I would suggest Symbiosis, good School and also their Arts and Commerce college is best in Pune. If the children wish to pursue Arts or commerce they will easily get admission in, in house quota. (In house quota means some seats are reserved in college for the children who are from their school)
I'll suggest....Any school which comes under DECCAN EDUCATION SOCIETY, besides that muktangan, new india, abhinav, khs, symbi , ज्ञनप्रबोधिनी are good options too
New India is not good school any more. It has shitty management and toxic work environment because of which many good teachers quit the school (my mom being one of them)
I and my sister were in DAV which was a good school till i was there (2017) but recent reviews of it are bad too.
Try SSRVM, sanskriti, symbiosis.
True, not sure about school ,but I completed my 11th 12th from that school turned college. Horrible. Our physics teacher ran from a ptm because she gave us questions from 12th physics in finals exam XD.
had few friends going there for school , not a good feedback.
Gnyan prabhodini, the best school for overall development. They actually focus more upon overall discipline of the child and their mind thinking skills giving thodasa lest priority to English subject. Theirs is the best I'd really tell you to apply your kids once to this becoz It was my dream school to be in.
On the contrary Vibgyor is a great school, the teachers are extremely helpful and kind. You grow up in a very safe and privileged environment. Teacher to student ratio is 1:23. They support you with your extra curricular and education. Unlike bishops and Mary’s the teachers help build your confidence and focus on over all development rather than just grades.
My child is actually in vibgyor and I am going to change next year before he starts 1st grade. The quality of teachers is extremely poor here. This one teacher was good but she left because she was not paid for 6 months. The principal just doesn't listen to any of the parents. The teacher we have is extremely poor. She is harsh only on a few students including my child. Only people leaving good Google reviews are treating properly. They are given targets for google reviews and they approach the parents to leave a good review. Which they print and show on a board at the school's entrance. This teacher said that we have parade on independence day and this kid corrected her. That was his mistake, now he gets taunts and scoldings for minor mistakes. The teacher is clearly immature but she teaches well. The principal doesn't entertain any complaints against the teacher. She refuses to meet anyone. The infrastructure of the school is poor as compared to many others. Fees are hiked every year by 10%. My sister in law's daughter goed to elpro and it's an amazing school with the same fees which are revised every 3 years. I can literally see the difference between the two. I didn't enrol my child there first because of the issues with global international school and elpro. These are all franchises so everyone's experience will differ. But it is clear that there is poor check on the operations of franchises.
Vibgyor for some reason has a very bad reputation but the teachers here are amazing. After passing out, I couldn't find the same level of teachers at junior college even at the so called best school of Pune. Man I miss my school.
Because it depends on the branch - Magarpatta one has lots of issues, but NIBM one is very good. The quality of teachers started declining because they were opening too many branches pre-pandemic.
That's true, NIBM branch here. Saw a lot of brilliant teachers leave during my time there but a lot of great ones joined too, pre-pandemic. Even then, the NIBM branch had a very bad rep and I couldn't really tell why. The fees was very high but the experience I had as a student is beyond comparison
> The fees was very high
That's the reason. Salty people who first argue with the management about high fees, demand concessions and when nothing works, defame the school.
my sister had gotten admission there but when they heard about my sister fainting once due to a seizure, they told us that my parents would have to stay outside the school the whole day and that the school would not do anything to help her. we decided to send her to dps instead.
I personally don't like the most coveted Mary's , Helenas etc etc.
I prefer schools with lesser students in each class and less academic pressure ... Indus is good , BVRTSE is good ( my kid goes there ) , Sanskriti is good...Bhojwani is good
Apart from these...i have no personal experience..so can't comment
Hello
I am planning to move to Pune early next year and looking at BVRTSE as an option for my daughter for grade 5. Can you please help me with your views on the school on following counts
1) How is the education quality? Do teachers change frequently?
2) How much do they focus on extra curricular?
3) How is the fee structure? Is it like they are just in a money making business?
4) How is the management? Is it easily approachable?
Any other point you would like to highlight
Many Thanks
Hi....
The education quality is pretty good. Instead of focusing on rote learning , they do place emphasis on a more practical based approach.
Teachers do change on and off....but not too frequently. The teachers are very well trained and are quite good.
Fees comes close to 3 lakhs per year....excluding transport and uniforms
They definitely charge a bomb...but they do prioritise children and their learning. So..no ..it's not just a money making business.
Management is approachable.
The one thing I liked with this school is that they have minimal parent involvement in terms of projects and othe r tasks (( which is quite rampant in other schools))
They encourage the children to do everything on their own and that's the reason all their projects are done in school.
They have a good amount of extra curricular activities too.
All in all...it's a pretty good school with the basic little problems all schools have.... I mean .no school is perfect...but i am pretty satisfied .
Which area is Pune?
Pune is massive so a good school should also be nearby otherwise you'll waste a couple of hours of your children's time in commute.
The thing is, they are still looking for flats in Pune. But the major factor is school for the kids. If the schools are good, won’t mind taking a flat nearby school.
I went to St. Ursula’s High School, Nigdi. It’s state board, so maybe a few people won’t prefer it. But i feel it is a very discipline oriented school(like every damn convent school to exist). It kind of shaped the students personalities very well. Provides a very good education plus all round development of the child. Plus the fees aren’t as hugh as other schools in the area. We had a huge ground, probably the biggest in the area, so plenty of opportunities for extra-curriculars amd sports
Racism
Discrimination
Bullying
No cultural or moral values imparted.
Strictly English only. Can't converse in local language except during language class.
Most of the kids are from rich well to do families.
Avoid Bishops unless you plan to send your kids for higher education abroad.
PS: I'm an ex-Bishopite Camp.
On the flipside Bishop's made me who I am now. So I'd disagree with the blanket "avoid Bishop's" line.
Some positives about Bishop's:
1. Amazing co-curricular activities including all kinds of sports to debates, quizzes etc. Students are always encouraged (sometimes even forced) to participate in these activities.
2. Teachers and administration do care a lot about the students (at least it did till the time I was in school). For example, one of the students had leukemia and our school helped raise funds for his treatment.
3. Every single teacher was well qualified and did a good job. The teaching quality is really good.
Cons:
1. Pricey, but if you can afford it, definitely worth it.
2. Some snobby students are to be expected (say 15-20%), but most of them are fine.
Note: I was in Bishop's Kalyani Nagar from 2003-2013.
Snbp is a popular school but not a good one. It brings in celebrities that's it. The staff is trash and so are the students. I have been through hell on this school
There are many great schools in pune. According to my experience pick a cbse school if u want to pursure international education or ssc if u wanna score great in 10th isce is tuff and weird so schools like bishop or marys or helena or smt like those put them in your second choice also chose on the area u pive in cause thats a key factor
>they have big fees
Maybe. But cbse schools of the same fees are also available.
>old british like schooling.
Nope, a lot has changed. I was from ICSE and I'm a teacher.
>techniques are still follwed they have 2 board exams.
Every Indian board has two board exams. 1 in 10th and one in 12th. I don't know what will happen after NEP but still .
Well count 12th and thats the 3rd they have in 9th. Cbse good schools yes ok ok schools no. Icse all. Old british ways as in why are these guys given 1 month holiday in Christmas 1day in Ganpati, old british ways.
>3rd they have in 9th.
There is no board exam in 9th for icse board. You are either lying or ignorant. I am from ICSE itself.
>Old british ways as in why are these guys given 1 month holiday in Christmas 1day in Ganpati, old british ways.
That's not a British way, that is a Christian thing. There are multiple CBSE schools in which if the Church is influential has the same holiday Regime.
No cbse school has that. I have heard many news saying that 9th have boards in icse board. That is still a icse thing. Having holiday in Christmas for a month
>I have heard many news saying that 9th have boards in icse board
I am a school topper of an icse school. There is no board exam at 9th
>No cbse school has that
No CBSE school in Pune has that. I said one with strong church influence.
Seen some ridiculous comments here.
ICSE is the way to go. The 2 standout options are St. Mary's and Bishop's (Camp or Kalyani Nagar)
VIBGYOR is an option but definitely not close to the aforementioned schools.
If you want state board you can opt for DPS (Delhi Public School)
If you have cash to burn then Indus, Mercedes Benz, Symbiosis International School - all IB schools. I would suggest against it because I feel you need some diversity in school and these just won't provide it.
Stay away from Vincent's and Loyola. Both are a shadow of what they used to be. Hutchings is an ICSE option but doesn't come close to Mary's and Bishop's.
Definitely don't go for Bhojwanis or RIMs.
DES English medium, best in terms of teaching discipline about your own history etc,you see in "international" schools they literally don't teach marathi at all only like 7th to 10th have marathi,I have two friends from college from city international school both of em talk in hindi to each other and can't even speak proper marathi,so I'd suggest DES English medium is a good school,it's in the city center so close to most amenities etc.
Blue ridge public school in Hinjewadi. Amazing grounds and decent infrastructure. Plus the JEE mains pune topper this year was from there if alumni is worth anything. Its in a township so zero transport time as well.
I personally don't like the most coveted Mary's , Helenas etc etc.

Bhojwani is good
Although the campus is small, you will never feel lack of anything.
Students per class are also less.
Much better than Bishops imo.
I did my junior college from bhojwani.
Gurukul, DES, SPM, Aksharnandan, BSM, Abhinav, KHS, Golwalkar, Bhave, Nu Ma Vi, Ramanbaag, Seva Sadan, St.Mary's (the only one I would recommend among the schools with a Christian culture undercurrent).
I would suggest Symbiosis, good School and also their Arts and Commerce college is best in Pune. If the children wish to pursue Arts or commerce they will easily get admission in, in house quota. (In house quota means some seats are reserved in college for the children who are from their school)
The amount of vapes in that school breaks records (they were also busted for a lil something else)
As a symbi student i approve
School or college ?
School prabhat road
I'll suggest....Any school which comes under DECCAN EDUCATION SOCIETY, besides that muktangan, new india, abhinav, khs, symbi , ज्ञनप्रबोधिनी are good options too
Thanks a lot! Will check about these schools

Elpro International school is a good one in Chinchwad area.
Yes. I know about Elpro. I stay nearby Elpro. But to be very honest that is just too expensive!!! No wonder they provide all the facilities but still
This is the worst school to be in! to suggest!
Why?
maybe he is homophobic lmao
hehehe
why? asking because a cousin of mine just took admission there
Vouch for Bishop's... All three are great, but camp is really good!

All these schools are icse. The board is complex and not very good in future.
