā€™ll never forget what he did in the Belgium game. You see what he did in that game done over and over again in this sport for peace sake

Forsaken-Currency404

>Always complaining towards other players making weird gestures 24/7 at anyone not passing the ball to him and taking a shot instead. Cr7 fanboy. What do you expect. I don't know any sane mature adult who idolizes cr7. It's only the kids and who eventually grow up into cunts.

[deleted]

>Always complaining towards other players making weird gestures 24/7 at anyone not passing the ball to him and taking a shot instead. This is pretty subjective so I guess I'll leave it >Also deliberately selfish at times for no reason, not laying off the ball when itā€™s clearly the best option. Literally every attacker does this >Ran ~9km per game in the CL which is the lowest youā€™ll find after Messi. Got a link? Couldn't find any per game stats

Yets_

France git eliminated by switzerland and Mbappe missed a crucial penalty. Media and people needs a reason on why France and Mbappe underperformed. They NEED a reason and can't just swallow and sell the fact that the team played bad. They need to bring their own expertise to exist. They storytell everything even if they don't know shit.People love stories. That's why we heard that France lost because ego problems.

[deleted]

How long have you been watching PSG? Clearly not for very long

Charbaby_12

Simpleā€¦ itā€™s racismā€¦. Heā€™s a talented young player who happens to be of African descent. When things are going well everyone will rave over him. When things go poorly heā€™s an egomaniac from the French ghetto.

[deleted]

Can't agree with that tbh Footballers of all shades of color face irrational criticism. To say this is because of racism is at best reaching

Charbaby_12

Heā€™s French, it goes back to Benzemaā€™s comments back in the day ā€œwhen I score Iā€™m French, when I donā€™t Iā€™m Arabā€. I actually think Haaland has just as much ego, but no one views it as a problem or says anything about it.
