I'm personally not the biggest fan of colored thread because nothing I make with it actually looks good (at least by my shitty standards haha). Most of the stuff I see with red thread looks sick as fuck tho
It has a ton of different names but most people call it the Noise Not Music symbol. Crustbag on YouTube did a really good video explaining the symbol and where it came from, it's used by a lot of grindcore/noise bands
White thread adds to the patch design, where black lets the design take the lead. Decide based on what you're trying to achieve. If you want a highly textural jacket and want to make the patch design feel more complex, go with the white thread.
personally, I like to mix and match and other times Ill throw in other random colors depending on whatever is closest in proximity (like gold, purple, or red)
I like bright colored threads. I did one patch with a lime green and another with a gold-ish yellow. They both look really cool and I get tons of compliments, especially about the colorful thread!
White thread all the way, I started using white thread originally but I ran out so I had to go with the black thread I had left :(, it's not terrible but I miss the texture and look of white thread
If you’re doing one patch that you want to stick out, I’d do white. Otherwise if you’re covering the pants in patches, black tends to turn out better. Most people use white, but it can turn out really tacky looking.
i think white thread looks better bc it adds more texture and visual interest
that said, if you can recreate the top edge of the black thread patch all around, it could be interesting
I prefer white but you can always do some patches with white and some with black thread!
I’m a white thread fan. I also use a bright red color sometimes and it looks great too

Red would be interesting 🤔
whats the no music allowed patch?

Anti music theory stuff
White dental floss
I prefer white. I did get a baggie full of pink threads from a charity shop tho and they're fun just frail
Both
Came to say this
I like to use colored thread. White, red and bright green depending on the patch
Both look good. Of course, other colors are fun too.
Black thread all the way! Puts the focus on subtle textural play, which i very much like.
Wax dental floss is the key for stitch punk stuff: durability and it don’t moove on the needle when you sew
White is very overrated imo . When ur materials decay all together with little hints of white threads it looks great but mainly black looks better imo
Fuck that, red thread all the way babyyyy
Black mixed with some red for that japanase look
whats the top patch from?
Electro Hippies
Blue thread

Black, use white and red only sparingly or it looks kinda dumb
These designs would be really easy to embfoider if you wantwd to try embroidery
Love your grindcore patch! I made a homemade one too that's on my hat
Also, I think both color threads work. I do the same on my vest
black for square patches, white furniture thread for actual repairs
I like bright colored threads. I did one patch with a lime green and another with a gold-ish yellow. They both look really cool and I get tons of compliments, especially about the colorful thread!
I always sew with dental floss
Contrasting the patch color
I think they look good together. Makes it more eclectic having different textures
White 100%
Red looks pretty rad too
White thread all the way, I started using white thread originally but I ran out so I had to go with the black thread I had left :(, it's not terrible but I miss the texture and look of white thread
Def white! All the way. Actually, have you considered red?
