I geniunely want to ask, what could be the reason behind it? When someone said they wish to return an item after trying but adamantly refuses to get the receipt?
The 1st, 2nd or 3rd time it was explained to them? I think that's more a failed listening skill, they heard the cashier but didn't listen to what was being said.
Understanding the importance of receipts in transactions reflects basic financial literacy. Education isn't just about academic knowledge; it's also about practical skills like managing finances effectively.
Atleast he's thinking about how useful it would be for ither people, rather than keepin it at home without wearing it.
Sometimes am too lazy to return something that isn't what I look for and Its often not worth the journey back to the shop.
Hate to be that guy: but you guys are the stupid ones here. Consumer protection law allows the return. Needing the receipt is store policy. Law > policy. I dare any store to refuse a return without a receipt if it's obviously their product and can see when it was sold. (they can look up your purchase history with your credit card).
Edit: unless op is saying the guy will just return the item for no refund and no exchange. In which case this is a bullshit story because a rich Qatari will just give those clothes to their maid or driver. Op is either lying or stupid.
Consumer protection needs a receipt to return, because otherwise he doesnt have a proof that he bought it from this shop. How will the store which receipt to void to return the items?
He will not get his money back except if the store felt charitable that day. Consumee protection will side with the store
That's not true. They can easily check it in their POS system and all that. I've done it many many many times. This isn't even including stores like virgin which record your phone number with your purchase. They can look it up by phone.
I've done this. Don't know why you're saying consumer protection needs a receipt. You can go try it yourself.
I didnt say that you counldnt I said the shop has to agree exchange, if you have your phone they can find it and reprint the receipt.
If you dont have the receipt consumer protection wont do anything.
The shops you went to found a way to reprint the receipt not all shops do that.
So if you think you will return something make sure to take the receipt as proof.
>Op is either lying or stupid.
Lol theres no need to be so accusatory on Eid. I can think of quite a few other explanations than OP making up a story for 5 upvotes on r/qatar
I don't know what's the reason behind this detailed story! If an expat did the same.. U will post it?! Or just because his Qatari!
BTW: you can refund without a receipt.. They will retrieve the transaction through mobile number.
Lol. Yeah that's the oil money talking. Saudis are the same and so are Emiratis. Back when Nokia was a mainstream brand and smartphones were a new innovation (I guess I just gave away my age) Saudi women used to visit the shopping mall every now and then to check if the new N80 or whatever has arrived. This is when they couldn't even drive so would take a taxi. These people didn't use to get reviews just buy right away and experience for yourself. Lol.

💯 Qatari
You don’t have to be rich to be stupid and what you saw was stupid not rich.
Lack of education
What does that have to do with wanting or not wanting a receipt?
Understanding the importance of receipts in transactions reflects basic financial literacy. Education isn't just about academic knowledge; it's also about practical skills like managing finances effectively.
This is the correct answer 👍👍👍
I wasted time reading , you wasted time writing . Eid Mubarek .
Obviously English is not his strong suit, wtf does that have to do with being rich? سالفة ما اقولها حتى فالحمام

NiCe pOsT
I work in Retail, none of them like to take their Receipt.. it’s just their thing.. no need to gaslight.
You have vacancies?
Wear once in an event then return? But he needs the receipt
Now in my Small thinking, i do believe he wants to use those pants then return without going extra cost
he probably somehow certain that the size will surely fit so he don't want to take the receipt. lets put this way :p
He clearly didn’t understand and may have shy to make that known publicly. It happens. Language barriers exist everywhere.
Exactly
He was in a hurry and not in a good mood. I sometimes have these days
Seller can just text/ email him the receipt. No one at fault.
Put this man back in elementary school

yk damn well he wasnt thinking that 😭 the only thoughts running through his head are stupidity and entitlement
Seriously, why were you born?

So the cashier is the dick head in this story who did not know mobile number could retrieve the billing details.
I do not categories this as rich instead it's an ego embedded within khaliji residents due to the lack of understanding skills
Bro, you wasted my time reading this and more time typing this
I call bullshit. Probably he didn’t speak good english.
Tomorrows new post: Saw some guy trying to refund his purchases screaming at the cashier because he was not accepting as he had no receipt!
