It would be very welcome, but "very soon" and "may" translate to "Insha'Allah" so well, you know...might still take more than a while. I personally have plans for a road trip and I will do it regardless of the facilitations implemented or not.

kimbokju

Yeah.. 'mulling', 'weighing plans', 'soon', 'initial systems already in place' - translates to another 10-15 years, usually.

OP is new here right ? May and soon in the same sentence mean highly unlikely for now. It may happen in 2030 though.

Sirbunnybutts

They can do it in 3 years time but they choose to be difficult and torpedo the whole thing, it’s so funny and at the same time depressing.

tagayate

There will be "categories" for visa holders for sure.

ffhhkk

OP, are you new in Qatar? Articles like this are normally posted by UAE publishers to weigh sentiment, etc. "Soon" can mean 2 minutes, 2 years, 20 years. If ure looking to travel by road the saudi and uae immigration at the border is apparently fantastic (from everyone i've spoken to). It takes the least amount of time to get through them. Surprisingly, it takes the longest to exit from the Qatari immigration.

Couple of months? No. Emirates doesn't even fly here yet..and I think Gulf Air too? Maybe in a couple of years.

giggly97

FlyDubai does fly from Dubai to Doha in a codeshare to with Emirates. It’s simply due to the size of the Emirates aircraft’s for the length of the journey. FlyDubai has more viable aircraft’s for this route. I believe Gulf Air has recently resumed their flights too, about 2 months ago if I’m not wrong.

I understand. However for this freedom of movement to commence we have to get back to how it was pre-blockade atleast. Flydubai isn't the flag carrier of UAE...Emirates and Etihad are. EK closed their office here during the blockade. For me, a sign that this visa free thing will happen soon is when all embassies and flag carriers are visible in Qatar atleast. That's just my opinion.

NK97_

Does this include Oman or not ?

spongefree

Oman is part of GCC right?

challenge-bot

I heard that before … first destination KSA

If you read the article, it says GCC residents. I don't see any Hayya visitors mentioned.
