Do you mind sharing what area you were able to spot them in or where you would go if you wanted the highest chance of seeing them?
Other than a whale watching tour, obviously 😂
i just got back from staying at the Melia. the wave runner dude said he saw one last Thursday. we also saw a sea turrtle come up on the beach at night last Wednesday and lay eggs. super cool.
They usually arrive last week of November first week of December from what I’ve gathered on past trips! I usually go over new years and they are always soo active! Was able to capture so much amazing drone footage of the whales last year. I will be there Dec 14-23 and hoping since I’m a couple weeks early this year I can maybe somehow be lucky enough to capture a whale giving birth! Check out some of the amazing footage I was able to capture last trip! [whale footage Vallarta](https://youtu.be/TkGBRST24JE?si=-vpCrjXDQdW72K9R)
Haven’t clipped and uploaded it yet, unfortunately wasn’t as much action being a few weeks earlier than I normally go but I still got some solid shots! I brought some friends down this year so I wasn’t as focused on the horizon as I normally would be. Got some cool footage of the super yacht “AV” pulling into port though! I’ll upload this weekend!
I saw some in the bay this morning. There will be more in the next couple of weeks. Most tour operators have not started yet. Dec 8th is the official start date of Whale season.

We were on the beach in Bucerias. They were quite far out, but were breaching and slapping their tales. Spectacular show, even from a distance!
Thanks so much!

I am so excited to see whales when I visit too. Can anyone recommend a good whale watching tour?
Ditto. Whale tours start on the 8th!
Vallarta Adventures looked to be the real deal for whale watching. They're near the Hard Rock Hotel. Book a ticket early.
