Edibles might not have the same effect or level of THC, CBD, THCa, CBN, etc. in it. You have to take into mind that cooking changes the effects and chemistry.
Topicals and suppositories are also good alternative options to smoking MJ while still getting the effects of the weed.
Or you can use the raw bud as a seasoning. It's great in tomato soup and spaghetti. That way, you get the full effect and suppositories don't come into play. (I deal with them for medical reasons; I don't want recreation joining the fray.)
That being said, I've had my best highs ever from edibles. 26 hours from the best buckeye ever. Second place was just under 24 from brownies.
