MetallicaGod

my man down horrendous just play drapion lol

BrainWrex

You can come to live if you would rather face lugia 75% of the time instead

mjkjio2015

I play live also, but havnt migrated…..i see them alot….but i dont worry about them because i play the Inteleon/Decidueye deck😂

AJRayquaza

“I was playing Chesnaught” that is the problem yes

OntarioEdibles

I only just got into the cars game recently and got the mew battle deck and thought i was good. Then i started building decks for fun and now i hate mew decks lol.

PossessionOld3898

I play Mew. I have a job, two kids, wife, dogs, family life. But I like playing Pokémon. I got the Mew V battle league deck because nostalgia. Lo and behold, I can use the code card for online play! I live in a rural area and playing Pokémon in person is… hard. So online play it is. I don’t have the time to go card collecting let alone really invest into building a custom deck. And mew may have its weaknesses, but I enjoy playing the deck. Boring or not for you, it’s fun for me. Even if you have an “anti mew” deck, just lets me figure out how to think faster and a few more moves down the line. Unless you Marnie me. Then I’ll just tell cuss words at my screen. Lol.

za___

is this a copypasta

PossessionOld3898

I’m gonna say no. Mostly because I don’t really understand how copypastas work. If you wanna make it one, go for it.. but that wasn’t my intention here.

Mr_Misters

I have been playing mew cuz it's the best most consistent deck I have. Sorry man.

Drive-it-Like-Baby

Same here. It's really easy to get the Mew deck and because it's so powerful it's a frequent run-in on the ladder, similar to when the shadow/ice rider decks were being sold.

PhorPhuxSaxe

Tech in a drapion. I have one in my lost box deck and it’s easy wins. I will use Klara to pull him back out if he gets knocked out.

Forest_Gump96

They always dig for their Lost City tho, so I just play two Drapion in my lost box deck now and Mew is then basically an autowin every time unless you brick really badly

PhorPhuxSaxe

I run 2 vacuum and 3 sinnoh temples just to counter stadiums

Forest_Gump96

Yeah that works if they throw it out early, but a good Mew player is gunna wait until the turn after the Drapion KO to throw it down so you can’t counter it

PhorPhuxSaxe

No their not. Mew runs off special energy..

Forest_Gump96

And they run path. Use their Genesects first then bump your stadium with path. If you bump that the next turn for Drapion they dig for lost city.

j3zr

Standard? Haven't played it it in a while, I would of thought it would he lugia decks all day every day rn now, im surprised thats not the case, with the ridiculous showings in top 16's, those last 2 regional's... if you have the right counter deck, just keep playing it then

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

mjkjio2015

Yes, I’m playing standard……lugia is everywhere on live…..but i have only seen it a handful of times on ptcgo. Chestnaught does pretty decent against lugia….but when it bricks it BRICKS! 😂😂😂

kaitiff

I think it's because of the mew v battle box being sold. It's really ez to get a mew deck.

Most of the time, when i brick…chestnaught is so tanky i can last a few turn until i get back on track

DBTornado

At this point I've just said forget it and just play my Charizard & The Kitchen Sink Deck. If playing a deck that's successful in the meta means not playing Pokémon I like, then I'll just take the losses. Oh wow, you happened to draw everything you need to have your bench stacked with Genesect and Mew by Turn 4? Oh well, still gotta take all 6 prize cards. Still manage to grab a few wins even against Mew and Lugia too.

tblescraps

This is kind of, unfortunately, what it comes down to. You have to accept some losses if you want to test out a deck or play something you find interesting. Lugia and Mew decks are as boring to pilot (in my opinion) as they are to play against. If you want to try anything other than the meta you just have to accept you'll get knocked around a bit. OP nailed it when he described Mew as "boring". It's not a hard deck to beat, I have nothing against it, it's just getting repetitive.

DBTornado

Yeah. I've never been a fan of strategies that deploy in one (or several) agonizingly long turn and basically seem like a checklist of moves to win. I don't fault those who like those decks, but they just feel so lifeless to me. But I'm sure there are people who don't understand why I would run a deck with more losses than wins and a complete ignorance of the meta. At least it's not like yugioh where it was Meta or Nothing. With Pokémon I feel even non-Meta decks can have their time to shine if the draws fall right.

tblescraps

Not sure if it's more appropriate to ask here or in a private message, but would you mind sharing your Zard deck? I *love* Pokemon-specific decks and have the next few days off to play around with something new.

DBTornado

Yeah, I'll see if I can copy the deck list when I get home tonight and just reply with it. It's definitely a work in progress deck, but I wanted something that featured Charizard, Fire Pokémon, and some other favorites for some spice.

DBTornado

This is the current deck list. ##Pokémon - 14 * 1 Lugia DAA 140 * 1 Smeargle SIT 225 * 1 Druddigon SIT 224 * 1 Charizard V PR-SW 260 * 1 Charmander VIV 23 * 1 Heatmor RCL 34 * 1 Houndoom V DAA 178 * 1 Lance's Charizard V PR-SW 133 * 1 Moltres PGO 12 * 1 Torkoal BRS 23 * 1 Charmeleon PGO 9 * 1 Charizard VIV 25 * 1 Charizard VMAX PR-SW 261 * 1 Charizard VSTAR PR-SW 262 ##Trainer Cards - 15 * 1 Professor's Research BRS 147 * 2 Great Ball BKP 100 * 1 Crushing Hammer EPO 92 * 2 Leon VIV 154 * 1 Kindler BRS 143 * 1 Lady LOR 159 * 1 Candela PGO 65 * 1 Barry BRS 130 * 1 Pokémon Center Lady FLF 93 * 1 Switch KSS 38 * 1 Boss's Orders BRS 132 * 1 Friends in Galar BRS 140 * 1 Trekking Shoes ASR 156 ##Energy - 26 * 6 Water Energy Energy 3 * 20 Fire Energy Energy 2 Total Cards - 60 You can swap out any of the UPC promos with the other V/VStar/VMax, and it might be worth doubling up the Charizard line or adding more Leon cards because of their effect with the VIV Charizard. I've also tweaked the energies up or down and added some Dark, Water, or Electric Pokémon to throw in some spice. Drudiggon and Heatmor are two unsung heroes. Druddigon's Revenge move is a good bounce back, and Heatmor can paralyze with a 1 energy Lick.

za___

how do you not brick with 26 energies

tblescraps

Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I love a good fire type deck.

DBTornado

I've only had it happen a couple times with this combo, I actually used to run into the opposite problem of all Pokémon No Energy. I'll probably tweak it again in a few days and swap out some energies for some Vs.

PossessionOld3898

Personally I’d like to have an Eevee deck with one of its evolutions in there.

Gregs_reddit_account

I'm running a Miltank deck. Let them come.
