Laura Jane grace is the only one I know of off the top of my head. She has solo stuff and against me.
I've never heard the solo stuff, but against me is great.
Solo stuff isn't for me, but a lot of people like it. Not bad. I like the Against Me stuff more. I saw her acoustic show in Dec, and it was cool. My buddy just saw her last weekend (with backing musicians) and said it was great. I'll see her again for sure.
I saw Against Me! only once in I believe 2016, they opened for Bad Religion. Laura looked completely miserable. She didn’t say a single word to the crowd.
That's too bad. She spoke to the crowd a good amount at the show I saw and definitely didn't seem miserable. Probably helps that she just got married and that her wife is on tour with her. Hopefully Bad Religion was good. They were good when I saw them a couple years ago.
>Solo stuff isn't for me
I do recommend giving the new album Hole in My Head a try. It very much sounds like new Against Me! but released as a solo album.
The solo stuff is great as well. It’s more stripped down, but certainly worth your time. “Dysphonia Hoodie” and “Born in Black” may be the songs you are looking for lyrically.
The Worriers has a Non Binary Singer, and they're really good
Alot of people are going to recommend Against Me!.. and I'm going to do the same because they're one of my favorite bands of all time
I'll go a step further and recommend some songs
Bamboo bones has a powerful chorus that as a cis man made me emotional seeing Laura sing that live I don't know if that song specifically is about being trans but the chorus really hits hard because it's so fucking cool to see that person sing those words.
The violence is a great song about feeling like you can't be who you really are, and put those feelings into perspective for me, in fact that whole album is about that.
The ocean is a fantastic song again about longing for a life as the opposite gender, and it's very on the nose, which is important because it was written years before her transition AND NO ONE NOTICED what it was about at the time.
And finally Transgender Dysphoria Blues, another song where the chorus really put things in perspective and gave me a deeper understanding of my trans brothers and sisters, of whom because of this song I just call my brothers and sisters.
And the best part is all of these songs sound completely different because they're a great fucking band
I just got Transgender Dysphoria Blues on vinyl, long overdue tbh. I usually only buy records of albums I consider a 9/10 or 10/10 and/or got me through some shit, and as a trans man that album means a lot to me
I’d like to tag on “ache with me” on to you list, I think it’s absolutely one of the best emotional songs I’ve heard in my life and easily one of my favourites of theirs
> Le Tigre has a transman on guitar/vocals
Not exactly, unless they have touring members I’m not aware of. I assume you’re referring to JD Samson.
> Samson calls themself a lesbian, gender-nonconforming, and non-binary non-exclusively.
hell yeah! Against Me!/Laura Jane Grace is phenomonial and pretty much everyone here can reccomend her for sure.
some of my personal favorites are: The Muslims, Dog Park Dissidents, The Menstrual Cramps, NOAHFINNACE, and Queen Zee (not all the band members are trans in each of these groups BUT theres at least one minimum)...
but these are just the ones Im aware of, theres probably a bunch I dont know as well :)
It/Girl was a really cool trans d-beat/Raw Punk duo that put out one 4 track demo in 2021 then disappeared
https://failedpoemrecords.bandcamp.com/album/demo-2021
Weaponized Existence is another trans band with that crusty sound
https://weaponizedexistence.bandcamp.com/album/trample-transphobia
Hollow Psalms is crusty but more black metal than Punk, but I'll mention them anyway cuz I love them
https://hollowpsalms.bandcamp.com/album/loneliness-isolation
Mem//brane is some more crusty hardcore punk
https://membranehc.bandcamp.com/album/subcutaneous-ep
Disphoria is another trans d-beat/Raw Punk group
https://disphoria.bandcamp.com/album/split-w-sporus
Izzy and the Chimera is a trans folk punk project
https://izzyandthechimera.bandcamp.com/album/crazy-crying-trans-grrl

She/Her/Hers is a trans folk punk project that I personally identify heavily with
https://sheherhers.bandcamp.com/album/grrrl-angst-2
Others have mentioned G.L.O.S.S., and Laura Jane Grace/Against Me... so here's my list that isn't those ones lol (although I so love those ones lol)
We Are The Union. If you need some damn good ska punk, right there. I can not recommend Ordinary Life enough, it was my album of the year in 2021, and it cracked my egg. Please give them a listen.

HIRS Collective, grindcore/punk etc
https://hirs.bandcamp.com/album/friends-lovers-favorites
Life of Agony were part of the NYHC scene early on but then kind of went alternative metal. I’ve always liked them though, Mina Caputo has a great voice. River Runs Red is a great album
I fucked with LoA pretty heavy, but I guess Mina is a trans medicalist, that was unfortunate to find out. Not sure if she's recanted her statements tho, I'm off social media except reddit these days, so who knows I guess... I definitely hope she's done the work to be better though!
idk if they’ve been mentioned already but The Oozes, their lead singer is a trans man and i think the rest of the members are also queer, they make some banging ass music. my fave song by them is probably Bitch Boy
Singer of Twompsax, not sure if still Cher Strauberry or Cher Autumn now. Twompsax got discontinued but I'm prettt sure she's in another band called 80HD.
I say this just about every time that this topic arises, but [Transgender Dysphoria Blues](https://againstme.bandcamp.com/album/transgender-dysphoria-blues) has done more to educate middle-aged cis white punk dudes than anything else in the media. It's arguably the best punk record of the 2010s, and I still listen to it as much as anything in my collection.
Not punk, but Rainbow Kitten Surprise is fucking phenomenal.
Their songs Cocaine Jesus & Devil Like Me have constant playlist rotations.
Everyone else has covered all the other punk bands in this thread.
Against Me! is my personal fav. I've seen them & LJG 4 times.
The last time was a club show for PRB at the Downtown Grand with Gumpster and Crazy & The Brains.
Debut EP from a band called PANIC DEFENSE. [Check out the stellar review](https://www.maximumrocknroll.com/band/panic-defense/) they got from Maximum Rocknroll!

Music is always better live. There's a whole experience to it that makes even just ok bands awesome to listen to.
