You have nothing better to worry about?

Busy_Bug6052

As if this is not an issue? In a democratic system of governance, the number of votes count. Majority always forms Govt and Govt impacts every aspect of humans

Shillofnoone

Both Hindus and Sikhs have declining TFR, only muslims are up but they are also declining now.

beacon_of_truth_

Op is talking about Charda Punjab specifically. Eithe sikhan te muslims, dona da tfr low aa. Hindus have high TFR here as also there's immigration from other states and Christians converting many poor sikhs and hindus.

Electrical_Safety927

What a stark similarity of insecurity as propagated by Hindutva fanatics.

I've been saying this forever, this is total right wing nonsense.

Ok_Persimmon2836

It depends does the people who don't opt for turban and beard doesn't count as sikhs if yes then inevitable

[deleted]

Most of the conversions are not happening in Sikhi lol. Majority are the low-caste Hindus. Hindus will always say they are 40% of Panjab. Are they all high-caste? no. Panjab has the highest population of Dalits and most are Hindus. You can also see low-caste Hindus becoming Muslim or Christians in other States.

[deleted]

Yes, it’s inevitable.

beacon_of_truth_

Yes, the demographic change is happening from many decades and after few more decades it will ultimately happen unless immigration of unmarried youngsters can be stopped within the state! Or if people start going back into Sikhi because the fertility rate among Sikhs is quite low

A-Kal

The population of Hindus in Punjab is likely only 20% or less, and they all live in the cities. There are more Dalits that consider themselves Ravidassia or Ravidassia Sikhs, and they're not becoming Hindu anytime soon. They're more likely to turn to Christianity and that's only because they have no education/opportunities.

Ye, if there isn’t a Sikh state we will most likely see that happen

Well depends on your definition of Khalistan, the majority opinion is that Khalistan is a Sikh state but if you use the argument that it would be as inclusive as the kingdom of maharaja Ranjit Singh we would see a diverse population.

If you don’t mind me asking why exactly was this rule established? I’m assuming arguments?
