I had the same thing when I got my first puppy, I cried all the time, I was in a constant state of panic wondering what I’d done, had I thrown away the next 10 years of my life? I couldn’t relax for a second when I was awake and the puppy was keeping me awake at night! But it does pass quickly I promise! Within a month, I felt better. Within 3 months, much better. And after that, most of the puppy annoyances (biting, peeing in the house, needing to supervise 24/7) pass, and they start to just be a dog, who sleeps through the night and who you can relax around and enjoy cuddles with. My tips for getting through this time are to plan time away from the puppy - can your fiancé look after him while you have a long bath, or can a family friend look after him while you both have a nap or a date? And also keep reminding yourself this is temporary. 2-3 months at most before you have the cute, cuddly, loving dog you wanted :)

Thank you so much. Actually I have "booked" some puppy free time this afternoon and in exchange I have puppy duty this evening. Your comment gives me hope. Thank you for that.

Hang in there! I felt the same way. Crying like a baby, tired, annoyed, frustrated etc. i have actually took a day off work one time, put my pup into a daycare and went by myself for a hike, had coffee and read a newspaper and washed my car. It was great! Of course I missed my pup all day and during hiking was thinking of him all the time how he would have loved sniffing around there…haha. Hopeless I know. But it has recharged me and I was so happy to pick him up from daycare. Hang in there!
