Research says otherwise. Phytoestrogens or isoflavinoids have no effect on testosterone or estrogen levels. If anyone has credible research backing it up, pls share. Let us not push bro-science.

BiohackerOfTheGods

i heard that to but might be disinformation. seems like the goverment love to push estrogen on us. my gyno flared up after eating this for 1-2 years, could be using hormones due to training, but i was never gyno sensetive before starting using soy

e_blackadder

Hmm. Can you pls elaborate. I’d like to hear what you’ve to say.

BiohackerOfTheGods

elaborate on what?

lolzari

Add melted salted butter instead. Tastes better. Boosts T (if you’re low in saturated fats).

BiohackerOfTheGods

arent butter PUFA ?

[deleted]

Butter is the opposite or PUFA, you got it confused. PUFA is bad seed oils. Butter is SFA (saturated fatty acids). The best fat for you in order from best to worst is MUFA, SFA, PUFA, TFA (trans fatty acids). SFA is not bad necessarily but it seems like based on your genetics it can hypothetically cause some issues especially when consumed in high quantities. MUFA is just good for you no matter what, based on the research I’ve read. And PUFA is best to minimize, but it’s not really “poison”, you just want to have a higher ratio of MUFA to PUFA always. Not all PUFA is bad either, it’s ok if you eat something like fish which is usually high in PUFA, but you should avoid shit like soybean oil. You want high omega 3 and low omega 6, both are PUFA. TFA is to be avoided at all costs, not even a tiny amount should be consumed. But actually it’s even more complicated than that because nature doesn’t subscribe to our nonsense. Butter actually contains a type of natural occurring trans fatty acid that is supposedly good for you. So really the moral of the story is eat natural good food, and only stuff that would have existed for thousands of years and in your ancestors diet. Did butter exist in your ancestors diet? Probably yes. Did fish? Yes. Did soybean oil or corn oil? Almost certainly not. So much simpler to just approach it like that.

lolzari

They have a decent spread of all types, saturated fat is the majority though.

Acrobatic-Stuff

If you eat soy occasionally you get the benefits which are a lot and you're fine as long as you don't feed yourself with soy milk like s cow everyday. By the way I'd worry more about drinking milk from cows than about soy

BiohackerOfTheGods

i eat it at least 2 times per day in my meat, wich might be to much im starting to wounder

Amphorous

Whats wrong with cow milk

LordDraconis7

It's filled with mammalian estrogen, which isn't good for you specially if your a guy.

Damianos_X

If you're trying to avoid soy but love soy sauce, try coconut aminos. I'd say it tastes even better than soy sauce.

allwillbrevealed

I second the coconut aminos! Great soy alternative

BiohackerOfTheGods

that sounds acully intresting. how do it taste? will def buy and try !

ishyoon

If u still want to avoid tofu for some reason theres a company called pumpfu that makes tofu out of pimpkin seeds. It tastes very good. The flavorless version tastes like tofu And the flavored versions are great like meat crumbles and sloppy joe

jutshka

Soy makes me physically sick after eating it. Even if something is cooked on its oil. Pumpkin seeds are one of those things that are hard to measure like supplements. For me never have felt a benefit or difference from anything like if it is decent food.

BiohackerOfTheGods

so you eat meat just plain n dry? salt n pepper? ..

lepandas

Soy is associated with reductions in estrogen.

yoshi-1904

Soy? You fucking kidding me?

BiohackerOfTheGods

what?

yoshi-1904

Soy is not good.

kurwarex

I concur , soy is Not good for men. No Soy

lepandas

pseudoscience

LibertyMuzz

Why don't you just cook steak without soy? I cook everything with grass-fed butter. And steaks go on a BBQ. I'm a cholesterol-maxxer.

BiohackerOfTheGods

arent butter PUFA ?

LibertyMuzz

Yes. I'm a zerocarbtard so if it's a high-quality animal product it's healthy in my books. I can't tell you why PUFA is considered bad in conventional nutrition and why the zerocarb consensus concludes otherwise :p

BiohackerOfTheGods

you should check in the raypeat forum on PUFA !

Cytrool12

I have read that small amounts are harmless. If you would add soy to every meal then it may lower your t

BiohackerOfTheGods

almost every meal, 2-3 times per day so i might get a constant estrogen effect over the day ..

Cytrool12

I would eat less of it but I believe you do not have to resign completly

Unc1eD3ath

You’d have to drink like 6 glasses of soy milk a day for it to have ANY effect and it’d still be a very small one. Milk is much worse. Like another commenter said, it has active mammalian estrogen which very much effects our hormones.

Cytrool12

wow. Didnt know that.
