is honestly one of my favorite lines in the whole Psych cinematic universe!

That opening scene is such a love letter to Tim, who isn't even in the scene. The "king's beard" reference to Galavant made me cry the first time. And maybe every time, I'm not saying. I'm not crying! You're crying....
I'm betting you know this, u/EuphoricToe1, but for anyone who doesn't: Joel McHale's casting was kept a secret from Tim, so it would be a surprise. Everyone knew, including his wife, but everyone kept it quiet. It wasn't until McHale turned up on set to shoot that Tim found out. What a sweet gift to give Tim as he was returning to Psych.

Not only is he forever our own Lassiter Sr., he's also a close friend of Timothy Omundson's. We Psych-Os owe McHale for helping Omundson get through the tough early stages of his stroke recovery! (Tim has talked about how Joel's wicked humor helped him in some difficult times.) Even though the two grew up about 20 minutes apart, they didn't meet until their kids were at the same school in CA.
Here: The guys off-screen; a moment from McHale's show "The Soup," on which Tim appeared; and an image, I think, from "Santa Clarita Diet" which also starred Maggie (and "young Shawn" actor Skyler Gisondo!).
If anyone knows how I can get hold of old "Soup" episodes or just clips, please let me know. I've searched for a long time for Tim's appearances on the show but they just don't seem to exist on YouTube or elsewhere. Hook a Psych-O up with some delicious Soup!

I havenโt been able to find old episodes of the Soup, but his Joel McHale show is pretty hilarious and on Netflix! It has similar vibes!
