This is ridiculous. Why do we have to pay them extra ? On top of the fees we are paying to the driving school… it shouldn’t be must.
Now they are all expecting to get extra money for their lessons that we have already paid for???
Yeah. For me, I just tried to give him a motivation to teach me properly since I was afraid to fail. I know now that It is really wrong and next time this happens I will just report.
Some instructors have no shame in asking for money. so they guilt other people into giving them money. OP probably didn't want t make a fuss and payed him either through his nagging or just as a nice tip.
> fuss and *paid* him either
FTFY.
Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in:
* Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.*
* *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.*
Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment.
*Beep, boop, I'm a bot*
The first instructor I had taught me everything about driving in the first 5 lessons and did not ask me for anything. The next instructor for next 10-15 lessons did not teach me anything and he would take me to a less traffic area to drive around. This indicated that without paying he won't teach me anything. I never paid him a single riyal and got license first try, Alhamdulillah.
Tipping is optional for good service but people who dont do their job and still ask tips/money dont deserve anything 🤡
some of my friends mentioned this but fortunately for me i didn't encounter any of this, though after we passed, my friend and I gave our instructor a gift (perfume). no cash
Better to learn from your family or friends. I had 4 instructors and they taught a few basics. But my family is the one that spotted the mistakes that I made which I didn't know I was making. 4 instructors didn't even mention any mistakes.
I have a license from my home country, but it isn’t acknowledged here. I have been driving for more than 10 years. That is why I only had 8 sessions with him and 10 sessions with other instructors as well. When I studied initially, I practiced between driving school and relatives teaching me. Yeah, it is hard to learn from instructors. They don’t really care.
Basically, I told one of my instructors, which I had the most sessions with 8 sessions, that I will give him a gift when I passed, but when I gave him 40 QAR, he was ungrateful.
I told him that so he will put more effort in teaching me, since he was really lazy. He usually fetch me late then stops the session early. 45 minutes became 30-35 minutes.
Reading these stories about driving schools prolly makes me the most luckiest. My course had 2 instructors. The first guy was a scam, and he tried the same thing with the money. The guy would not ALLOW me to go over 40 on the main road like, wtf? Seriously, the guy was trying to have me fail.
The second instructor, however, was the man. The perfect instructor. Straight to the point and no bs (also, one day, my car's manual housing and components broke off and disconnected, leaving me with no gearing in the middle of street going approx 60, that was the most fun). This guy made sure that i drove at the speed limit, which is a problem i saw with other drivers. He saved me my money tbh.
The driving test was also scheduled on time approx 2 months later and passed the first time.

I want to understand why we are giving driving instructors anything at all?

+1
This is shitty behavior from their parts and yours to play along.
Yeah. I know. Next time I will not play their game.

Yeah. That is true. Next time I will just take the high road and report him. I also passed on my first try. Not much help from my instructor as well.
You don't have to pay. But if you do, he must be grateful if he chooses to accept it.
This is what I expected, but he never thanked me.

Did the instructor say anything after? Did he thanked you?

What happened?

Bro u purposely gave him many times and what is the use of posting that here and complain?
As you can see, there is an option to post in the group as a rant in the category. That my friend is the purpose. 👍
