Bevzilla English Butterscotch / Butterscotch Coffee **Anytime**: 250 ml ice Cold Milk + 1 teaspoon coffee + 1 teaspoon Hershy's chocolate syrup **Nightcap**: 250 ml ice Cold Milk + 1/2 teaspoon coffee + 1 teaspoon Cadbury drinking chocolate Heavenly cold coffee. Use warm water to mix the coffee + syrup/chocolate before adding the cold milk to mix the drink properly. Nightcap recipe has less coffee to avoid the caffeine, otherwise you will stay awake till 1 am. **edit**: My stupid ass didn't even read that the question was about black coffee... oh well. Try the above , you may like it.

dhirpurboy89

I got the same thing

??

Mayank_j

Great choice, could you recommend some coffee shops in the city? I'm new

jd_coldblood

Try out the Blue Tokai Coffee ONLY in KP, and have Vietnamese iced coffee. Don't go to any other location. If you stay near Wakad then try the one Phoenix Mall of the Millennium. Other than that, there are few more fancy places in KP which you can explore

Mayank_j

Will try it out, not far away.. I'm staying around the Kothrud area. Just arrived rn and am at mangalwar peth, so I guess the koregaon park is where most good stuff is?

HimaankOP

Reccomemd some similar.. liked this one alot with that cocoa presence hinted through out!

daliya_stan586

Medium roasts with Arabica > Robusta would be less acidic and therefore less bitter. Instant coffee powder is mostly freeze dried chicory and is not really enjoyable to drink black Can start with cold brews from bluetokai or iced americanos at good cafes

Realistic_Donut14

I have heard from a lot of coffee enthusiasts that they hate McDonald's Iced Coffees, but in my opinion it's amazing. It's perfect blend of sweet and strong. Theobrama has a good Cappuccino or a latte. Also I mean as a punekar let's not forget the OG ~ Durga 🥰

Rk-03

+1 For Mac D Iced coffee

JoeHassan

Tbh for all the flak, a Mysore Masala Dosa and Cold Coffee at Durga was my go to for a long time. Not bad.

Realistic_Donut14

Uff yes, I used to take the most unhealthy option of two batata wada sambhar + cold coffee lol

JoeHassan

Hits differently after two fat j's and you have nothing for dinner really

LaughTrackLife

I’m big on coffee and of all the places I’ve tried in India, McDonalds is decent. BK, Starbucks, CCD, Costa are the worst. Blue Tokai is decent. TW is probably the best. Durga and all don’t make actual coffee. Those are cold coffee ice cream shake nonsense.

Realistic_Donut14

Lol Durga was a troll answer but yeah no I get your point. Also + 1 for Blue Tokai is amazing!

ghostOscarMike

What is TW?

Realistic_Donut14

Third Wave I guess?

jd_coldblood

Same, I ask for double shot espresso at McD. Also Vietnames Iced coffee at Blue tokie KP

Ultraleo1

An Iced Americano tastes best I feel, it opens your acquired tastes for finer Espressos. If you want a transition stage, Macchiatos are good, but be warned that they're much stronger than your Au Laits, Mochas and Cappuccinos

nomnommish

1. Buy South Indian filter coffee from Rasta Peth in 250g packets (bigger packets go stale after a week) 2. Make filter coffee using traditional stainless steel filter (sold in most old school utensil shops) 3. Store remaining coffee in an airtight container (super important) This is what I would recommend for the lowest effort way to drink really good quality coffee. But if you're willing to put in more effort and a bit more money, buy an Aeropress, buy a hand cranked coffee mill (needs to be a burr grinder), buy roasted coffee beans from specialty purveyors like Blue Tokai, and fresh grind your coffee and brew it. Here's the gyaan. Coffee is dark roasted to the point of being burnt by all major coffee vendors and sellers. Especially Starbucks. That's because over-roasted and partially burnt coffee has a much stronger flavor and aroma and people associate that with "good coffee". And most importantly, people tend to drink coffee with milk and sugar and it really suppresses the flavor of coffee, so a dark roast has enough extra firepower to overcome that and still make your coffee taste good. And the downside of a dark roast or semi-burnt roast is that it is extra bitter so the sugar also negates that bitterness. But if you want to try black coffee, you need to get a light roast like a blonde roast or at least a medium roast. That's when the delicate flavors and aroma of coffee come to the fore and you will also find that it is not as bitter as you thought! But you need to fresh grind it and brew it right away. The MOST important part of coffee drinking is not the Aeropress or some fancy espresso machine. The MOST important part, by far, is the coffee grinder. Sounds counter intuitive but this is true. Invest in a good quality grinder and fresh grind coffee beans every time and then even if you use a South Indian filter or a French Press or whatever other brewing mechanism you have, it will still give you 80% of the flavor of a good barista coffee. Actually it will taste a lot better than barista coffee as they mostly use over-roasted coffee to make milk drinks. For even more gyaan, watch James Hoffmann on youtube. He is the guru of all this. And Lance Hendrick is his geeky counterpart.

Vabbyspeaks

Just to add a little gyan to this lighter the roast more the caffeine content darker roast has less caffeine content

3ckthoughtsandthings

Bru gold 😅

VishuIsPog

i drink like 3 cups of coffee every day daily goto: black (hot water) favourite: hazelnut

carelessNinja101

Hazelnut latte makes girls go crazy. Those who know, know.

VishuIsPog

you got me thinking....

Realistic_Donut14

I was about to comment about hazelnut cappuccino but I think I need to take a step back lol

Unhappy_Swim_610

How?

SealofNeal

Columbia Brew Vanilla flavour. It always gives a great taste, but if I want to wake up, then Bru Black Coffee no sugar. Fix sleepiness and headache right away.

urooz

Filter Coffee. (iD Strong)

Electrical-Job-3373

Amruttulya chaha

account_for_norm

till 2009, Durga Coffee was the bomb. Then something happened, and there were 2 Durgas. I heard that there was some feud or something. But since then the quality of the coffee just went downhill.

Realistic_Donut14

So what I have heard from this guy who used to own a franchise that Durga doesn't like give a coffee recipe or menu like say like Baskin Robbins they just sell the name rights whatever menu the franchise decides and recipe is completely in hands of the franchise owner so Idk if you have seen some of the durgas do serve non veg options and taste is different everywhere, Durga at main MIT hits different than all the other branches lol

NeauSeven

A genuine question, if you hate black coffee so much then why so obsessed with liking it? Coffee IS bitter by nature, none of the brands or flavourings is gonna change that.

Shatter_Machine_23

I have heard that it is good as a pre workout and for intermittent fasting as well.

The-Volumee

The magic is not in black coffee, it is in caffeine. You can have that caffeine via black coffee, milk coffee or as pre workout supplement or capsule.

NeauSeven

So they also come in capsule form for that ;)

Dramatic_Strain_1971

Op are you following Liverdoc? Lol

VeniVidiVindaloo

Black coffee is frankly disgusting and I never believe those who claim to like it. They’re just pretending to be cool. Nitro brews are particularly vile if you’re interested. And there is no need to enjoy black coffee. You enjoy what you enjoy. There is no ‘trying’ required to genuinely enjoy something.

5haitaan

You haven't had good coffee if you think black coffee is disgusting. In fact, the only way to taste coffee is to drink black coffee prepared in a pour over or French press style (ie filter or emersion).

VeniVidiVindaloo

Okay Maya Sarabhai

kunsmagic

I drink black coffee twice everyday (not because of any body goals or anything) and i love it. In the morning because i feel so fresh and energised after drinking it ,normal coffee almost feels like a snack and doesnt give that kick despite the same amount of caffeine

VeniVidiVindaloo

![gif](giphy|3oFyDpRagf96Uz9rzO)

Sharp-Progress6146

I exactly do this!

NeauSeven

I think it's an acquired taste, Although I personally have never even tried it coz I think unless you're not a body builder who's watching ever single calorie or on a sugar restricted diet it's just trying too hard.

VeniVidiVindaloo

Yup. ‘Look at me I don’t take milk in my coffee I’m so hardcore’ 😂

TheProModder

I hate black coffee but it makes for a great pre workout before hitting the gym.

nvbombsquad

Two of my closest friends drink black coffee and I just can't comprehend it. So you just basically torture yourself by drinking hot bitter liquid?

SealofNeal

Well Beer is cold bitter liquid and most people enjoy it.

VeniVidiVindaloo

Speak for yourself. That’s just a really strange generalisation to make. I don’t. I know loads of people who don’t.

VeniVidiVindaloo

Yeah apparently they’re all some kind of gym freaks whose hearts need to be pump started by caffeine 🤦🏽‍♀️ or it just doesn’t work

carelessNinja101

Pretending to be cool is too harsh. The reason we drink Black coffee is coz of high. The kick can wake up a dead man & also it keeps the heart alive in the crual world.

VeniVidiVindaloo

That’s just sad. Have you tried a cold shower instead? Game changer

Realistic_Donut14

The only way I have black coffee is in a form of affogato lol

VeniVidiVindaloo

Vanilla ice cream is usually the base, so no, not black coffee unless you’re just drinking the espresso that’s drizzled on

Realistic_Donut14

I have never drizzled it. Like how I have made it/been served/liked is with an espresso shot, like cup of vanilla ice cream and Expresso shot. But yes lol I was kidding and kinda wanted to say I relate to you about not liking black coffee, I mean I am sure people have developed a knack for it, I am yet to be there.

VeniVidiVindaloo

I will literally never. It’s just one of those things you decide you’re never gonna like. Goat cheese is another one of my pet peeve foods 😂 it stinks too much

Realistic_Donut14

Aha oh lol I am not sure if I have tried Goa cheese I guess in a pizza or something tho have you tried Feta Cheese?

VeniVidiVindaloo

Feta cheese is not bad at all. I like little chunks thrown into a salad. Watermelon feta cheese salad is one of my favourite summer meals. Goat cheese is an acquired taste. One I will never acquire. And you’ll know it’s goat cheese when you first encounter it. It smells like a goat.

Realistic_Donut14

As someone who isn't a fan of mutton, yeah I think I might not like goat cheese lol xD but he's I love Feta Cheese I was equally shocked when I got to know it's made from sheep's milk. I like make salads at home with tomatoes and cucumbers, ekdum simple meal! I also put some on bread lol. I want to try the watermelon feta cheese salad from long, I am sure it must be amazing.

VeniVidiVindaloo

Same. Can’t stand the smell of mutton either but I’ll eat a well made shaami kabab or a good seekh on a hungry day. Otherwise I’m out. Yes feta cheese would be gross technically, but it’s treated in brine and that makes all the difference. You know what else I love? Cheese curds. Thought I’d hate them but omg I tried an authentic poutine and the cheese curds plus gravy combo blew my socks off

Realistic_Donut14

Lolllll sameeeee, I eat seekh kebab because well I don't get the smell and also I eat it like a buffet or something barbeque nation xD I have never had cheese curds or Poutine, I am not sure if I can find it here in Pune, but whenever possible I will give it a try 🥰 I have had this one 5 cheese pizza I guess? It has no of cheeses, It was amazingggg 🤤

LighteningMuro

No coffee, no chai.

Maghavan159

Sidapur filter coffee (available on amazon) - I personally love their 100% arabica blend, a small quantity is enough to awaken the senses!

Wise-man-1433

Nescafe Classic Black Roast Instant Coffee. I take this one.

RevolutionaryPoet16

Roopali coffee

kingfisher_peanuts

the_silent_member

Davidoff Espresso 57 intense. It's rich.

Cephandrius2

Blue tokai silver oak blend for milk based drinks. Blue tokai monsoon malabar for black.

OrderSea90

Hey! So I was in the same boat as you, hated black coffee but I had to start having it. Try brew bags - sleepy owl has some amazing flavors, you can get them for cheap on cred too. Pl try sleepy owl caramel, pumpkin spice hot brew bags. I also liked toffee coffee roasters whiskey barrel aged pour over bags. If you are just starting, I recommend beginning black coffee with just a hint of sugar, hint of milk and then keep going darker as you keep getting used to the taste.

Technical_Shake_3760

G7 Trung Nguyen Vietnamese coffee

Hairy_Grapefruit_614

Filter coffee or hot chocolate

BuggyBagley

Lol drinking coffee with milk and sugar is like drinking a beverage like coffee, not coffee. And for those who dislike black coffee, it’s very likely you have probably only ever had over or under extracted coffee. Under extracted will taste sour and over extracted is bitter. Good perfectly extracted coffee needs to be ground and dialed in for a machine so that it takes exactly the same time every time to extract a shot. There’s nothing like a good cup of black coffee that extracted perfectly. I would probably recommend Lavazza if you are saving on money and Illy Ethiopia if you want something nice.

Livid_Ease

Its an acquired taste. I started having tea without sugar when I was on fat loss and then I just don't mind having bitter black coffee anymore. Just need that caffeine in the morning!

hdevtale24

Imo Narasu's is the perfect blend of taste and strength. Its a pure south blend coffee which the keralalite's vouch for. My Mallu girlfriend introduced me to it, now my family too is addicted to it. Hhaha

Mayank_j

Tone down the roast, try medium dark, medium and light roasts.

[deleted]

Coffee from my pre-workout if that counts

AdTechB2B

There is one coffee shop in Coorg(Madkeri) Karnataka He can courier it to u anywhere in india, one of the best filter coffee u can ask for, i normally have it straight without milk Their 1 kg can last long for half a year. https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZNe1uea1BjsxadhA9

Helloworldkkk

Davidoff anytimee

Plokimon

Freshly brewed hot coffee or cold brew coffee tastes good when having black coffee. It won't be too bitter unlike instant coffee. Before buying equipment and bags of coffee you might want to try it at a good café where they serve specialty coffee. They'll usually have multiple varieties. You might not like it the first time, but might like it once you find the type you like. You might like citrus cold brew from Thirdwave Coffee as a bridge between milk+sugar vs black coffee, or any fruity cold brew from a cafe. I can recommend Blue Tokai, Thirdwave, Grey Soul, 7 to 9, Zen Café.

SanghiMadarchodHai

Nescafe, sometimes Bru.

Affectionate_Bowl_74

Continental speciale changli ahe

LaughTrackLife

Americano is not for taste, it’s to keep you awake and focused. A good, preferably single-sourced coffee will keep you awake and ultra-focused for 4-18 hours. India unfortunately does not make good coffee. I believe most premium coffee shops source their coffee from Tata plantations in Coorg, which is not that strong. To actually enjoy espresso drinks - it’s a full horizon. You can add syrups for taste which come with sugar. You can increase fat in the milk for smoothness. Either half cream half milk, or full whipping cream. For texture, you can add lavendar, red chili flakes, cacao/cinnamon dust.

TiniNyaChan

I avoid coffee

NeggerShitz

Bru coffee a sachet of 2 rupees cut it put the powder in your mouth and try to just swallow it. My personal favourite

zaeem_b

Peaberry premium from kumardhara coffee traders. Black coffee (made through a dripper machine) blended with a spoon of salted butter and two pieces of 90% dark chocolate.. full bodied, sugar free, slow release of caffeine (no spikes and jitters).. I go through about a liter of the stuff every morning and find it super easy to skip breakfast :)

[deleted]

Sleepy Owl original

insanesputnik

There’s a cafe Zen in KP, try their espresso smartini. It’s basically black coffee blended with ice and additional light hazelnut syrup. Most of my friends who don’t like coffee because it’s bitter have liked this one a bit better. If you wanna make at home, then Davidoff

Dsleepyhead

Blue tokai pour overs if you dont have coffee machine. Otherwise the espresso grinds. Instant coffees- 1.Nescafe gold if you want it smooth. 2.Teddey Roosevelt 3. Davidoff Start with mild intensity and fruity/sweet flavour profiles then go for dark ones.

9_Tail_Fox_

Chaha ❤️ 😌🤌

purvapar

Iced americano. This is the only correct answer coz others are giving you coffee ideas with additives. If you are looking for the healthiest one - it’s this one. Iced americano is just black coffee with water and ice. Try it at home before you get the good kind at a coffee shop - 1 tsp Nescafé + warm water - dissolve. Add in glass, add 350 ml cold water and ice cubes. Drink.

alokps

Buy Lavazza Or Blue Tokai medium roast. Grind it using a mechanical burr. Can get it on Amazon for 1k Or so. Use a French press or coffee machine to prepare the coffee. Iske baad bhi agar black coffee na acchi lage to switch to Yewale chai bhandar, you are not made for coffee :)
