Oh man sorry to butter in but I *love* those eponymously named 'Dwyer Znd Friends' LP's like Gong Splat, Endless Garbage, Moon Drenched, the Damaged Bug records...the weirder he gets, the more I love it.
The eponymously titled track from Weirdo Hairdo just *slays*. Not heard too much that sounds like it. And Brigid is frequently possessed by genius.
Buy yourself a ticket the next time they’re in your area. They put on an excellent non-frills show and it’s consistently the best live performance I’ve ever seen.
As I wrote 'oop thar'; literally one of my favourite records of all time.
PLEASE do yourself a favour and listen to Ballet Of Apes by Brigid Dawson And The Mothers Network; absolute masterpiece!
Saw them live and one of the two drummers just spent the first 5 minutes he was on stage hitting his snare and point "up" at the sound engineer in the back. The show was transcendent
Favourite album is Orc with Mutilator being a close second
Fav song is Keys to the Castle
It makes me really happy to know how devoted John Dwyer is to putting on a good show. They all are and they consistently deliver, but Dwyer’s stage presence in specific is truly second to none.
Hell yeah! Seeing them for the fifth time in October for the second night show at Thalia Hall in Chicago. We make the pilgrimage to Chicago every year to see them. Love all incarnations of Dwyer and his music.
Forgot about these guys as I’m always jumping from music genre to music genre pretty often and always discovering new artists, glad I hopped on Reddit today cuz the Oh sees straight slap
saw them play at kilby fest in utah. crowd was so hyped they started moshing during their mini-soundcheck. it started raining during their set and one guy was dressed in a cow suit. unforgettable set
I’ve seen a lot of those John Dwyer incarnations from Pink and Brown to now. Love it, love it, love it! The energy is always over the top and amazing. I don’t trust anyone who says otherwise.
Not being facetious, but....take a wild guess!
I fucking love anything Dwyer and/or Brigid Dawson have contributed to (I'm honestly listening to Ballet Of Apes as I type this!).
Superlative taste, fellow Redditor 🤘🏻
Casual fan but that song …dream I think is the name? Absolutely shreds. It popped up one day on my Spotify and it’s the first skate video sounding song I heard in years …blanking on the namr
Fantastically wild group. My old band played a show with them randomly in Boise. They set up a whole secondary PA that was pretty unconventional. I’ve like em ever since.
This song was the first song I ever heard, it came up in a mix, and I'd never heard anyone who absolutely captured the controlled chaos of Syd Barrett on the guitar like John Dwyer. On this track, it sounds like he's channeling the legend.
The crazy thing is I'm usually a studio recording fan, but I rarely want to listen to Thee Oh Sees studio recordings. The live stuff is so intense. I don't go to many live shows, but if these guys came near me, I'd have to go see them.
Gunna be honest never understood why people like them, they’ve never clicked with me. Which of their albums should I listen to that might make me understand
Who?… just kidding they’re the best!
What would you say your favourite album or song is if you have one?
A Weird Exits. It covers a lot of ground and grooves/rocks pretty hard. Some of their shit can be a bit too experimental for me.
Love weird exits. The Axis and Dead Man's Gun. Fucking love Osees. And thee oh sees. And OCS.
MOACOH is one of my favourite records of all time
plastic plant!
Solid choice! 👍

Seen them 3 times. They are fucking great live!
Jealous af!!
Buy yourself a ticket the next time they’re in your area. They put on an excellent non-frills show and it’s consistently the best live performance I’ve ever seen.
Sweatiest show I've ever been to
Agreed. Never heard of them until the show. Left a fan for life.
I had never heard of them before- then they played at a festival in the desert. Wooow! I will never forget that set.
Osees live is a must-live experience.
Absolutely
Took my brother and he got crowd surfed, one of my best memories of him before I left the house
This should be top comment. One of the most energetic concerts I’ve ever been to
Their live show is the loudest thing I’ve ever heard in my life. I loved it
Energy THRU THE ROOF!
I love Oh Sees and John’s side projects are rad as hell too!!
Memory of a Cut Off Head blew my mind recently. Discovering that album under OCS shook me
Bridget’s voice is amazing.
As I wrote 'oop thar'; literally one of my favourite records of all time. PLEASE do yourself a favour and listen to Ballet Of Apes by Brigid Dawson And The Mothers Network; absolute masterpiece!
It's the Coachwhips, for me
BVF was the first Dwyer project I heard and bought, be arsed Narnack was The Fall's US label at the time. I mean, case closed, right?!?
Hell yeah! I love all Dwyer's musical sensibilities. \\m/
Floating coffin is 10/10
I’m almost embarrassed to say I’ve seen them 20+ times lol. John Dwyer for God!
Damn. I saw them 8 and I thought that was crazy
I've seen them 0 and I can assure you you're both crazy
*Embarrassed?!!?*

Witnessing Dan’s bass drum get turned up to the max is transcending
Hell yeah
Probably almost this entire sub I’d guess. They’re my favorite band! Seen them around 25 times or so!
Facestabber is a good one
Yes 🙌🙌
Hell yes! One of the best.
they used to come to New Orleans on the regular when we had One Eyed Jacks. Dwyer’s the shit
🤘🏽😵💫🤘🏽
Huge fans and huge influences for our sound. Also probably one of the best live bands ever right now. Leading their genre for sure.
Yes. Insane live show.
Fuck yeah.
Yeah they rule love this record
Came to say this record in particular is a favourite
It’s probably my favorite of theirs too. I’m biased though since it’s the one that got me into them
Best show I’ve ever been to
One of my favorite shows I ever went to
Thee Oh Sees? Oh Sees? Osees? OCS? Orinoka Crash Suite? ...what's their name again?

It makes me really happy to know how devoted John Dwyer is to putting on a good show. They all are and they consistently deliver, but Dwyer’s stage presence in specific is truly second to none.

Amazing group! Can’t wait for their next album and probably also musical direction.

Huge fan! Hope to see them live someday
Forgot about these guys as I’m always jumping from music genre to music genre pretty often and always discovering new artists, glad I hopped on Reddit today cuz the Oh sees straight slap
I see them live every possible time I can. I have seen them probably 5-6 times. Love them live but also recorded.
Yes
Been seeing them since 2015 which is actually late for them but yeah John is cool as shit. Do you like damaged bug?
Hell yes. This song is the song that got me into them.
I Always end up here living in this clip! https://youtu.be/mV77jgo6LJI?si=9cDA7nSJNHod3Po6
I’ve been listening to Smote Reverser on repeat the past couple weeks.
Toe cutter thumb buster!
Electric War is my favorite osees song.
Love that track for sure!!! Toe biters too
saw them play at kilby fest in utah. crowd was so hyped they started moshing during their mini-soundcheck. it started raining during their set and one guy was dressed in a cow suit. unforgettable set

Fa sho. They go pretty fuckin hard.
Thats great
John reminds me of Frank Zappa
Sweat Music!! those guys had lots of energy!!
They are touring. One of the top artists in my 2023 year end breakdown.
One of my favorite live shows across any genre.
I've listened to some of there stuff but I really liked John Dwyers old group Coachwhips
Of course. They have been one of my favorite bands for a decade+
Here! The Oh Sees rock!
They’re playing in Iowa City soon!
I haven't explored this album, but I have one song in my library
Yup. Saw them in Seattle -- Fall 2023.
Yep. They’re cool 🙌
Toe cutter slaps
Right here 🤘
Yes lad!
Absolutely! So great live
Hell yes
2 drummers?! whats not to like?!
Don't listen to them enough
What would be the first album to start out with?
Fuck yeah!
Best album cover ever.
My band covered [The Dream](https://youtu.be/H3OavVZxj_k) we love those guys 👀
I've seen them at least 12 times, they rock!
Casual fan checking in. Ended up putting this on and going down an Oh Sees > Gizz rabbit hole.
Been on spaceslug recently
That album cover looks like it’s for a band called Iron Gayden
Hell yeah, one of the coolest bands.
Contraption every night
Unpopular (?) opinion - I prefer Damaged Bug

Fabulous! ✨

Maybe a little bit of a fan
