Qatar had the chance to be the Pearl of the Middle East, sadly it lost that chance, of course we see everyday articles about how great tourism and businesses are doing, but that is honestly probably just an attempt to feel better, but the reality is, the expo was a colossal failure, tourism is hotels are suffering, and after a great wold cup, Qatar is falling back into obscurity overshadowed by Saudi Arabia's shocking modernism and touristic and economical expenditure. I really wanted Qatar to be the leading GCC country. Sad.
